Yessssssssirrr I agree with you on this pack! I love Mystery Ranch’s military line of gear, I used to have the “Sweet Pea” in coyote, which is one of their first and original 3DAP packs, but has the daisy chain system vs the molle which I don’t mind. I like the aesthetics and legendary tri-zip for ease of access to your stuff. You also cant beat the comfort and thought that went into their Futura yoke system which is a game changer as it works well with their insert system for internal organization. Great review George and love that you talked about both the pros and cons of the pack. Thanks for a thorough review GD!

Hi George my top 3 EDC pack as of now (October 2020) are: 1) Bellroy Classic Backpack Plus (Forrest Green) - Good for work and if I need to carry my laptop and other stuff. I think this would be good for you to try as well. 2) GoRuck Bullet 15L - For a leisure day out with only minimal tech and bare essentials needed. Or when travelling. 3) North Face Recon (Women's Version). For when I need to go on turtle mode. 🤓😅 Or days I need to bring my house with me. 🤣 I am 5'1" inch gal with 16.5 inch torso length so the most I can do for my frame is around 24liters. Any bigger and people will only see a walking backpack 😁. Mystery Ranch (MR) Assault line is not really my cup of tea (aesthetically speaking) but I like your take on their Rip Ruck Series. I'm saving up to buy MR Rip Ruck 24 (Cherry 🍒 color) I enjoy 👍 your reviews and take on the bags and gear. May you review more in the future.

@@GeorgeDEFINED I love it so far...only a few very minor gripes...#1 like you said, the drag handle could have been better executed, I wrapped some 550 cord around mine and that basically fixed it so no big deal...#2 the zipper pulls could have been better like the maxpedition ones you put on yours or the ones that come on an eberlestock bag, I swapped mine out already, easy fix...#3 there is a small section inside the bag (by the tube pockets, the verticle zipper splits it in 2) they could have added another peice to cover the backside of the cordura and all the MOLLE stitching, just to give it a more finished look. But these are very minor complaints...it's super comfortable, I dig it.

I just bought this 2DAP today after hours of watching its review videos and u know what? I'm dissapointed because is has no key clip in it! None of his pockets has it. Key clip is something that is also important to me for a backpack but I overlook about it. But my purchase has 7 days exchange policy so maybe I'm going to exchange it with the more expensive Mystery Ranch Blitz 30. Blitz has more external pocket, fully clamshell & has key lanyard!. Maybe u should review Mystery Ranch Blitz 30 & 35 versions.

@braswes4 жыл бұрын
First - great review. I own this pack, and I learned new things about it from watching your video. I agree with your comment about the MOLLE webbing, particularly on the front panels. It has no useful purpose, especially with compression straps going across the bag that would interfere with any pouches you hung on the front. I actually use the side panel webbing to clip water bottles / umbrellas in the side pockets to ensure that they can’t fall out. I have 2 other cons to this pack. I have difficulty making it stand up on its own, I always need to lean it against something or it falls over. Also, the side laptop access is pretty small. I have a 15 inch laptop and its a hassle to get to it that way. I end up just opening the top. To be fair, the access works ok for my 13 inch MacBook Pro. All that said, it has replaced a GR1 21 as my daily driver and I don’t see that changing any time soon.

If the lumbar pad is uncomfortable on your back, that suggests to me that you've got the yoke adjusted too short - kinda looks that way in the on-body shots too - obviously it's your choice how you wear it, but you may be better running the harness a bit further up.

I’d still love to see you review the REI trail 40. While a bit on the large side, I’ve used it as an edc bag for work when I have a bit more of a gear intensive carry. There’s a lot of people online who love this bag for a travel bag or crag bag, or something else. It’s gotten some updates, some good and some bad, and the price went from $99(i think) to $109 and now $129, but I still think it’s a great bag. It can be used for day hiking, backpacking, travel, and more. It seems like there’s some overlap with this 2 day assault. My brother actually got the trail 40 a couple years before joining the Air Force and then they actually provided him with a 3 day assault pack, so he has a couple great bags now.

I haven't had the opportunity to use tri-zip pack, but I'm sure I will eventually end up buying one. Seriously digging the harness system on this one. Well thought out, and the curvature concept is super intriguing. Trying to make backpacks more ergonomically correct should make it easier to carry heavier loads longer.
