This video has me thinking on who is the true Villain of Elden Ring. The One Great. Perfect unity & order was broken by the Greater Will. The Great Will is trying to Achieve something in the Lands between. Frenzy is trying to restore the broken One Great via fire. Likeing melting metal in a Pot. Smithing was once regarded as divine. Conclusuon All the outer gods are pieces of the One Great. Like how melicent is a piece of Meleinia. They all seek to converge back as The One Great in one way or another. Whether by blood, fire, or gold. But the Greater Will is trying to forge the One Great into something else via Smithing & Crucibles. What is the end goal of this Greater Will? What is it trying to forge?

I love citizen sleeper so much, i cant say which scene is my favorite, but i do notice that a certain type of scene i adore. Seperations, when you help lem and mina leave the eye, but decide to stay, ankhita and bliss leaving on the amberghis, choosing between ascenscion with the gardener or to stay with Riko or finally truly leaving your body. Peake’s and Eshe’s breakup, the refugees fleeing and a few other familiar faces going. Then that song plays, possible futures, always makes me tear up.

When progressing Varres quest, your eyes will turn red, probably as a sign of favor of the Formless Mother. When performing Dragon Communion, your eyes will turn gold with slit irises.

So since i started playing the dlc 3 months after release, i didnt know how rich the characters and their stories were Not once did i meet thiolier, i didnt even know his name until i finished my first run. Anyway, i was thinking of an ending where miquella took our heart forever. It hit me like a truck when i realized the unimaginable life of st trina. Miquella would go down the fissure and do who-knows-what to st trina. Did miquella abandon his rage, frustration, anger, spite, or envy? Because those characteristics dont describe st trina❤

That is a really cool connection, I like how you tied the meaning of the Japanese term to the Suppressing Pillar. Might also be important that Charo's Grave is above the Cerulean Coast (which relates to the Suppressing Pillar inscription through the stone coffins), and it also has the tibia mariner and their boat (so another connection to water, the shore, etc.)

One nuance to add to the eye thing is the fact that blindness seems to be both a punishment and cause of blasphemies in the Lands Between. Having one's sight removed seems to imply openness to outside influences. Also, between the item descriptions of the Scar and Soreseals implying they impart a burdensome duty, Messmer's phase transition cutscene where he finally curses his mother after destroying his, the whole bit where chaos can infect your eyes (whist arguably subverting your will in the chaos ending), and the fact that all the rune items in the game look like irises-one get's the impression that to have grace in the first place implies one's will is being at least partially constrained. This would explain perhaps why Tarnished are seen as being of dubious character by most of the people of the Lands Between. Tarnished might be the only people in the lands between who aren't at least partially charmed already by some higher power (not sure if this would be Marika or not as I feel at the end it's strongly implied she's been under control herself for quite some time by Radagon/The Elden Beast). To have grace may be to literally be blinkered, to have one's gaze occluded entirely by the needs of another, higher will.

Alternative route for durge from act 2 : Once Roland leaves last light in to save his siblings you can kill isobel, then go save Roland and go save the prisoners. Once in act 3, with only 1 of your character, go knock Roland out with non-lethal attack, pop an invis potion and leave the tower to cancel combat with the guards and elementals, then go kill Loroakan with or without nightsong and then longrest and voilà, Roland is now an ally somehow

Wowww, amazing video and so many great theories! I would love to see a video on the Lands' Between time! I think that concept also ties really well into the other theory about Miquella's Needle blinding one's eyes, as one must use it in Farum Azula which exists "beyond time". Therefore the Needle combined with Farum Azula's time shifiting capabilities must alter the fabric of reality our player witnesses through their eyes. The Rune of Death stopping time is really good! I would love to see a video exploring how times works in the Lands Between! I love how in FromSoft games, the dying-and-coming-back-to-life mechanic is part of the lore which I think is related to time being suspended in the case if Elden Ring.

I have a hypothesis that the Hornsent were trying to make two gods, their whole personality revolves around duality and the power of the spiral. I believe Marika was supposed to be their god of life and the GEQ was to be their god of death. But Marika betrayed GEQ before they could both ascend, stealing divinity for herself and sealing away destined death.

my theory is that those weird long spirit bois are actually spirit noodles.
