Hello to Lincoln, Nikki, Dave and Mike of the past! :) I found this gem of a video combing through GameNights I had not yet seen, and loved the playthrough. Thanks for all the great gaming you bring us!

First? Great video (through the 1st hour so far)! I was on the fence about buying this game but it seems really cool and it seems like there are many different choices to be made throughout the game. I think I'll pick it up now! Also, I hope card crafting games start to take off. The idea is really great! Thanks for the video! This is not the first video I've watched from you guys that have really taught me a lot!
@SnackeyG4 жыл бұрын
I see why this needs a couple expansions. Those advancements repeat easily. Can't wait to pick this up in a few days.
@Muhd_Akmal4 жыл бұрын
Yes there's alot of expansions.

Small error: on Pg 12 of the rules it states that when the Level 1 Advancements run out you replace them with Level 2 Advancements (same with the Vale cards). It really just shorted your options in the later stage of the game.
@Kristian_Jensen8 жыл бұрын
The Blanks are also cool because your hand size is not limited, så pushing your luck, as described, isn't hurting your hand, when you draw blanks.

Just played this for the first time today. It's really fun to craft cards and try to get an engine going, but I found (like Dave did) that point chip cards seem a lot better. I also think it's quite a bit luckier game than Dominion, but I like to play luck-based games once in a while. Great video! Thanks!

Great game, I have to buy this one :D Dave's engine was a true Ferrarri though :D ! Although for me Linc is the favorite always ... I know, I know - I respect the sportsmanship of the group, but still :D ! Thanks for the fun video guys! Cheers!

Looks like Nikki spoiled @45:42 but kept playing the hand. Are there any tree symbols that I don't see or is this an error?

great looking game, though i doubt the longevity of the cards. sleeves arent always as strong as one would want them to be :(

Thanks for the vid, guys! Any idea how this one stacks up as a two-player? Thanks!
@PMMagro5 жыл бұрын
Good. It is basically not any interaction other than buying cards.
@gejyspa8 жыл бұрын
I wonder -- did Nikki actually remember that she was "owed" 1VP at the end when she counted? Maybe she actually won outright.

Does the cameras have different frame rates? When watching the video on 60 fps the cut between the top camera and the others looks slightly annoying.
@heccubus18 жыл бұрын
Mista Koo we do have the overhead camera running at 30 fps. It's also a 4K camera but it is unable to film at 60 fps. We are looking to see if we can find a 4K camera that will work for us.

1 Note though: No Disrespect to no one I like all the players that feature in Gamenight! I don't know if he reads the comments here - but we miss Aaron, and I think I speak in the name of many here :D Waiting for his TRIUMPHANT return soon, I guess :D
@ShelleyDanielle8 жыл бұрын
Lincoln mentioned in the comments of the last episode when someone asked about Aaron that he had been really busy but that he'd be returning soon. :)

Seconded, I miss Aaron too :)

Though I like Mike! Nothing against him :)
@dkiprijanovski8 жыл бұрын
As I said too - I liked everyone of the players that featured till now ! But Aaron is unique and he's got the chemistry of the group with Dave Linc and Nikki :) That's all ...

If the (sorry, don't remember the actual term) "consolation manna" token is on the blue side already, and you blow a press your luck, you don't get any additional consolation, right?
@Bunny20862 жыл бұрын
That's correct.

I pile until I get a card with an ability. I put that card with abilities in its own space.

Is it just me or did others feel the ending was surprising? I felt Lincoln had maybe the worst deck. He almost looked defeated as he was playing in the last few rounds. It's understandable, he spoiled the most and had the most empty turns in general while everyone practically else was getting higher end cards in the final turns. I guess racing for VP was just more effective.

Linc's a beast, always thinking about how to crush them all. Just flies under the radar and swoops in for the win.

it seems a little bit complex but also random for me as a game. Don't mind random but combined with complicated game play, I'm. not sure it's for me
@johnrudolph90022 жыл бұрын
After watching the video you would have to pull out the rules to see where the game was played wrong. At 8 minute mark you said you can never buy more than 2 cards. The vale card Stream of Vigor lets you buy 3 each turn. Just glad I learned the rules prior to watching this or I would be playing wrong.
@101759788 жыл бұрын
The game seemed like it ended too fast. The cards in the decks were just starting to ramp up then, poof! I guess the card crafting is the point, but it didn't really feel like you did much with the cards. Just felt like there was a part of the game missing, or it's just not my kind of game. Although, I would definitely play it, and loved the video. I wish they could pound out one a day.
@jkelloni18 жыл бұрын
Agree. I generally dislike games that are designed around counting VPs. Especially when VPs shorten the game play like in this one. I clearly saw that Link did not enjoy the game because he was forced to play the VP 'clock' game since he bought the '3 VP when played' card on turn 1 and thus did not get in to the more interesting card enhancement part of the game. Why not the winner be the first to get to play x mana in one turn (buys teh ultimate win card) OR the one who manages to buy a certain set of the spirit cards? Too difficult to balance that? Yeah, probably. So lets just count lukewarm VPs..
@heccubus18 жыл бұрын
Jani Kelloniemi I really love the game. It was a little weird getting in the cycle-through-my-deck-as-fast-as-possible thing. That really only works if that card is out early and you get enough mana to get it so early. Thanks for the note and for watching.
@joaorobalo75942 жыл бұрын
The reason the game felt anti-climatic is because they were newbies and Mystic Vale has some hidden complexity. When you know what you are doing and know what cards to craft, the game works quite well. A 25 is a low score for my games and that score would've crushed this match, so that should tell you something.
@smolle89068 жыл бұрын
I never wanne play this game again, so much randomness in what cards come out and what cards you draw.
@TorIverWilhelmsen8 жыл бұрын
Less than in e.g. Ascension since the card rows are tiered. But perhaps you don't like card games in general since they inherently have this randomness in them.
@smolle89068 жыл бұрын
i do like deckbuilders or card games. I do like the idea of building your own cards but i think it's not used good in this game.

I know this is going to get me a lot of gasps and "say it aint so" but I'm gonna say it anyway. I think Dave is even better at teaching games than Rodney Smith! Love you Rodney but Dave just barely gets the nod for best game teacher, imho.

Some great ideas in this game. But I think it could have used a ton more play testing.
@xibalba18758 жыл бұрын
agreed, played it once and that was enough. i personally feel the best route is to buff two cards with nothing but fertile soil then you have buying power for days.
@TorIverWilhelmsen8 жыл бұрын
It's more a "proof of concept" of the mechanism for a "bigger" game coming out later.

Version 1.5 of this will be good, it is nice but not 100% .. yet.
