Another aspect I would like to add here is that from the west gate of Lalbagh going towards KR market there was a road tree lined upto the Hanuman Temple and Jamia Masjid. This road was also lined with Cypress trees which the British destroyed. Some of the painting and photos of that time maybe available at the Sir Visvesvaraya Museum.

Dharmanna, according to the history of the Tipu's Summer Palace, the Palace was in the centre of the Fort and from the Palace there was only Cypress Avenue leading to the Lal Bagh. Towards to present main Gate was a downhill (Double Road) and a few old graveyard are there. Towards the right where Al Ameen Stands there was a Grave of a Muslim Saint who had advised Tipu Sultan that it is not the time to engage in war with the British but to await another day. But wrong advise by one erstwhile close advisor who was again influenced by the French told Tipu to move away from Blore Fort. Even the French army at Pandavapura did not come to aid Tipu Sultan resulting in his Martyrdom. The area of Lalbagh was much more than 40 acres as there was no roads going to Southend circle or Jaynagar. Even Siddha pura area was also part of Lal Bagh which was taken away by the British. It is learnt that the total area of Lal Bagh was more than 200 acres but the British made it at 100 acres.
