I really love this critic because he didn't shy away from the challenging ingredient. He didn't mock the item or even was against it. He was told he was getting a captain crunch-themed experience and he was enthusiastic about it. He even made recommendations to increase the amount of captain crunch.

WOW, such an unexpectedly pleasant man! I was skeptic at the 1st minute of this video cause he reeks pretentiousness, but found none at all! His comments are eloquently insightful and you can really feel they're constructed thoughtfully, and there's this ease to his presence. What I found most intriguing about him is he is the first critic I have seen go into a food tasting without any preconceived ideas and was completely open to trying something completely new and actually giving it a fair shot without any pre-determined bias's just because of what the one ingredient was going to be.

I feel like this series is helping break down any negative preconceptions about food critics from people that feel like it's not a real job. Nah, these dudes have forgotten more about food than you'll ever know, it's on their brain 24/7 and they're travelled all around the world to learn exactly what good food is. They've worked incredibly hard to ensure their opinions are the most coveted by the food industry and consumers alike. I LOVE this series; it takes a lot of balls to put your work under the most scrutinizing kind of fire there is.

Loved the video. Patrick did a great job of bringing his knowledge and expertise as a food critic to the show but he was also just an interesting guest and it was nice to see how encouraged Josh adding new things to more traditional dishes. It would be great to see Patrick back in a future episode, maybe as a judge in a cook-off between Josh and another famous KZbin chef such as Binging with Babish or even just a mythical kitchen cook off

If you really want to try regardless: Salt dough (5/3 ratio - så 500 grams flour, 300 grams salt, add ca 300ml water gor a malleable dough) wrapped around your turnips for a little over an hour at about 180C. The turnips bake beautifully. A nice sauce etc. and they're a good main course.

Fun fact; the reason why (we here) in Britain call artichokes Jerusalem is due to a mispronounciation of the French name, the French name references the visiblly Heliotropic nature of artichoke flowers. Heliotropic means it follows the sun as it goes around the sky, whilst all plants are heliotropic you can actually see artichoke flowers follow the sun

This has easily become one of my favorite segments! What goes through the mind of a food critic knowing they are getting crazy things. I have honestly been skipping the Last Meal shows. I liked the one with 24k but after that...I just lot interest in it. These are a lot of fun. Thank you for the fun content!
