I went ahead and watched this after a couple minutes. Looked interesting. It's alright. The biggest reason this plot doesn't work though is because of that initial fight in the bathroom against the robots. If The Network is trying to get the humans to be more civilized then it wouldn't have picked that fight in the bathroom.

Gary makes clear in his speech what makes people special, both collectively and individually - their imperfections, their right to be miserable failures, full of mistakes. the whole human tragedy... That's why he is the king of mankind for the aliens, a perfect example. His speech is a plea for humanity, which apparently convinces the aliens. Though I liked the message, I found this flick much more uninspired than SOD or HF
