Rule clarification about Supply Shift Cards in minute 8:19: Zee should cycled the Vials below Mermaid Tears Vial, one at a time, until Mermaid Tears Vial was in the 15 mark position. Not just taken the Blue Vial directly at 15 coin cost position as he did.

I grabbed this game on a whim back in Feb from a local toy store. Saw it. Was intrigued. Looked at bgg. Not much info. Tried to find a vid or something, not much there. Grabbed it. Learned more. Cracked it open and love playing it with my friends and fam. It’s quick. It can be “mean/take that”. It’s silly. Great game for less than $15. Highly recommend it

I remember Sam reviewing this at least a year ago... love the reviews like always

Would be awesome if at the end of reviews you gave a similar games list, or like "if you enjoyed this, you may like ___" or "if you enjoyed ___ you may like this" sort of thing :)

If you like this, you like Jaipur.

That would be a good addition, especially if it was a closely related mechanism game. I also think it would be really good to look at the cost of the game vs the amount of content and fun.

I haven't played this, but thought of Potion Explosion immediately

Got this one for brother around the holidays last year and played it over and over as our late night and between game filler. Had a blast with it and we did pick and chose which potions to include (felt some were a little OP). But yeah, was really surprised how good it was.

I’m not crazy about too much take that, but this seems light enough that the take that becomes fun. Great review and I may pick this up for family game night. 👍

the only complaint i have with this video is how you handled the "supply shift" demonstration. your supposed to pull the bottom one, and put it on top, until the ingredient/color on the supply shift is in the 15 slot.

That mechanism with the bottles reminds me of the SOI in Sidekick Saga, but the gravity/sliding down after picking it up makes it less fiddly. Very interesting way to handle that.

Looks a lot like Jaipur, with some powers and price manipulation (aka. Take that!).

Would it be worth not playing with the mean potions? I’d like to play it with my kids, but we don’t like meanness at all. Is it still playable without the take that bits? It seems like it would be.

I really want to get this to play with my kids... only hesitation? I know those adorable pretty little vials of sand will disappear in no time.

What happens if you run out of money? Like I have four gold left and my opponent takes it with a potion. How would I get more? Let’s pretend I have no cards in hand.

Seems like a good, quick, filler game for adults and a wonderful basic economics game for kids! They should expand it for more complicated play and give the game some legs. Oh nevermind, I just read it was Think Fun.

Okay, this is sad to admit, but even simple market games like this make me think, so forgive me if I'm just being dumb here. I see that the low end of the price scale has a 5/1 or 6/1 sell to buy ratio while the high end only has a 3/1 or 16/3 ratio. Doesn't that incentivize players to just buy and sell at the *low* end of the scale and actually avoid higher prices? I guess the fact that you have a limited number of transactions per turn is supposed to keep you from bulk buying and selling the low cost stuff. Anyway, this difference in ratios seems backwards. IRL you have to sell a lot of cheap goods to make the same kind of profit you get from selling fewer high-value items. The higher the price, the bigger the profit margins, usually. This game seems to have this backwards which doesn't just get the "real thing" wrong (which I really couldn't care less about, honestly), but it seems like it would break the strategy.

The value of the items has nothing to do with how rare they are. Its all about where they are on the value scale at any given point
