I'm not going to lie, this video made me pee myself a little bit. I needed every single tip/item you showed. I've been scrambling to keep my snails happy! I've been using wonder shell. I like snails and have always had "pest" snails because of how beneficial but recently my kindergartner decided she LOVES snails and I now basically have a snail farm. Rabbit snail, nerites, purple mystery, gold mystery, assassin (obviously separate). I think trumpet is the only kind I don't have at this point. And I have been struggling to keep their shells looking strong and healthy. Have done eggshells and wonder shells so far with not much luck. Got all of the ingredients for one of your snello recipes but have been too scared to make it. Have crab cuisine but didn't seem to have much excitement over it from what I saw. All of my tanks have different pH, KH, GH. But all have pH over 7.2-7.4+ I forget exactly what my GH tends to show but it's normally around 8-9 I believe and kh is always on the lower end around 4. I use prime and had heard of safe but thanks for letting me know exactly what it is. Hoping you have an affiliate link cause I'm about to get like everything I don't have that you mentioned! I have no idea if you will see this but thanks again you snail sorcereress!! 💜💜🐌🪄

I had the same thoughts. But i worry about the glaze with the water. Maybe put a small water plant in it but not submerged it or put a cattails, and/or lucky bamboo.

I know this is an older video, but I just want to say I totally agree about Seachem Products being magic! I always joke about how Prime is my little magic potion. I'm definitely going to try out Safe now.

LAV!! WE HAVE HUGE NEWS!!! We have a chimera! A beautiful ivory it's been five days since we discovered him and we're still in shock so amazing we were so in love with Harvey Dent and we named hours Kai. I couldn't find any of the mini sized python filters on Amazon but I did just find them on sale on chewy for 499 so I'm going to grab a bunch of them thank you so much we use turkey basters and with 12 aquariums it's not enough. I wish we could add pictures because Kai is so incredible!!! He's nickel size now.

Omgoodness!! Congratulations!!! How special Kai is!! How lucky! Woohoo!! Best of luck with him!!🥳🐌💜 And I'm not surprised, those mini pythons are amazing so I makes sense they would sell out fast on Amazon. Glad you found one on chewy!! 👍👍 keep me updated on magical Kai and congrats again!! 💜🐌💜

I love your channel. I’ve recently found a love for owing mystery snails. I have almost one of every color and they are all so beautiful and already so big. Some snail love started happening too so hopefully I will get some little snail babies soon. I absolutely love mystery snails and they are the absolute most adorable things in the world. I have every color except purple and black. Your page has helped me learn so much. I always love learning as much as I can for my new hobby. Thank you!

You must be a WoW player with the music from it I hear in the background of all yours vids, lol. Great recommendations btw, am new to mystery snails and one of the two I gots shell seems to have eroded some on the top layer so I'm trying to look for solutions beyond just the crushed egg shell and a wonder shell might be worth trying.

Thanks lav! Great products! I use seachem safe too🙂 each container is good for 60k gallons should last me a few years at least. Also have you ever used aragonite or crushed coral in the substrate? It really keeps the ph up and helps to buffer kh as well👍🏻
@LavsSnails2 жыл бұрын
Hey there! Thank you for watching! I have tried numerous types of things in my tanks before ending up using Seachem. I have 1 tank that is entirely crushed coral substrate and it STILL could not maintain ph over 6, kh was scary low and the gh was almost not present at all. I just assumed it was due to the amount of snails I keep in each tank. Some 20g's have upwards of 200 mysteries in them. With the amount the mysteries poop and how much their growth sucks minerals from the water column I have found the only way to keep the water consistent, stable and healthy for them is the addition of the seachem products. Again, this is just all my personal experience. I wish my "beach", with its crushed coral substrate worked as it was supposed to, but alas, apparently not when you keep hundreds of snails. Lol 🤷♀️🐌💜 thanks again for watching I appreciate it !
@pelhamsaquatics2 жыл бұрын
Lav's Snails yes I too have literally hundreds and more hatching every day😀 our water in Michigan seem quite hard in our area. One of my 20 longs with my golds I use a mixture of regular aquarium gravel and crushed coral the gh is 300 and the kh is 40+ in this tank I have probly 150 dime sized and 4 big adults, I just set up 2 new tanks in my fishroom for my mystery snails, there is also bristlenose plecos with 3 generation of baby plecos, I think that tank is cursed with love😂🤣😂

Hi, I recently got a blue mystery snail and want to really gove this a good go, I have had random snails in the past that accidentally found their way into my tank on plants and also had some in a goldfish tank years ago but this time I want to properly take care of "Lapis" (blue mysteries name).. I find wonder shell quite difficult to get where I live.. Will cuttlebone shell work as an alternative?

I just purchased Crab Cuisine and on the ingredient list is copper sulfate! Copper is fatal to snail.
@LavsSnails9 ай бұрын
The amount of copper found in crab cuisine is WAY too small of an amount to be harmful. In my snaily opinion, Crab cuisine is one of the best mystery snail foods out there. It's full of all sorts of things they need to thrive and grow healthily. and Bonus: Most inverts absolutely LOVE it. I've never seen a snail, shrimp, or crayfish turn down yet! 🐌💜

I have. Question. I tarted using Zoo Med Dr. turtle slow release calcium blocks instead of wonder shell. Shiuldiswitch back? I Kai have non existant kh and therefore my usual tap water Ph of 8.2 drops to about 6.4. I guess I really need those Seachem products. Too.
