Now I can't stop thinking about how the horses cut their own heads off. Like the knights probably did it, but the thought lingers.

One of my favorite theories is that Ranni hid her Great Rune on the moon. If you look closely, you can see giant lines, lines in a formation that are similar to the great runes, on the surface of the moon. Perhaps, before she destroyed her corporeal flesh, she placed her Great Rune on the moon so no one could take it. Don’t know if it’s confirmed or if I’m just seeing things, but it’s still pretty cool!

Radagon's lack of his own Remembrance is fairly easy to explain in my opinion: he is Marika, and we do not personally kill Marika barring perhaps some interpretations of the Lord of Chaos. No idea regarding Rennala though as what we destroy isn't even a proper impostor or the like, phase 2 is a spirit/illusion summoned by Ranni. Alabaster Lords _technically_ might not be extraterrestrials, they could also be natives empowered by the meteorite or previously inanimate matter animated by the "residual life" of the stars. Astel's manner of arrival might be different from conventional meteorites too as its own attacks and the Eternal Darkness spell suggest it might have arrived via a dark portal rather than fallen from the regular sky, also explaining its title as a "bastard" i.e. not a "proper" star. Founding Rain refers specifically to Glintstone so probably isn't the origin of the Elden Beast, but depending on your ideas regarding early ages the overall mechanism may have been similar. Marika/the Numen are also said to be foreigners to the Lands Between so they could have been the summoners (after travelling "across the fog") or summoned via falling stars by a more ancient Elden Beast (Numen bodies appear stone-like matching other meteor-affiliated beings). Worth noting neither Marika's crucifixion nor the Elden Beast's existence (its grab attack being the likely cause of Marika's state) are broad public knowledge. This suggests the common punishment was an older semi-independent practice possibly derived from Marika's personal knowledge of the Elden Beast and its powers with Marika's own punishment being a later ironic callback.

Lots of great info in your comment! Thanks so much for watching 😀 I really like the idea that the Alabaster lords are extraterrestrial, it adds to the layer of space interfering with The Lands Between. And because I like aliens lol

That was enjoyable. Short teasers have a light-hearted charm. The final two intrigued me most. The travelling stone coffins of the underworld exhibit some kind of sacred text on their exteriors, when in motion. In ancient Egypt, a pharaoh’s afterlife was envisaged as beginning with a journey through the underworld. The stone sarcophagus they were placed in was, symbolically, the vessel in which they undertook this journey and its interior panels were inscribed with coffin texts - funeral spells, icons and inscriptions which would facilitate the transition. This isn’t the only detail in elden ring that possibly involves borrowing from Egyptian mythology. A god emerging from a lotus, as Malenia does, has its roots in the same body of myth. Concerning the crucifixion scenes, the cross employed in elden ring (crossbar above upright) is known as a Tau Cross and it’s one of the few cross variants with a long pre-christian history. In the ancient world, it was most commonly used as a symbol for immortality and this interpretation fits well with its usage in-game, though with a somewhat dark twist. Have you ever thought about a video on Marika’s spoken memories? There still a lot of unpacked mysteries in those snippets, I think. For example, who exactly is she talking to, at the bottom of the Altus Lift?

Fun video! For #1, the Mausoleum Knights even ride headless horses! I first noticed that when riding around in the Deeproot Depths though I totally thought it was a weird glitch at first. W/r/t #4, that's a really intriguing theory about a sorcerer unleashing the Elden Stars into the Lands Between! I never thought about it like that. If so, that would be a cool parallel with Astel and the destroyed Eternal City. And it would make a lot of sense why that spell was locked up in the Heretical Rise! In any case, I definitely think the Elden Stars and the Founding Rain of Stars are describing the same event! What's also interesting is that the Weathered Map you get from Pidia (who serves the Carian Royals!) "depicts streaks of amber light." And that map leads to the Amber Starlight, which is believed to "command the fates of the gods."

I always thought the crucified people being burnt with smouldering flame were a torture way to hurt them more. Maybe this was Rykard doing since he was a Judge and back then he would track down anyone who’s against the golden order.
@AHumanJusticar Жыл бұрын
This could be possible! I’ve definitely found it odd that there’s a much bigger presence of crucified individuals in Limgrave rather than Altus Plateau. Maybe it’s an older practice? Something I’ll definitely look into more very soon! 😀
@garrulousgoldmask Жыл бұрын
@@AHumanJusticar I never noticed that before! Though since Limgrave was conquered by the forces of the Erdtree well after the Altus Plateau, it would make sense that Limgrave would have more non-believers/“heretics,” and more people to crucify.

Hi!, habitants of the Lands between were marked as sinners and pursued for many different reasons. In relation to the crucified folks of Liurna I think they were pursued because these Tarnished refused to cross the sea with Godfrey.

for the remembrances, i think we " kill " a memory of Rennala's past self in that fight, we fight a memory set up by Ranni of her past self and that is the remembrance we get. Radagon is weird, it might be that he is marika and we never kill marika, or he is some sort of a copy or a mimictear
@AHumanJusticar Жыл бұрын
This could totally be it! I've seen a few people on reddit discussing the idea that Ranni set up the fight to be with a puppet that's blessed with her Remembrance already, it's an interesting take for sure. I think my main point regarding Radagon is dependent upon which theory you subscribe to. So many players argue that he either was his own person before Marika or he was ALWAYS Marika. That's the big question. The Remembrance not taking form for Radagon but doing so for the Elden Beast is curious... :)

For number 5, is there a river that takes you to mohgs area or would that not be counted in the "rivers" due to it being a realm of blood?

A possible thing I discovered (late) was that Marika is called the Eternal, not because she’s immortal but because she’s from the nameless eternal city. Lol

Fun fact: Rennala is the only Runeboss who doesn't die because she isn't a Demigod. So her rune isn't inside her body: she's holding it in her hand, in the amber egg. So we don't need to kill her to get her Great Rune. This Great Rune was given to her by Radagon, which is why he doesn't give us anything when he dies. He already gave his Great Rune away. Thanks for the video.

tbh I am not that deep into the eldenring compared to the other fromsoft games so I dont know if what I say could be possible. for the dlc I heard people talking about miquella. and for me it seemed always that he was portrayed as some kind of possible savior maybe. For some reason I hope along the dlc it will really look like this and that he could save the world.. but in the end he just pulls out the 'evil' guy card and everything is fkked anyways xD it sounds boring maybe but I could imagine really cool scenarios. Also it would pull even more parallels to Griffith. I mean he was also locked away and tortured. Who knows what Mohg really did to him lmao
