When the pup stops running it looks like it's siphoning out because the other end of the line is lower and cause any siphoning effect. No big deal
@tedbell44169 ай бұрын
Yep I think that's how they are supposed to work. The pump stops before the tank is emptied and the rest is sucked out by the tube
@Privat28409 ай бұрын
Everyone I have seen with a long discharge hose does the siphoning after it shuts off.

Those interested in the pump (since Steve said it was a nice pump) it's a Diversitech LCP-20. Lowe's carries it for $95. One of the complaints are cheap check valve or none included! Other complaints were motor failure after a short while and that the pump doesn't activate until the water level is high enough to spill out the back of the mounting brackets. Not perfect and apparently a cheaper version than the other models. At $100 get the Diversitech model with a red base.

They have built in check valves and there rated for a certain height at 3/8 once you increase the pipe size you decrease the lift. There is way to many bends for that pump. Need to go straight up into a primary drain or into the cloths washer drain. There is a float inside the pump so it never runs dry. But the float gets mucky and will stick up and keep running. They should be treated with algae tabs or takin apart yearly and cleaned

Sorry for my ignorance Steve but what does that system do?Add humidity to.the home?

Another satisfied customer!

I have customers call me with water around their furnace. It turns out that the receptacle it was plugged into was a GFI receptacle and tripped. I tell them to run an extension cord from a non GFI outlet. That fixes that problem. I know it is code to have a GFI outlet but I can't keep having the customer resetting it. Those pumps have built in check valves
@mraaron15849 ай бұрын
the pump shouldn't be tripping it had mine plugged in to a gfci for years and i've never had to reset it.

looks like its creating a siphon i think
@RockoRocko-rz7kx9 ай бұрын
that acidic water coming out of that furnace and maybe it rotted the fitting out. Shoulda replaced that elbow for a plastic one. Also i think the floats stuck and keeping the pump on too long and sucking in air and water mixture

There’s a switch inside the pump that shuts the pump off when the water level gets low enough. If the switch is set too low or is bound up, the pump will continue to pump until it is pumping air. There should be some water remaining in the bowl when the pump cuts off. If all the water is removed you will then start pumping air.
