Around 1999-2000, I was at the Arizona Center AMC theater grand opening. Segal was there because they invited him and showed all his movie on every screen for free. The place was full of people for the grand opening and even the Mayor of Phoenix was walking around. We went to watch free movies and while waiting in line inside the main building, Segal walks by with a few people including one tall very thin guy with black curly hair down to his shoulders and wearing a shiny coat almost scaly with sequins in a stylish pattern. Segal was in a long dress goat of similar style. As they were walking down the hallway between auditoriums a man with his 11 year old kid asked Segal if he would sign his VHS copy of Out for Justice, Segal stopped to hear the kid ask, didnt say anything and just smugged his lip and shook his head saying "no". The kid looked crushed as they watch him walk by them only to get stopped by 2 blonde bimbos asking for a pic and he stops to oblige without hesitation. We left. We heard later the Mayor announced it as officially "Steven Seagal Day". What a waste.

It seems like over the last 20 years everybody now wants to be a funny yeah comedian tired but prior to about 25 years ago most men were stoic and quiet and portrayed a very serious demeanor and Segall keep that alive today and these young kids can’t handle it. They think he’s just being an arrogant asshole. But SNL is in no way in a position to be judge mental of anybody, they have become the laughingstock of what they used to be or I could say what they intentionally started out to be. Everyone on the show is a token something, token black guy token lesbian girl token Jew, etc. etc. they’re not on thr show because they’re funny Anymore they’re just filler for being politically correct.

Incredible how many people hate on Seagal just because he speaks his mind. Van Damme is a martial artist but cannot compare to Seagal. I can't look at Seagal without thinking about Gene LeBell chocking him out until he shit himself, lol!

A BS story that grew into a hearsay fact. Of course, this is America, where hearsay is always believed over the truth.

Lorne Michaels famously said “We don’t have to worry about having the worst SNL guest anymore, because Seagal has done it.” Not a nice dude.

My God what happened to those days! Good times indeed people were light-hearted and just enjoying life comparatively to today... I miss those times!

Steven looks like a sumo nowadays and he dresses like a monk or priest. Look at his interview on Good morning Britain recently. This is Seagal here! Seagal looks so damn different now. Still love his fight scenes and intensity in his films. Glimmer Man had real brutal fight scenes and prob his best fight scenes in all his films. He does seem arrogant though. Van Damme much nicer guy it seems

What do you mean? He still the same like he’s always been. He’s always been into that Chinese or Japanese related culture.
