Hot Take: Overwatch should give us map selection for example -> At the beginning of the game all players in the game can select one of the 3 appeared maps in the game in a vote system. This would bring agency to the players to pick the map but also show the devs that “This map isn’t being chosen often” which would lead devs to potentially rework the map because of less popularity.

I don't even think this is a Hot Take, it is a Correct Take. Lots of players leave games because of the mode (Push, Flashpoint or Hybrid or Escort on Defense) or the map (Echopoint: Antarctica), so you eliminate the need for players to mode or map dodge because you give them that agency at the start. As you say, you also provide Blizzard more data on which modes or maps people avoid, and they can spend development and community resources on figuring out why that is and make the appropriate adjustments.

Overwatch has a crazy amount of maps, so that would be cool. Matchmaker picks the mode, players pick the maps.

I’d love to see them do map bans identical to rainbow six. 5 maps are shown, each team can ban one map. Then the game will choose randomly between the unbanned maps.

Hot take: mercy’s res is a horrible ability for the game, if someone is punished and is killed from an angle why should mercy be able to sit behind a wall and res for free, I enjoyed what happened in the ltm a few weeks ago where whoever mercy resurrected died after 10 seconds, that or something like the ressed hero being at a permanent 50 percent hp until they die again would feel so much less of a gut punch after putting resources into an elim.

Hot take: Ana would be considered broken if she came out today. A character that can stop healing with a cool down, a cc that can last multiple seconds, no dmg falloff and an ult that can combo with 95% of characters with no skill required by the Ana themselves to use. (Btw this isn't a hate piece for Ana I really love the character)

As an Ana player, I would be fine with 50% on Nade. The CC on Sleep Dart needs multiple seconds, as she needs to run away. Plus it also has the skill requirement to land (the dart is also extremely buggy). No damage fall off, but no headshot. Her Unscoped is also projectile and Scoped has no increase in damage or healing and a reduced fire rate. I also would prefer the Nano changed to the ability she had in one of the events (I don't recall which event) where she nanoed herself. In a game where almost everyone has mobility, Ana is anything but broken.

Hot take: there should be a 2 tank cap in Mystery Heroes. I get this fundamentally messes with the 100% random conceit of the mode, but I've played so many games where one team gets three tanks and two healers and a decent game grinds to a stop as the other team throws comp after comp at a brick wall until they get three or four tanks and a healer, which doesn't always happen. At least when the brick wall comp happens in Open Queue, you have the ability to counter. It just feels like a wasted game when that wall emerges. OW2 matches (even goofy arcade ones) aren't built for 3-4 tanks to exist on one team.

nah, you can get 2 healers and 2 tanks 1 dps and hold easy. its the combo and map. double zarya mercy bap can be brutial. The only check i think should be with you are respawning if there is no one else respawning with you then you get a higher chance of getting a healer

The way to fix MH is to guarantee that each team always has at least one of each role. There are too many times when one team has 4 tanks and 2 healers and the other team has no healers, and the team without healers has to throw themselves away to draw a healer.

ngl thats part of the allure of mystery heroes that keeps me from raging. lts all the luck of the draw, so i cant get upset. these limitations would make the mode sterile.

people saying it "ruins the spirit" obviously don't play much mystery heroes. there's already a 3 hero limit per role - you can't get 4 or 5 tanks (or DPS or support). tuning tanks down to a max of 2 instead of 3 isn't really a much of a change since blizzard already introduced changes. (i think it's possible to START with 4+ of a role because of the way players load into a match, but outside of that it can't happen) in fact, mystery heroes hasn't really been 100% random for years, ever since they introduced that if you die by your own hand (jumping off an edge, pharah firing a rocket too close when on low HP etc), you always respawn as the character you died as. i remember people jumping off the edge of numbani as defenders at game start, hoping to get a "better" character before the attacker doors opened. anyway, there's been role limits for at least a year now, changing tanks from 3 to 2 needs to happen. mystery heroes goats is not fun to play in to.

I absolutely adore mystery heroes, but to claim it's the ultimate test of solo skill completely ignores that the enemy team will often be on a bad comp, or characters the other players happen to be bad at, or both.

