When people are familiar with this, you can just go "the thing" but otherwise have to explain that you want them to make contact with your hand at a rapid pace, so it produces a sound, without being so hard as to be painful.

Hello Fellow Humans, My great grandfather was in world war 2. He was in the army air core. He was a gunner. Apparently one day him and his buddy decided to switch views. He said the joke was they were tired if seeing their side of the ocean going from England to Germany and France. So they switched one day. His buddy got his head taken right off that day. How insane that they just happen to switch and it saves his life. But a gunnar up in those planes was scary. He was in those bomber planes. That dropped tons of dumb bombs on a target. He said they did a lot of missions and lots of his mates were taken out. It was a high casualty rate. Could you imagine people today being drafted and fighting for everyone? You would have so many cowards and people crying for safe spaces. It was so different back then. Emily would have really done well in the 1940s. Haha.
