Minnesota has an odd relationship with Canada, we are more like them than we are like a lot of the US, nobody even looks at taking Canadian coins in most stores. But it can manifest itself in odd ways. This sketch being a good example. I always say,we are sort of like Canadians, but with more guns.

*Hilarious In Hindsight Moment:* When this episode aired, Canada's Prime Minister was Jean Chrétien, a Quebecois. But as I write this in 2014, the current PM, Stephen Harper, actually is from Alberta. So… that joke is funnier today than it was then.

SERVO: Oh I wish I was back in old Canada, A land which I never shall lampoon! How I pine for the ice covering Lake Manitoba, And the beauty that is Saskatoon! (Mike: Oh, I got one.) MIKE: Oh, I wish I was stuck in the hills of Alberta, Drinking beer with some big dumb guy trapping fur! As he scraped and he chiseled all the moose dung off his boots, I would learn that he's the Prime Minister! (Servo: Oh, stop that!) CROW: Oh, I wish I was in the land that gave us Peter Jennings, Alanis Morissette, Mike Myers too! (Servo: Yeah!) No, I take that back, I wouldn't go there, even if you paid me, Oh, Canada, you are a place I must eschew! (Servo: Now this is _not_ in the spirit that I intended! Mike: Oh, come on, give in! I mean, after all, they gave us Ed the Sock, and Rush! Crow: Yeah, what are you defending? They're such feebs! Servo: Okay, I'll try! Mike: All right! Good man!) SERVO: Oh I wish I was _blowing up_ Prince Edward Island, And going on to _bomb_ Ontario, heh heh! The _destruction_ of Canada and all of it's culture, Is by far my favooorite scenario! (Mike: Okay, well, that's a little strong... Servo: No, no, you were right Mike, this is much more fun!) Just where the Hell does Canada get off sharing a border With countries far superior to it!? Much like The Simpsons this show spent most of its time making fun of itself and America and when it made fun of other countries it was doing it through the lense of stereotypical American ignorance, so none of it should be taken personally. Just repeat to yourself "It's just a show..."