Hot Take: They should give Torb the option to "build" his turret into different forms. Base turret stays the same, but he can hammer it into a flamethrower for less range and more damage, an ice turret that does very little damage but slows those it hits, or an electric turret that shoots slower but penetrates targets and does extra damage to shields

hot take:skill ceiling and skill floor are prety much meaningless except for the bottom 500 and pro players, what ppl should be discussing is the skill-value curve ie: how much value a hero can output with a certain skill lvl as input. for instance moira has a relativly low skill ceiling but she can still output a lot more value than a lot of heroes for the same skill lvl

Hot Take: I think they should make sombra a support. In metal ranks, the majority of the player base, she can kill too fast and its kinda out of nowhere, and teams in these low ranks cant always coordinate well enough to deal with her. i think making her a support rather than damage would allow her to still keep her identity of a hacker without dealing with things like spawn camping and my team getting picked one by one as much.

As a Support Main who flexes and plays Sombra often. I disagree. The thing that they could address is not having perma invisibility. Have it bound to her translocator as it is now, but only have 2-3 secs of invisibility. They could also have hack reduce damage dealt instead of locking abilities, but have EMP still lock abilities. But if they do nerf her invisibility, expect her SMG to probably get a buff.

Hot take, maybe it’s already been mentioned: Overwatch wasn’t designed around a “competitive” mode or scene and it’s at its best when that is removed from the equation. The game at its core was always meant to be something that you casually play where the tides can turn at any moment, like a party game but in first person shooter format. Obviously the game is PvP but the gameplay is not designed to be taken in a “serious competitive” way like you might with Valorant, CSGO, CoD, etc.

Hot take: the role queen should be 2 tanks, 1 DPS, 2 healers. My friends and I play open que comp more than role que comp (because we are Overwatch 1 day oners). It seems more well rounded than the current role que format. 1 tank can help take space, 1 tank protect allies, DPS, finish/initiate kills, healers heal. Of course some tanks would need a tweak though

Hot Take: after watching Uncle Dane's 'teamwork is a illusion' and comparing it to my own experiences and enjoyment of Overwatch around the introduction of the dps passives initially causing fights to end much faster. I would not mind if they made a match overall much longer but more stalemate-y allowing for more micro moments as I usually dislike the incredibly short fights due to it feeling like I have a very small window to actually get something done before each fight is over. Not to mention the anti stalemate design philosophy meaning that characters like torb loose their more interesting kits.

Hot Take: They should give Mercy's season one movement back, even if it's at the cost of some of her HP, it was fun to have a lower cooldown. Mercy can be frustrating to deal with, but that is mainly due to the player's good positioning and awareness. Something like the DPS passive keeps her in check or whoever she's pocketing can get killed. TL:DR - Mercy should get her movement back, it was fun.

Hot Take: Brigitte's Spark Plug skin should be reverted back to before the changes. She should not have defined muscles. This is supposed to reflect her early moments in Overwatch, before the Hard Work Pays Off.

Hot Take: Dva is way too oppressive for how little imput it requires from the player (even before this most recent patch) playing her. Her armor health is WAY too high, given the recent changes to it and can face tank WAY too much damage with the added headshot reduction to tanks. Her health is one of the highest in the game, with one of the best midigation tools in the game, with some of the best mobility, and a second chance even after they possibly misplay. They should take her health down a little bit like they did rammatra in that hotfix a few days after the mid-season.

Sombras hack and Pharahs hover HAVE been nerfed already. Hack went from a 5 second lockout to like 0.65 seconds or whatever. And Pharah doesn't regen fuel in the air anymore

Points may work but i like the strategy around ults in mystery heros (when im in a group at least). Theyre really valuable because fewer ults are available which can change the game dynamics in a cool way.

@@Lee-fw5bd The problem is that ults are "win more" and so the winning team can just roll the other team. I play without a group though, so it's pretty harsh sometimes. @Mazerwolf I've always thought this was a great idea but with a minor ult charge reduction on each new hero. That way you can't as easily cycle heroes for a good ult. Alternately, perhaps just take the lower of ult points or percentage. (if using the points would produce a lower percentage, go with that. If not, just do the percentage.)

@AvonaStar maybe? I don't think that's fully true. I can only speak anecdotally but ultd just happen rarely and with the more "deathmatch-prone" pacing, if you're able to survive and contribute enough to build an ult, you're usually either pub-stomping without ulting or you're playing conservatively. Once again, that's just my experience and if they re-add the mode to competitive I can totally see your experience being way more common. I think that in the current game mode, keeping the ults would make the mode way more of team-deathmatch and arcade. It's all personal preference though. I like the reward for staying alive, personally.

