This unboxing and figure review was a visual feast 👏😎 I don't think that it's an exaggeration to say that the FourHorsemen are consistently producing some of the most detailed action figures available today. The sculpts are amazing, but the paint deco is an extremely good value considering the low initial offering price of these figures, not to mention the addition of high-quality soft-goods: incredible! Rahmulus is my favorite recently released Mythic Legions figure, but once I have this 2-pack in hand, these will be a very close second, if not all three, sharing 1st place. Again, great 🎉review Bill 👏 thank you for sharing 🎉

A pity the four horsemen didn't think to also make a new shield peg handle setup for the shields that's not as breakable and can plug into the back adaptors like the turtle shield can. I hope we keep getting more figures with Figma style face plates.

I missed this whole wave because I was ridiculously busy at the time, really annoyed about it now. I want this two pack and a bunch of the various legion builders (especially that deluxe female orc LB) but they're sold out everywhere. Fustrating, this review really shows how far Mythic Legions had advanced since the first waves. Magnificent figures.
@uncardedreviews9721 Жыл бұрын
You might be able to pick them up from BBTS. The site is showing that only the Deluxe versions of this wave (with bonus) are "Sold Out." The standard versions are showing "pre-orders sold out" which in my experience with buying from BBTS frequently means that they will release the remaining inventory once all of the pre-orders are processed. I watched the inventory all weekend and purchased all of the Deluxe figures by continuing to refresh the listing. Hope this helps and good luck 👍

