I don't think Amaranta is the murderer for 2 reasons, the first is that the reason she wanted demarco dead is because of the arena, and since the arena is closed that means she no longer has a motive and got what she wanted. The second is that Demarco left a skeleton which most likely means he was cursed to not return to the land of the living, here are few who know how to do this and Amaranta is not one of them. Based on who we know has those abilities the suspects in my opinion are Pendragon (I'll help him get away with it if it's him), Higher members of the order of souls presumably, Stitcher Jim, and various skeleton lords.

Is it just me or the fact that DeMarco's Skull is missing his iconic beard is a bit fishy? I mean, Flameheart's skull had a beard, Rose's Skull had some hair, how come DeMarco has the cleanest cranium of them all? My hypothesis is that DeMarco could have set up all this to lead us to believe he died.. perhaps he needed a way to just disappear?

"Once you board the ferry, you can come back whenever you wish" I mean the bilge rats from the Fate of the Damned update would like a word with you. Fairly sure their dialogue was basically "whoa I'm dying! so anyways can't wait to portal back into the real world" Rose and a lot of other dead tall tale characters didn't seem to have any reservations against coming back to life either,, they just seemingly couldn't. Not to mention all the dead merchant captains we saw doing lost shipment voyages as well. I think it's just a case of the ferryman deciding whether you deserve to go back or not, and we pirates just have some HEFTY ass plot armor.

Presumably the way they got to the sea of the damned was on board the ferryman’s ship afterward. Yet it still took going across the veil ourselves to bring them back later.

So, Rose and Goerge chose to stay ghosts to live eternity as lovers. But then accepted the gift from the Ferryman to sail the Black Pearl. The lost Merchants from the Shipwreck voyages are now Ocean Crawlers. The people from the Fate of the Damned indeed boarded the Ferry to come back. And as we saw in the Pirates Life Tall Tales, we do not spawn on the Ferry from a lore perspective when we die. Instead we can spend years, even decades roaming the Sea of the Damned in search of the Ferry to come back to life, but in the real world seconds/weeks/months pass, time works very differently in the Sea of the Damned.

Yeah I had COMPLETELY forgotten about drifting in the Sea of the Damned woops ^^' Really changes everything, I guess if real world time was loosely linked, it'd also explain why the bilge rat skeletons vanished just days later after they appeared. Fair enough! Though I've gotta say that just makes this mystery even more confusing, if death is almost a nonconcern and more of an annoyance, why would Lesedi be taking his "death" so hard. Sure if he decided to stay in the Sea it'd make sense, but she had no way of knowing. It definitely seems odd.

3 things. One. What if its not a gust of wind, but, like, a mermaid gem... Not the best guess, but that leads me to my second point, which is... Two. I do not like the direction these mysteries are going. Before when they released these hidden messages on screenshots they'd post, I thought it was cool! They were teasers to upcoming surprises and updates. It made me think that there was greater lore to find the more I got into the game, and that, eventually, I'd be "In on it", but now...? I dont want to be on twitter. I'm sad that I didnt even know about the Demarco skeleton vid that SoT posted until the youtube algorithm put it into my recommended 4 days after. I know that the goal of whoever thought of doing it this way is to get as much engagement as possible, and have us tweeting all day about SoT, buying their merch, the pirate emporium stuff, and drinking their coffee... but I reaaly wish they'd find some way to incorporate the "out of game" stuff, into the game. Make them loading screens, or even just the have the main menu have a link to the mystery posts. P.S. I dont feel that the game hub counts. Still too removed from the game. Three. Final point.... Freeze is the Fart King. Really.... On Captain Falcore's channel... REALLY....? After looking at some people's ideas i've thought it could perhaps be, on an off chance, the pirate lord. I wouldn't place your bets on it, but there is some evidence to support it. I've seen people talk about how the chest you get the lantern from is the Old Sailors chest, which was the pirate lord's chest. It even has the same symbol and wear and tear. I've also seen people throwing around the idea of the amulet demarco wears having a veil stone on it, and that his skeleton was missing the amulet.

After looking at the islands, they seem to match the constellation of the Boat, which is to the west. The island clusters are split into the left, containing lone cove and the right containing flintlock peninsula. Perhaps it has something to do with that? I've tested with Sudds telescope, but nothing.

I believe it's the in-game way of showing that Reapers have a (relatively) strong lead, just like the fog becoming far less dense when Merrick's winning. They could also be hints for what might happen to Golden Sands if Reapers do win in the end.

That’s with all lanterns! If you check the emporium whilst having another latern with a different color than yellow for example the dark adventurer latern (red light) it will also show up yellow in the emporium