Hot take: CC is a necessary evil to make tanks viable without making dmg sponges or bigger dps’s I think CC, even tho it’s annoying, gives tanks a way to better hold the line and guard their space than just holding their shield up. Having CC in game allows tanks to play as a wall and without it sometimes feels like u could just ignore the tank and they can’t do anything about it and with the current tools the only way to make tanks feel that way is to make them bigger tankier DPS’s

Hot Take: I think they should rework Torb's hammer to be his secondary fire, and just completely remove the secondary shotgun blast as a whole. They're both close-range tools, but out of the two, Torb hammer is way funnier (and more fun, imo) and also more indicative of his character and typecast as an engineer. When I think of Torbjorn, I don't think of his shotgun secondary fire, I think of his turret, his hammer, his splooge Ult, and his rivet gun that fires Flaming Hot Cheetos. Compared to those parts of his kit, the secondary shotgun fire is just so...bland and boring.

Hot Take: Hitscan heroes have damage falloff - so Projectile heroes should have range falloff, similar to how Hanzo's arrows and Zarya's right-click arc and fall. Why can Kiriko throw a kunai straight as an arrow... or rather straighter than an arrow? Zen can 1-shot snipe a lot of heroes with a fully charged right-click. Pharah can spam rockets from across the map through tiny pixel perfect angles. I'm not a Widow player, but it makes no sense to me that a bullet gets beaten by a kunai at large distances. And it's not just for "balance" because Kiriko is a support and Widow is a DPS, Kiri can accurately hit crits from across the map while strafing and crouching while Widow has to scope-in/charge/move slowly.

HOT TAKE: Dva should only take critical damage while she has her defense matrix up. DM is such a powerful ability. It can literally eat all projectiles (including ults) with no damage cap. Its “hit box” for eating things is massive (wide AND long). She can shoot while using it. And she can fly while using it. Imagine if Reinhardt could do all of that while using his shield… that would be pretty op and he isn’t even capable of eating ults. Having Dva be vulnerable while she’s using DM would make it so she has to be a little smarter about her positioning and when to use it.

Suggestion: life Weaver should have his healing charge up function more like illari's. You should be able to throw out a full 80 hp ball, and then as it recharges, it will heal more based on recharge level. This will fron load his healing without significant impact on how he functions, as long as the recharge time is the same as his charge up time.

This would make his gameplay loop so much smoother. My only thought would be that maybe would need to tweak down the number from 80 because he wouldn’t have to worry about the down time building a charge, but idek if that’s necessary

*Misery Heroes is fun until it decides to not give you a support or tank for 2 rounds while the enemy team locks 3 tanks and two supports. Usually when you defeat the supports or tanks they just get replaced with better ones.

Hot Take: Many of the pain-point DPS characters, at least in the metal ranks, make for great concepts for the other roles or possible reworks in the future. Two of the biggest characters I see complained about are Mei and Sombra. Mei would make for a great tank concept and would remove the extra CC in the DPS role while keeping the theme of tanks having most of the CC in the game. We already saw what a Sombra rework for support might look like as well with Mirror Watch. I think it would also help generate more love for the other two roles if the number of characters you could pick was more even. It's just a thought, but if we moved Mei and Bastion to Tank and Sombra and Torbjörn to Support, we would have 14 Tanks, 14 DPS, and 13 Supports (with Juno). I just feel this could be a way to alleviate some pain with Tank and add some variety to the roles outside of DPS. Also, moving these characters would increase the skill floor of DPS and slightly lower it with the other two roles, making it much easier to get into and feel useful in them.

Hot Take: The way to fix 5v5 is to bring back the offense and defense category. You put hit scan characters like soldier, Ashe, widow, reaper… etc in the offense category, and non hit scan characters like junkrat, torb, Mei , sym… etc. This way hitscan doesn’t dominate the game because you’d get only 1 offensive character and it would force you to play one of those wackier and unique characters every match. This would help take some stress off the tank by allowing them to play many different tanks based on the offensive and defensive duo you have.

medium take(?): rein should be able to deploy his shield during his pin. rein is arguably the only tank without a reliable distance-closing or medium-range damage source. the only way for him to be in his effective range is to shield, which makes him slower, walk in, which ends up in CC simulator, or pin in, which is suicide 99% of the time. the balancing aspect to this would be that his pin will only do knockback if the shield is deployed. this also aligns with his cinematic. i think this is the only way to make him balanced without gigabuffing his hp/shield to be unkillable

