I have 2 10 gallon tanks that I keep the temp and water parameters almost identical. Can I move my mystery snails, tetras or cherry shrimp between the two tanks without acclimating them each time? For instance when I’m heavy cleaning one tank. I’d like to move everyone to the other tank.

I have a ten gallon tank that has Mystery Snails, all live plants, and a few cherry shrimp. I am working on a 20 gallon long for a dedicated shrimp tank, but that is for the future. Love your video !! Very good info, it will help me improve the diet my snails receive.

I recently got a second mystery snail in my 10 gallon tank and am going to add shrimp soon . I’m not gonna get any more mysteries but I might add a ramshorn but that’s a maybe . Now that there is a second mystery and other Algea eaters should I be feeding them every day or every other day ? I know that shrimp and other snails are better/faster than mysteries at Algea eating.

I tried your snail jello recipe and my snails seem to be loving it so far. They never really liked the algae wafers but they do like this. I also took your advice and got something to put the food on to keep it out of their gravel and that’s been helpful as well! Thank you!

Love your video and welcome! First of all your snails are super sweet. I just bought a Blue Apple snail and joined her with my Betta girl Tango. At first meet, Tango gave her a little hug which made me a little nervous but overall she’s been pretty good with my Lily. I was told from Pet Smart that they do clean up algae and to give some wafers which I have. I made my own food up but will buy some Rehashy, which by the way is a bit pricey but for now, I’ve been giving her natural food and I made up a calcium formula of egg shells and cuddle bone ground up and added to my blanched spinach, zucchini, peas, no salt beans and calcium, with frozen blood worms. Do I feed her every day? I have been except for tonight because she’s pooping a lot. I also thought about getting a 5 gl with a better lid just for her. My fish has been good but it was like overnight Lily grew really fast. I have no clue how old she is. She was a nickel size now she’s almost loonie and yes she poops a lot. I learned so much on your video and I do understand I have to have her in a good environment. I guess my next question is do I need to cycle the new tank first before putting her in or can I just put her in without cycling because I’ve only had my betta for 3 months and her ammonia is not at 0 and neither are the nitrites but ph is above 7 and nitrates are good. Again an impulsive buy and Pet Smart did not educate me being a first timer when I bought my tank and fish together. It’s my fault too, no excuse not to research with all the information that’s out there. This was the reason why I bought the snail to help with algae. You are the first to say they are not cleaner uppers. That’s ok I will get another tank and Tango can relax. I do have is natural big leaved plants which my little animals love. So my questions again are, do I have to cycle the tank? Do I have to feed her everyday? I like the idea of clipping the vegetables on the side of tank, easy clean up. Thank you and congratulations on your video. I’m going out and buying a 5 gl and some Rehashy food. She’s been really active zooming around.

I have a 5.5 gallon with a male betta & an ivory mystery snail, a 2.5 gallon with a male betta & ivory mystery snail, & a 1 gallon with a female betta & a tiny blue mystery snail. I have just made snail jello so I hope they like it. Mine love broccoli and carrots & spinach. The bettas love the greens also. I also feed my snails aqueon herbivore shrimp tablets made for feeding shrimp. They love them. It takes them less than 12 hours to eat it, except the tiny blue one takes longer. However my bettas pick at them too, especially after they've softened. My snails do eat the algea in my tanks but I don't get a whole lot except in my 5 gallon with the Anubis Nana. She's my biggest snail & she just cleaned all the brown algae off the plant leaves. My daughter & I are preparing to move her Bettas & snails from the 2 gallon & 1 gallon tank to a 10 gallon which I plan to put live plants in too but have to wait for the filter & divider to come in & the tank to cycle. My water is naturally high in calcium so I'm scared to add any more calcium to the water itself because I'm not sure if the bettas can handle it. It tests on the high side of the Bettas needs but on the lower end of the snails needs. Haven't seen any issues with their shells so I'm taking it as they're ok. Funny thing is I bought them all the same time & my ivory mystery has doubled in size, my daughter's ivory is just a little behind but the tiny blue is still small enough to fit on a dime. It's grown a little but not as much. Not sure why they are growing at different rates. The tank sizes & the betta food is pretty much the only differences.

ajoyrod that’s great to hear! I love that you’re going to upgrade the bettas to larger tanks, as 2.5 gallons is the minimum, but male and female bettas cannot live together, so I suggest dividing the 10 gallon into two 5 gallon sections or getting two separate 5 gallons for them. Glad your snails are doing well!

I got my snails this last Thursday and it's already Saturday. They haven't moved at all since I've seen them at the store. They aren't dead, but they have their trap door shut. Water is good, I haven't bothered them once I transitioned them, etc. Are they sick? Can I help them?

Can a mystery snail survive in water hardness of 180 ppm and carbonate hardness of 80 ppm. One betta in a 3 gallon, with silk plants. Ph 7.0 nitrate 20 nitrite 0 ammonia o ppm. 78 degrees . Fed with bottom feeder food with calcium carbonate included for shell health.?

Loved your video, I just started keeping Mystery Snails 4 months ago, just added 2 more for a total of 5 - and apparently I must have had all same sex because I am on egg clutch number 4 - the first one hatched Sunday on St Pattys day LOL Looks like i will be selling them to those who love snails as much as me :) I really want a BLUE one I love watching them I have 2 yellow, one Ivory and a darker colored one not quite bright purple - I saved all of them from the petstore which not to be rude don't take good care of them :( I am not sure if one of them is going to make it their shell was weird when I got them. I am working on a dedicated tank now for the Snails and babies , the Sand really is MESSY with Snail POOP
