Having completed the dex for these games I can safely say that the hardest for me to catch we're the flipping tiny first evolutions of certain Pokémon. Pichu, petlil (I think, or whatever else is close) and flapple were all difficult. What made it worse tho is I found them all in droves after I was done. Also for anyone who lives under a rock and maybe doesn't know, quick balls make any Pokémon a cakewalk to catch in these games.

Encounter rate, it’s hard to catch those special Tauros (water or fire + figthing type) in the wild. Not only do they rarely spawn but they only spawn once and always within a group. So you really need a keen eyes to see them. Took me a while to encounter and it was annoying to spot given that it looks like the regular Tauros and the fact that the Tauros pack are super aggressive.

Surprisingly, I found the petlil line extremely difficult to catch. It was one of the last Pokémon I needed to complete the Pokédex and despite what is said about Petlil being a common spawn in the two small areas where it spawns, it is absolutely not a common spawn. It took me probably 2-3 hours before I ever even saw one Petlil, and I might have missed a few because they blend into their grassy habitats annoyingly well. All I saw were Capsakids for several hours before I finally found one. The problem is that Liligant is no better. As I was struggling to find a Petlil, I tried to find a Liligant instead, but their spawn is extremely rare and have equally small habitats. It was one of the most infuriating Pokémon to find because both of its forms were exceedingly difficult to find, meaning I couldn’t evolve or breed an easier to catch Mon on the evolutionary line like I could for Slakoth.

I really don't get why Indeedee is on this list. Yeah, it's only found in one region.... but it's a big region, they're all over it, and it's very close to a Team Star base (and you will pass through it directly if you do objectives in level order). It's one thing to say something is hard to catch because it only spawns in easy to miss caves, and not always. It's another to say that you can't catch it... unless you go to the entire northeast corner of the map which is where to find it. That's like saying you can't catch something in the safari zone if you don't go to the safari zone in one of the earlier games. I also think the dragons need to be broken up. Catching a dratini or deino is relatively easy, simply because they're so readily available in different areas. A bunch of the other babies, too. Frigibax, on the other hand, was WAY more of a pain. I haven't found anywhere it reliably spawns, at least. I've only even seen two in all my hours in the game so far (working on the second gym loop, main team in the 70s).

numbers 10 to 2 were super easy for me to catch. 10: i got them at a regular basis in the Dalizapa passage where they spawn right in front of the pokemon center 9: i caught one first try before i even took a single step through Los Platos 8: the only pseudo i had trouble with was Dratini (=20 ball). every other one took maybe 3 balls at most till they stayed in 7: i wasn't even looking for one. i was just jumping around the map, crashed don't know where excatly, saw one, started a fight and simply threw a ball. got it first try 6: i had beaten the titan and was simply climbing the mountain it was on for fun when i encountered one and got it second try (btw. that one was not the ex-titan, cause i threw my pokemon at it and that started the fight) 5: i was running through the desert full speed on my ride pokemon and got one first try 4: i didn't need the surf/swim ability to encounter one. i simply stood at Casseroya Lake, saw one near the shore looking at me, aimed with the LR button and hammered it in the face with my pokemon. 3: again didn't need surf/swim. i was looking for Zangoose walked past a pond saw one and threw my pokemon at it. again got one first try 2: caught two. one for myself and one to trade away for an Iron Valiant. had some trouble with the first one until i decided to just use a dusk ball since it was in a cave. second one i used a dusk ball right after getting it into the orange and caught it first try. can't say anything about the ruins since i still haven't started with trying to get them.