I know i already wrote a hot take, so hot take: certain hero kits are fundementally not well designed for number tweaking, such as venture turn their nunbers too low and their super super weak, e.i. making their clobber too weak makes it not worth using, but tuning to high results in insane bursts(like right now), same with sym either good or bad, orisa, so on and so on, my propisition is really just kit reworks or changes to specific abilities

Man your whole speech about how games in general become more stale to people s they become to play them and this isn’t just an ow thing was so real. A lot of people I know should really just take a break from the game cause it’s clearly affecting their mental health because they are taking it way too seriously. Many are praising marvel rivals now even tho it obviously has issues just cause wit feels new to them. They’ve been playing this game so long there’s no way to make them happy anymore. Also telling them that yes, there were definitely many tank players asking for buffs is absolutely true. I myself know many that were actually screaming for buffs so idk why some players wanna be delusional now and say they have no idea where blizzard got the idea the tank players felt weak. They just can’t take responsibility and accept that what they asked for was too much. Thank you for being the voice of neutral reason in this community.

Hot Take : Ana is one if not the most annoying support to go against. Cc/anti-heal when she is 10 miles away . Plus, she is one the easiest support to play (+Zen and Moira) in a technical plan (like Widow or Soldier).

Hot take: they could've come up with a better name for Cassidy. I understand why his original name couldn't be used anymore and 100% agree with changing it, but "Cole Cassidy" sounds like they used a random name generator and went with the first result. Personally i think they should've used a name somewhat similar to the original but still sounds different like Jason McCloud, Joseph McCord, or Jackson McCabe

Hot Take: Ana is a problematic character. the reason playing tank was so bad before season 9 was because of Ana. Games always devolve into Ana vs Kiri because her nade is oppressive and its why they're both always meta. Her sleep can be a press to kill button for a lot of tanks and should've been removed when switching to OW2. The only reason shes never seen any big changes is because blizzard is too scared to change her kit since shes the most played character in the game. The fact that so many characters like Hog, Mauga, Doom, Kiri are affected by her so much is bad (Mauga having to be gigabuffed on release to help against nade and sleep, Hog needing a complete rework to help against sleep making him unkillable without her there, Doom needing buffs to other aspects of his kit to be survivable, Blizzard never wanting to nerf kiri hard because then there would be no answer to ana). The game revolves too much around her.

Hot take, Moira is worse to fight than Sombra. At least you can see where sombra is going to teleport by where she swings her gun arm. Moira clicks fade and could be left, right, up, down, on a platform or around a corner, fully healed with her orb in a second.

My hot take is that they should add 2 more roles: Frontliner and Healer. Frontliner are the slower tankier DPS like Cass or reaper and the tank buster style tanks lime queen hog and mauga. They get the current DPS passive, and should be halfway between a dps and tank for HP and damage. DPS get new passive. Healer are for supports where healing is the main identity. They should get some boost to healing low HP characters.

Hot take - to make mercy more powerful without making pocket unkillable they should do something like the following - increase the values of heal beam and leave damage where it’s at, however starting or swapping between beams has a ramp up time. So killing the pocket is easier if mercy misplays her dmg or heal beam timings/decisions. This adds a level of risk and decision making for mercy pockets but also increases the value of her heals for other players. The way I’ve described it might not be the best but I think making the pocket more engaging/interesting for all would be a step in the right direction.

hot take, add skill trees to pvp. i feel like the diversity would make this game a lot more fun. once you hit a high enough rank people kinda “play the same” to a certain degree. kinda like perks. like genji can have a longer deflect but it doesn’t deflect just negate dmg. it’ll probably help counter swapping as well.

@@Potato_Tomato-od2lz the base game is already overwhelming, at least with. skill tree they get an idea of what they’re applying to their character. there’s at least a handful of players that learned not to shoot dooms block, or zars bubble. have a new players only playlist would solve this problem.

Hot take: overwatch should have purposeful metas sometimes. Some characters in overwatch are really fun to play against and some are not. If the developers purposely made a fun character meta like queen or rein then we wouldn’t have to worry about a character like mauga or orisa being meta. Maybe not meta but at least a little stronger.

fun is subjective, i love rein, orisa and mauga, but Ramattra, and Queen are a snooze fest to me and you cant force me to play those heroes. every character should try to be fairly equal in power, with proper counters and ways to beat it, not just overtune them to force them to be meta

Hot take: they should not allow you to change heroes during a match in competitive, maybe let people change heroes when the round is finished, and if it a push map, maybe let people change when they hit the mid point or something like that, it will make a pretty interesting way to play where is going to be even more mind games involved ie: you picked dva and were against a zarya, do you change next round to counter? maybe the other tank changes to counter your counter, and so on

