@@Alex-to8es His rationale was to stretch the more expensive protein over as many meals as possible rather than have one meat forward dish and two mostly vegetarian dishes. It's harder to do when the pork is already seasoned as simple ground pork can go Asian (Mapo tofu) to Italian (ragu) to Brit (sausage) with your spices and cooking technique.

What I find interesting is that of the three food team dishes, one is essentially what Barry came up with at the end of his go, and the other two are basically what Ben prepped. In fact they were mostly let down by Barry and Mike ignoring the onions and Ben leading Jamie down the path of pasta.

Now this could be a good concept to try at home… I honestly used to struggle so much with cooking if the things I was cooking with didn’t come out of a bag with instructions. I’ve been watching you guys for 6 years now and I’ve honestly learnt so much and I’ve been more “experimental” and trusting in my cooking. I decided I’d give everyone at home a night off on Friday and I made pesto and mozzarella chicken in bacon, herby potatoes, asparagus and creamed spinach. They all loved it! I also managed a home made tiramisu! Thanks for all the tips and tricks over the years guys! ☺️

It takes experience, but you start to think in terms of ingredients and techniques instead of needed components for a recipe. It's a very cheffy thing to go to the market and decide what you are going to make from the stuff that is best and/or cheapest. It's a great skill when you can just look in the fridge and/or pantry and can make stuff from what's on hand or needs to be used before it has to go in the bin.

Hey guys! I just checked out "sidekick," and it's pretty cool. I do have a feature suggestion, though... For those of us who absolutely don't eat meat, or have allergies, it would be very nice to have a settings page that allows you to *disclude* ingredients from showing up in your menu selections. (A vegetarian would only see the veggie options, someone allergic to nuts could avoid the menus that have those.) It sounds like a little thing, but it would be nice for that sorting to just be done automatically. (After all, you guys brag about being Sorted, right? ;) The other thing I'd like is to be able to go back and pick older meals, but that might be because I'm not subscribed yet? Sometimes I'd have multiple things I'm interested in, and other weeks they might not sound appealing.

Still voting on a "Kitchen safety" episode. All these youtube channels always talk about how to deep fry something but they NEVER talk about how to actually dispose of the oil safely and properly. Hell, it's difficult enough to find information on how to actually dispose of that oil properly from actually good sources which is just laced with absolutely overly complicated instructions that makes the average person's eyes glaze over and they just pour the oil out into the sink, which is something that can cause severe damage to the plumbing in a city and many larger cities having to spend millions upon millions to fix. It's even easy to structure. First, tell the boys to create something that is to be deep fried. After that, have a snack and maybe a competition of it or a badge. THEN tell them and teach them to properly clear up after that and inform them that's the theme of the episode, having Ben monitor how they handle themselves around the oil in the first bit of the episode, or if you want to be real pedantic with "kitchen safety", how they handle themselves by the placing of knives and such in a manner that isn't dangerous to them or anybody around them.

I've just realised that this video uses largely the ingredients of and gives clear recipe inspiration for my favourite meal pack on Sidekick, the Under 15 Mins pack

The audacity of Jamie being outraged at other people's ratings haha Ben and Barry actually did a good job on their parts. Jamie usually gives himself a 9.325 for successfully boiling water and chopping up onions.