For me Orthworms are everywhere in the desert and construction area, just slithering along just doin their thing in my game. Of course I do get the ones peeking their heads out of the ground as well but I get just as many if not more above ground moving like a snake. It get scared if you approach it and when it runs away it uses its little arm/leg/tentacles that come out of all those blue holes to be able to get away quick from you. It looks extremely weird tbh. But I just thought that I’d share what the Orthworms do in my game bc it’s the exact opposite of what Mystic experienced with them. Also bc almost everything people have been saying about the game isn’t the case when it comes to my copy. It’s worked perfectly with no problems to very minimal things that every game has. But as far as crashes, or lagging/frame rate problems. Also none of those pokemon were hard to catch for me besides the 4 ruin legends and the addition Miraidon/Koraidon you can catch post game. And the 4 ruin ones weren’t extremely hard just a little difficult. I caught the snow leopard looking one with two halves of a sword in its mouth with my first throw, no condition, it was the1st turn of the encounter and I threw a dive ball bc their colors matched and was shocked. My brother looked at me and was like wait what the Hell you just walked up there threw a ball and was out peace lol. Iron Valiant really didn't give me a problem. I'm looking for 2 more purple steaks, and 6 more green ones. Heck I even caught the box art Miridon with an ultra ball, so I still have my master ball.

This game is very generous if you go out of your way to explore. Which means no problem keeping a good amount of poke balls on hand.

So I just spent 1 Quick Ball, 15 Ultra Balls, 2 Net Balls, 3 Ocean Balls, 3 Newt Balls and 4 Timer balls to catch a level 16 Quillfish that was paralyzed and my active Pokémon was level 65. Then immediately caught a level 55 Dragonaire with a Quick Ball. Did I just have a stroke?

Honestly I never have problems catching pokemon even with status conditions I just draw balls until they're captured

No Gholdengo? Or there will be a second list with hardest Pokemon to obtain and not only catch?

I think i had thrown like 30+ ultra balls on a dragonair just for me to see a flying dragonite 5 minutes later 😂 didn’t even bother to catch it at that point

Honestly, I would have pushed Glimmet up a couple of spots. Nothing sucks more than searching for this thing across the map, then having it self destruct after a quick ball. Absolute pain

I've run into quite a few 3 Star Glimmet Tera raids. They're great for farming Glimmet Crystals for Tera Blast.

Glimmet is super easy to find. they spawn on a regular basis right beside the poke center in the Dalizapa passage on

Just got a copy of Violet about a week ago and I'm about 100 Pokemon into the Dex. I filled all Pokedex's in the Sword and Shield games and I'm looking forward to doing the same with this generation! Any insight as to when it will be compatible with Home?? Great video thank you for posting!!!

Not gonna lie, Flamigo didn't really give me much trouble catching early doors tbph , and I didn't even know the pokemon's catch rate either.
@emilyhopemeechem41832 жыл бұрын
In order for you to catch a Pokémon with low catch rate like a legendary, you need: To save in front of a Pokémon that can only be captured once in case you run out of balls or get knocked out A lot of Ultra Balls or 1 master ball A strong team A move that can make it sleep, paralyze or frozen Make its hp in the red zone or closer to being faint, just don’t faint it! Unless it’s a water type, use net or dive balls Timer balls may be useful for when the capture takes too long Dusk balls are useful at night and in a cave at the same time! Good luck catching those things!

I got 100 Pokeballs as part of a pre-order promotion. At least 40 of those went on catching red & blue Basculin. I forgot just how bullshit their catch rate was. But eventually sunk-cost hit me & I couldn't stop.

Randomly caught a Roaring Moon w a couple false swipes into a sleep spore and snabbed it in a Luxury Ball. Then spent an hour tryin to catch another to trade and gave up lol.

I just did the save and quick ball method where if it fails I just run or reset if don't want to fight it or waste other balls.

I wanted to use Orthworm on my team and after defeating the Titan Orthworm I attempted to catch one. OMG IT WAS A PAIN! It was at about 2 HP AND paralyzed. I was using Great Balls as I don’t think I had access to Ultra Balls at that point. After like 7 attempts I looked up it’s catch rate on Bulbapedia. It’s 25 or a 7.7%. OMG THAT WAS SO ANNOYING and I gave up after finding out the Pokémon’s catch rate.

The ruin Pokémon shouldn't have been grouped together, at least not all 4 of them. Leaf Slug has recovery options while the other 3 don't, making it the only Pokémon in the game I struggled to catch, to the point where I gave up and used a master ball on it