Hot take: certain projectile hero's have bad projectile design, e.i. pharah currently with her insane splash, junk with his spamrat playstyle being able to randomly 2 shot you, sym mei and hanzo spamming down a choke, im no game dev so i dont how you would go about fixing this, but i do have a idea for spamrat, make his primary fire so only 110, 115 or less on a direct, but increase mine point blank damage, this does 2 things for junkrat, makes his "oneshot" still work, and also makes people caught in a trap mine actually die to it, although do not increase mine radius and adjust mine fall off damage accordingly

Hot take: ashe's dynamite gives way too much value. it's one of the very few DOT damaging ability/weapons in the game, yet it does so much value to the point where spam chucking it into a crowd is the primary source of ult farming for ashe a lot of the time even though she's suppsed to be an aim based character. it feels like as if widow's primary ult farming was to throw venom mines into the crowd. dynamite does both DOT and lethal damage, providing laods of ult charge to an arguably very powerful ult. imo they need to scale back her damage and increase the burning effect timer, similar to mauga's lack of burn lethality. imo the dps passive is a big compensation for the lack of damage

Hot take: the cute and pixel spray achievements should get changed if the ability they rely on is nerfed. The Zenyatta pixel spray where you have to kill 4 discorded people within 6 seconds has gone from difficult in overwatch 1 to near impossible in overwatch 2, with the discord nerfs and fewer people on the playing field. New achievements for Venture etc requires you to kill 3 people with an ult instead of 4, why not nerf old achievement requirements?

Hot Take: Although this is going to sound a little bit more on the crazier side of the hot takes so far, I am dead serious about this -- Mercy needs to be banned in competitive games after 1am in whichever time zone you are in. I cannot be the only one who notices an INSANELY and drastic decrease in a Mercy player's performance late at night. Mercy players are not only super limited to pure healing capabilities without the other types of utilities that meta supports bring, a tired Mercy player playing comp after 1am is literally throwing as their inhibitions are greatly compromised due to poor judgment in NOT just going to bed and being responsible. Not only that, they absolutely REFUSE to swap off Mercy, and I have seen some Mercy players say it's the easiest support to play because it is brain dead and something they can do while being very drowsy. I have talked to peers about this and although they laugh and say I am crazy, they do see a point in what I am trying to bring up, and have shared similar experiences/sentiment on late night Mercy comp players. I am willing to bet Blizzard can provide data/statistics on this as well if they were to query W/L percentages of comp Mercy players during this late night time frame. Again, this is specifically for competitive games, by all means play Mercy in unranked into the wee hours of the night until your heart's content. But in a competitive scenario it's literally free SR if the opposing team has a Mercy at 3am.

Hot Take: (Maybe) I think 2CP should return to quickplay. It definitely shouldn't be in comp but some of those maps are very entertaining. I know it is in arcade frequently but playing without role queue sucks. There are so many maps that I don't think a random 2CP game here or there would upset that many people. Unless it was Paris.

Hottake: instead of role q and open q we need a 2/1/2 (moba) and a 0/3/2 (fps) q. It reduce the q time for dps and support and tanks can play in duos. Win win for every role. And both communitys moba/fps get what they want.

I love MH, play it alot after a 12 hour shift. Tired and don't want a serious game. Good to play so you have a good understanding of all characters, so you know them when you play against them. But, the Tank buff has destroyed MH. MH has always been RNG, but when you going against 3 tanks. Wasn't easy before, but big difference now. Then, of course the people who don't play tank get tank.

Quick melees should be replaced with Unique melees for each hero. Zen’s kick is just the tip of the iceberg, heroes like JQ and Genji should do slightly more on a melee than Ana or Symmetra. Does it add another layer of balance difficulty? Perhaps. Does it add more “uniqueness,” to each hero? Absolutely.

Very hot take: they should choose a side Or treat the game like a moba and take ALL one shots from the game , like Reinheart pin , junk 1 shot combo(they already took that) , widow 1 shot hs , hog hook combo and more 1 shots Or Treat the game like an fps and give all characters 1 shot capability, like genji shuriken, dash , stab combo , venture shoot ,dash ,punch combo, and etc Tho only on squishys duh Also rework genji to have his ultimate be his normal fire. There is so much more potential for an ultimate there than a katana that almost always needs nano to be effective, its so underpowered that it could work as a primary fire as is 😂

It used to be during OW1 times, mystery heroes in OW2 is just a mess. Its incredibly unbalanced which is funny bc it is mystery I know, but yeah thats how it is. Mystery Heroes was my 2nd most played gamemode in OW1 with about 300-400 hours, in OW2 not even 3 hours.

