We used to make a "Brown Cow" when I was a kid w root beer, choc syrup and milk. The adults would make theirs with Kahlua. Sometimes, we would use Pepsi instead of root beer and call it a "Black Cow".

I can't even cap, Josh was the inspiration of 70 lbs of weight loss, after I saw old photos of him sneaking into Guy Fieris party I said to myself, if he can do it why can't I, and I now wear shirts as tight as Josh, even though I still have a while to go I will get there.

I am definitely on Team Food Crime where pilk is concerned. I remember watching an old syndicated episode of Laverne & Shirley when I was about 5, in which Laverne drinks pilk. I thought it sounded interesting so I went into the kitchen and made some. It was the first time in my conscious memory that I had ever eaten anything that was so horrible it made me vomit immediately. I've never forgotten that horrific flavor.

The “Laverne & Shirley” days when Laverne used to drink milk mixed with Pepsi onscreen. The show started back in 1976, but I am not sure when they first showed off this drink. It is supposed to be 50:50. You only do about 10% Pepsi.

the Pepsi and milk combination drink was highly popularized in the 1970s by Penny Marshall as Laverne DeFazio on the sitcom Laverne & Shirley. I'm not sure where it was first invented Penny Marshall said in her autobiography that she and her siblings used to drink it in Brooklyn growing up. she made it part of her character on the sitcom

When I first heard about cola-milk a few years ago (as Coke-Milk from Golden Girls or something) I got super interested and had to try it. I liked it and had it many times, but every time I drank it, it upset my stomach (because of the curdling milk, I guess). I've since stopped drinking it to avoid the consequence, but I wish I could continue to enjoy it. This was a very fun episode! Both dishes looked super good. :) Get better soon, Nicole!

I really enjoyed the GMM episodes over the years… but I only watch the kitchen now, and the kitchen podcast. I feel like R and L have become a bit to “commercial” in recent seasons. A bit of a turn off for my kids too. There is always the push to purchase stuff…. Buying “access” to stuff that really isn’t so mythical anymore. Now, it’s just ….. stuff. I hope kids will find the older more sincere episodes to inspire them. (With that human spirit they were so good at displaying!)

Pepsi and milk isn't an internet thing - my grandfather used to drink it (it was the only way he'd drink Pepsi). And he's been dead since 1980. Also a brown cow is a root beer float made with chocolate ice cream. A little diner that used to be in our local downtown mall back in the 80s sold them.
