Sadly, nope, full moon irl does not equal full moon in game. I found that out the hard way a little over a month ago when the full moon did not yield a working evolve button. There was plenty of press about other players being confused by it too.

One of the annoying ones for me have been the Galatian slowpoke evolutions. You need to catch 20 psychic type Pokemon or poison type Pokemon depending on if you want Slowbro or slowking.

You can get the special items by playing PvP and winning twice per set of 5 or by battling the trainers (Blanche/Candella/Spark) once per day. You can also possibly get these items from battling with other players and from research breakthroughs.

Back in my day getting Magikarp candy was kinda difficult. Now we have over 2K or even 5K candy due to the Magikarp C-Day or other events. 🐠 Also You forgot about Meltan evolving into Melmetal. Not only does it take 400 candy but you either has to have Pokémon Home or Let's Go Eevee/Pikachu to access the Mystery Box. Not to mention you can ONLY evolve a Meltan in Pokémon Go and collecting 400 candy could take you weeks to do! 🍬

2 options to evolve Meltan if you dont have a Nintendo Switch 1. Use your rainbow candies to your Meltan (Everyone will mostly use because of the 2.) 2. Walk with a Meltan until you get 400 candies but it will be 394-397 candies and you will get one every 20 km So .. 397*20 = 7,940 km I dont think anyone will walk that much for a simple pokemon

Everyone can connect to Pokemon Home if they create a Nintendo account. It's really easy to do. You don't need a Switch for that. If you open the Mystery Box twice (3 days apart), have a Steel Pokemon Mega Evolved (Aggron is probably the easiest to use but Steelix and Scizor work, too), and use Pineapps, you'll get 400+ candy and probably enough XL candy to max it. My Lucky Hundo Melmetal was the first Pokemon I maxed out to Level 50.

For me evolving my Pawmo into Pawmot was pretty hard I had to walk 25km but my shiny feebas is going to be hard to evolve as well at 20km

For me I’d have to say the hardest are Frigibax, Jangmo-o, Larvesta, Pawmo, Feebas, Gimmigoul, Zygarde and the ones that take the 400 candy. Frigibax and Jangmo-o have very small spawn rates so getting the 125 candies can be hard unless you walk with it which is 5km per candy or using rare candies which are hard to get. Larvesta, Magikarp, Swablu, Stufful, Wimpod, and Noibat are a bit more hard I just specify Larvesta since it’s egg hatch only and it’s all based on chance unlike the others than can spawn in the wild or hatch as well. Pawmo and Feebas are hard too because for pawmos final evolution you gotta walk 25 km with it and 20 with Feebas. Zygarde obviously because of 3 zygarde cells per day and having to get 250 and having to walk all the routes and Gimmighoul is hard to find in the wild and also getting 999 coins is super hard too

I see a lot of people replying to me that Cosmoem is easy. I would like to point out that you are either required to spend several rare candies on it, or instead walk 20km to get a candy. You need a lot more than 1 candy. I am not talking about the TASK to evolve it, that is incredibly easy, yes. However, the candy requirement is what makes it challenging, and will continue to make it challenging if/when Cosmog appears more in the future.