Hot Take: Passives in Overwatch should be implemented more like Apex Legends, where heroes gain specific passive abilities over time. This approach would help combat counter-swapping while enhancing each hero’s unique identity. Overwatch heroes are too distinct to be limited by broad, role-specific passives. Instead, hero-specific buffs, similar to those in Apex, would be more fun and engaging. Additionally, if you earn more or better passives the longer you stick with a hero, it would discourage constant swapping and reward players for their commitment. It's definitely more work, but if pickable passives are implemented long-term I think this implementation is more sustainable and enjoyable.

hot take: i find all the negative discourse and sentiment around Overwatch to be really tiring and boring now and it's difficult to engage in productive conversation around this game because of it. Yes the loss of pve was bad and the switch to 5v5 and free to play with battlepass and more monetized cosmetics was controversial but it's been over a year now and I think the game is actually in a pretty good state overall. The game has pretty healthy player numbers according to steam (with many more on battlenet and console for sure), getting new content consistently with a dev team that communicates a lot more openly and frequently too. of course there's still problems but overall im happy with the how the game is and im looking optimistic for its future. just wish more people could give Overwatch a chance again

Hot take: RQ and 5v5 are the direct result of a playerbase who'd rather cry or quit than ever adapt to help their team. Been playing since Jan 2017, mostly tank and support to fill what my team ALWAYS lacked. As a result I learned most tanks/supports and don't hate swapping. 1 tricks, 2-3 hero players, you can thank yourself for your misery today. I don't hate tanking in either 5v5 or 6v6 because countering was, at least I thought, the whole fucking point of the game; always having an answer to problems the enemy throws your way

Hot Take: Changing the 5v5 format would be a massive mistake. Rework characters to be better for the game, dont rework the game again. We go through it every 2 years, and it doesn't solve anything. They create a new game with new problems that gets scrapped for a new game with new problems. The stack of bandaids is getting so thick that we don't even know what the wound looks like anymore. We just know what the previous bandaid looked like.

Hot take: they should make high skill hero's way more viable to people who are good and make easy to play characters have more outplay potential against the strong hard to play hero's like Genji and doomfist Ex: When doomfist is blocking the only way to put him to sleep with sleep dart is by hitting a head shot on the doom who's blocking, or for Genji they could buff his dash damage to 75 to make more easy break points but they add more counter play for example his dash can't go through shields allowing a Briget or sym wall, or Zarya bubble to stop it allowing more skill expression on both sides

“Brigitte”, fyi As a Doom main, that change to his block would make him completely broken. There’s already so little counterplay against a Doom who engages properly and saves block until relevant enemy cooldowns have been spent, that change would make him unstoppable in the hands of many players.

Hot take: They should bring back Concert Clash mode but add two more teams of 3 so it's 3v3v3v3 an then open it to all the heroes. I think it'd be great. Also please ignore the fact that I'm basically asking for them to put the game mode Cashout from the Finals into Overwatch.

They already solved the pickable passive issue…it’s called playing a different hero. We don’t need campaign customization in PvE outside of arcade. Overwatch was built on identifying a hero easily and knowing what you are up against not having to guess or obstruct the game to check what’s next to that players name. With the game further adding heros and swapping being a thing to counter we should not promote one tricks who refuse to change to adapt because their lockable passive ignores a downside of that hero. Keep that stuff out of quickplay and especially competitive. Everywhere else I’m cool with it especially coop which is basically gone. Where is Gauntlet?

Hot Take: I feel as though people don’t understand what they’re talking about when speaking about skill expression. A character with a higher skill floor also has a lower skill ceiling and vice versa. This makes it more rewarding to play harder heroes because you can express your skill in bigger ways and impact the game more, as opposed to a character like Moira where while you can still grow with her, it is much harder to have a versatile play style that can carry games. “Easier” heroes aren’t that good in higher ranks because their options are lower and usually don’t give you as much value.

It's not a hot take to want to nerf Sombra lmao. Her hack is already pretty bad anyway. It's an interrupt more than a silence which makes it far more niche. It's annoying, not good. Maybe because I play her and know her, but when I play support, I hardly even turn around if Sombra hacks me.
