as a kid my mom and aunt took me to the cemetery and mausoleum to see Elvis. I like to think there wasn’t many people that went to visit Elvis at the cemetery. Then we were one of the first to tour Graceland when it was opened for tours. It’s nothing now like it was then. We watched a slide show in the racket ball room and looked at his cars which were still parked in the rear of Graceland. I stood beside the black Stutz and looked in at the Gold trim. My dad was a police body guard for Elvis when he performed the record number of concerts in Huntsville. My mom knows about everything Elvis and my dad rode elevators and walked with him and he told me just last week he could have gotten pictures easy but his job was to keep Elvis safe. He told me he asked Elvis how can he keep his pace of life going as he does…. Elvis simply told him that “ t’s a job just like yours, I just do my job and move on”. My dad still talks about how down to earth he was. Elvis told my dad that he would save my mom a scarf …. After the show he saw my dad and told him a fan pulled his last scarf off but would my mom be happy with a towel and an autograph. He wipes his face and head with a towel and gave it to my mom. She still has it and it has hair dye on it. He tried to sign a picture on the front but you could not see it, so he wrote a thing to my mom on the back and she still has it. My mom knows Ms Jacks who took you around Huntsville when you were here. Elvis was all I knew growing up. My mom and dad are both still alive and probably have stories I don’t know. I do remember when Elvis passed, my mom and aunt cried like it was their brother or a parent. That part I didn’t understand but I’ll never forget it.

Yes, they've restored the Forest Hill Mausoleum!! How wonderful!! I remember going in there when I first saw it in 2020. I was the only person in there. I couldn't believe how some parts of it were in such disrepair. Parts of the ceiling/walls were bad. It's a pretty decent sized Mausoleum. I'm from Chicagoland and went on one of Spa Guy and Trey's tours during Elvis Week a couple of years ago. It was great!! I hope to see you again in the near future Billy and Trey.

Spa Guy, another excellent video. If you had driven a few more feet up EP Blvd you would have come to Calvary Cemetary, right across the road from Forest Hill. Most of the relatives on my mother's side are buried in Calvary. The last funerals I went to was for my grandfather and great-aunt who both died Christmas night 1974. I just remember hearing that Elvis's mother was buried across the street, but I never went in to see it. I remember when Elvis died and was interred, me and some of my friends planned to go late at night to see his site but we changed our minds after all the media reports of the insanity that followed. I believe there were several attemps to steal his body. Some "folks" from out-of-town attempted to dynamite the building and steal his body for ransom. It was constant chaos and a couple of months later both Elvis and his mother were moved to Graceland.

I’m from Tennessee and I was there for the first time in May of this year. The condition of the mausoleum was horrible. I’m planning another trip real soon after seeing this video I’m looking forward to seeing the renovations that were done there. I know you’ve been following Elvis’s career for many years along with lots of memorabilia from him as well. You are a very fortunate man. I have followed you for many years but never comment. You’ve never had to prove to me that what you find is authentic and what you say is true. I’ve never questioned you because I too have followed Elvis my whole life. However I’ve never been as fortunate in collecting as many things but the love for him is still or if not stronger and deeper. Elvis’s love, kindness and joy literally gleamed from his whole body. You sit aside the physical and mental factors to his situation and just focus on the man Elvis. There were were 2 perfect men that walked this earth Jesus and Elvis. I know he hated being called The King, but to the world he is and always will be. So I thank you for all the hard work you do but I know it’s all out of love and fun. I just thank you so much for sharing with us. My daughter is fan of you and Elvis as well. It thrills me to death that next generations are loving his music. This is exactly what I was saying before, the legend of The King never ends. You’re such a wonderful guy and I absolutely adore you. Again thank you for sharing your love for Elvis with us. 🙏🥰❤️

@@donnahunter3488 what a beautiful heartfelt post. You have written what is also in my heart about Elvis. I believe he was the Messiah for the 20th century, there are so many parallels between Elvis and Jesus, born in poverty, growing up preaching/singing to thousands, having an entourage of friends, some of whom betrayed him..the only difference is the time frame of 2000 years.

Thanks for a great video Spaguy and Trey - love learning new things about Elvis and his life - what had always bothered me was I read somewhere that Elvis didn't want to be buried underground so why didn't Vernon have an above ground grave for Elvis like Ben and Lisa or maybe build a mausoleum within the grounds of Graceland and have them all in there. Also do you know if there was a specific reason for Elvis making his Will in March - do you think that he thought he may die soon as it was only 5 months later. Keep up the great work that you both do ⚡💛⭐
@SpaGuy8 ай бұрын
I don't think Elvis planned to die the timing of the will was just a coincidence.. I have heard the same thing about being buried but Vernon was really bothered by Gladys grave being vandalized so he did what he felt was the safest thing..

I visited Graceland in November of 2022 for the first time and also the mausoleum Elvis was originally interred in. I was very shocked quite honestly at the state of disrepair it was in. It was actually locked at the time so we couldn’t enter it. I’m so glad to hear it has since been restored to its original condition. Please keep up the great work on your Elvis videos! Thank you Mr spa Guy.. but I was wondering as to why Elvis wasn't buried next to Gladys @ the meditation Garden? They could have moved Gladys Cliser to Elvis , & Vernon could have been buried on the other side of Elvis ,or on the side of Gladys. It just seems Elvis never got what he wanted . Instead they trashed him in a bookn& the EX WIFE did the same & bik pics & her latest priscilla movie, I don't know why shes not stopped. She's not a presley there is no presley blood running through her veins, & don't belong buried there, just another thing Elvis wouldn't want. Thank you for all your great videos.

I think some fans are taking it a little too far if they are demanding that crypt remain unused simply because Elvis was there for a short time, especially if the estate no longer even owns it. They could probably auction it off for enough to pay for the current and future restorations!

Yeah but I can see the other side of it also. People make long trips just to see where Elvis was was first laid to rest. Some religions believe he lingers there or the spirit lingers there if interred longer than 3 days. I forget what religion. If someone else is interred there than no one would bother even visiting the cemetery.

I often ponder the what ifs, my mind and heart travels down the highway of yesteryear, sometimes researching the past for clues and golden nuggets, In the case of Elvis and Priscilla, did they truly love one another, was Priscilla considering a return to Elvis, would he be willing to make change and great her with open arms, these are a few things that have kept me up into the wee hours of the night, and on many occasions. And now that it is too late for a reunion, I often consider Elvis and his passion for Gospel music, his love for church parishioners, and his passion for singing praise songs with them. In closing, I would love to know if Elvis surrendered his life to God, or did he leave this life with things left undone. OK...There it is I have shared my heart with the posting audience, it is fair to say that I love the Presley family, and yet there remains many unanswered questions.

@SpaGuy2 ай бұрын
I have no real answer but I would speculate that they had no way to get equipment in there to dig a grave.. I was told that they hand dug the graves when Elvis and the rest passed away.. There was too much concrete there now to hand dig unless they dug close to the graves there now and they thought Lisa would want to be close to Ben.

BELIEVE IT OR NOT, I visited this mausoleum in August of 88 and I found a piece of the gray polished marble trim lying outdoors directly below the window of Elvis' crypt!? At that time there were evergreen bushes planted up against the building on each side of the entry so it was easily hidden. Trim is 7/8" thick, 2" high, 5" long and resembles a piece of a picture frame. I went back in '92 and the mausoleum was deteriorating badly! I'm pleased to see it's being restored and personally I think Elvis/Gladys crypt should stay forever empty.

We recorded the entire conversation, however, like an idiot I recorded over it. I get grief until this day from my brothers. We also went to the cemetery. Of course we didn’t have access to it.