@kiltedcripple Жыл бұрын
I'm coming at these with a slightly different POV than most. Both of these guys are kind of hitting on why I'm less and less enthused about Mythic Legions these days. I still like the line, but I'm nowhere near as devoted as I once was, and a lot of it has to do with these updated figures. The updates LOOK amazing, no question, no doubt. But I kept hoping as the line aged, our updates would yield more function, not less. But that's not what's happening. The cloth loin cloths are really the only victory for improved posability. It bums me out. The huge new pauldrons are great looking, but they kill the arm articulation almost entirely. How are you supposed to pose them fighting with all those cool new weapons? You know, the ones that are insanely huge and make the figures so excessively heavy that they fall over easily and makes the joints loose? Like that new hammer Attila comes with, much like the gorgeous hammer Nate's giant upgrade kit came with, is huge, gorgeous, ornate, and completely ruins the figure's ability to stay standing. Not to mention, with the pauldrons on, the figure can't really be posed doing anything with the wildly too heavy weapon. I had hoped, as things progressed, we'd see a modified torso to add range of motion, maybe alternate elbows or shoulders to help posing, soft pauldrons and hair that would allow better head and arm posing, that kind of thing. It'd be nice if we could get a torso or shoulder set up that really facilitated good archery poses, as they keep including bows, and they make sense given the fantasy setting. Look how great the Cosmic Legions look with their rifles, I wish Mythic could look that good with their bows. And the weapon weight is just getting out of hand. I have a bin full of the 1.0 hammers, because they're just too heavy, I had a pandemic of shelf divers until I took them off my figures. Now I have a half giant standing Captain Morgan style on his hammer because he can't ne power holding it up. He either shelf dives, or the shoulder/elbow sag under the weight if you try to pose him holding the hammer up, and to boot, the wrists don't really facilitate posing him as if he's swinging it anyways. I experimented giving it the very long axe handle configuration to give him a two handed grip, but again, he can't hold it up anyways, and his ankles still sag on the side with the hammer head. I'm leaning more and more into figures that pose better these days, and I'm shortly weaning off Mythic Legions just because I don't think they're gong where I'm interested in following. I already kind of resolved that Necronominus was my last all in wave, but for real, if they keep going this route, the "looks great, in a static pose" route, I'm more like all out. Please note, this is not a hate post for those who still love the line, or like the aesthetic heavy style were going towards. You guys keep enjoying these, no gem no foul. Just noting that for me this is not what my collection will look like moving forward. I tell you, the recent success that is AWOK was a really psychological shake up for me, they pose SO WELL, they kind of took my tendencies in collecting these days and made them laws. And then I've acquired several small company blank figures, ostensibly intended to be used with Mezco, but I'm having fun making them cloths and finding accessories to pair them with my Mythics, but it does sadden me when my VToys, GW Toys, Crazy Figure, or Nowhere Toys guys can get into these cool weapon or fighting poses that my Mythics can't. I love being able to snap shot a fight scene I can choreograph with actual fighting styles, and Mythic Legions just can't do that. I'm hoping Cosmic proves a little more possible for that kind of thing, they look good and using guns gives them more posing options. The cloth goods capes are great, they are a big step in the right direction because they can lend motion to the posing that the figures themselves fall a little flat on. But the capes can't do all the heavy lifting. It just makes me sad that to get the most out of posing a Mythic, you have to strip them almost entirely down. Final note, the recent Jada Toys Street Fighter figures feature this VERY soft plastic for Ryu's gi top, and the crotch cover, so the legs are super posable. I'd LOVE to see Mythic Legions move to hair and pauldrons made of a plastic like that so you could still pose the arms and heads fully.
@DorkLair Жыл бұрын
I think it's a very smart move to get out of Legions for anyone hoping to see someday see double elbows, double knees, butterfly joints, and other types of complex joints. That has seemed apparent to me for years now.
@kiltedcripple Жыл бұрын
@@DorkLair I agree, but I'm not even going that far. With some materials choices and divets cut into new pieces, sort of like what were seeing in the revised torso socket in the Valak chest, the range of motion could be improved without adding more POA. But yeah, I never thought we'd get double elbows or anything, I just want a little more flex out of the existing elbow joints. And to reiterate, soft pauldrons that preserved the range of motion in the existing joint would be in keeping energy what I was hoping for. Especially of the very ornate paulsrons, they have no give at all to keep the arms posable, and they rotate much in the back socket to show up or down posing. I much prefer the smaller softer oauldrons, again like we see on Valak or Duban. Like to give an example that really bugs me, I was super stoked for Apharius, he was hands down my most wanted in his wave. He gets here, I open him, Hurray, Huzzah... until I pit the bow in his hand and tried to raise his arms, or turn his head, so I could get a great mounted archer pose. He just can't. If you remove the pauldrons, they frees up his arms, but he will can't really reach across his chest, you have to fudge an angle. But you can't lose his head either. Soft hair should have in order to keep that ball as mobile as possible. And the figure went in a vanilla pose, near the back of my shelf, to be reserved as the prop a more posable figure sits on. That was a hard bummer man, especially as not much later, I lay hands on the Axy Toys carnotaurus, and he's so posable even with all the bits and bobs on him. Clearly, he's more articulated, so it's not a fair comparison entirely but that Sting of a figure that disappointed, followed closely by a figure that delighted, that's why I'm give off Mythic Legions. That, and honestly, space. Despite my complaints, I still love the property, I love the connection of figures I've assembled, and it bugs me to or any of them in storage, so at some point, I either have to sell off every other toy I own, or I have to stop acquiring. This feels like the right time to offboard for me, mostly. I'm still in on that dragon they've been teasing for years, I still want the bear they teased for Attlus, and I'm open to being wowed from time to time. But man, the bar to be wowed has come up significantly recently, Spero Toys is killing it, that not-warcraft orc from Mithril Studio is an instant classic, Loose Collector just dropped Monster Hyde... there's a ton out there competing for my interest/money.
@DorkLair Жыл бұрын
@@kiltedcripple Yeah those double elbows, double knees, and butterfly joints on the AWOK figures get fantastic range that's for sure. Definitely a better option for collectors who prioritize extreme movement.
@uncardedreviews9721 Жыл бұрын
I think that this is a good point of conversation 🤔 I'm relatively new to seriously collecting Mythic Legions (going on my 3rd year now) and the lack of articulation seems to be a common concern with some collectors. Have you ever considered customizing your Legions and outfitting them with pieces that would increase their utility, for how you are wanting to use them? I enjoy Kitbashing, and modify most figures that I get to maximize my enjoyment of them. I think that Mythic Legions have a lot of potential for customizers. AWOK looks like a great line too, and I can't wait to get my hands on some Savage Crucible figures. I enjoyed reading about your experience with Legions and your suggestions are definitely something to think about 😎👍 Cheers 🍻
