hey bro i mained heal since wrath and saw your vids and i started playing lock, im 473 Ilvl and my stats are 23 haste 25 crit 32 mastrery 16 vers and ive played both destro and demonology but i just cant seem to do well even though i think my rotation is correct for the most partas i try to copy you. but my rain of fires do NO dmg lmao any tips

My dps was really low in low key mythics on 424 item level as destro. Skill issue, item level issue, or does it just perform much better at higher keys?

Destro has more ramp time and especially hard to get good numbers on AOE in lower keys. Except you should shine on bosses at all levels. Cataclysm was just buffed and that should help us get our damage going out quicker. Also, highly recommend mouse over macro for havoc. As well as cast on cursor for rain of fire, cataclysm, and AoE stun. Anything you can do to get your CPM (casts per minute) up.

Keep playing and find out. A lot of classes scale super well when they start getting their tier, enchants, sockets, and correct secondary stats going. This dude is doing 25s, though, so don't think your dps is going to look like his anytime soon. People that high are in organised groups that do super clean pulls and know every nuance of their spec. Even if you play just as well as him, he'd still end up doing more dps, because organised groups are way less prone to failing mechanics and can get away with greater risks, which makes their dps even better. A pug tank almost certainly won't pull as much as this tank nor will they pack the mobs together as well, which both have major impacts on the dps meter. Your dps could also be low because if you're doing a low key at this point there's a pretty good shot there's a high ilvl player in the group killing things very quickly and cannibalizing the dps meter. Higher keys things will take longer to die, so you'll have a better dps benchmark to gauge if your dps is as high as it should be. There's also an Aug in his group. His dps meter is showing his dps + the dps his Aug is donating him. Aug revolves around dealing bad personal dps while buffing everyone else's to hopefully balance it out. I use his meter, but one of my friends uses something else that doesn't mix dps values like that, which is probably better for gauging your own performance. If you really want to get good at Destro, don't try to get good at specifically Destro. Try to get good as a dps. Join a guild, get on comms, learn how to communicate in a key. The reason he's doing a 25 and other people who know how to play their spec right are stuck doing 20s and under isn't because he's just that much better at Destro. It's because he knows the dungeons, knows his teammates, knows how to communicate, and how to synergize with his team. Those are just as much, if not more, important than being near your sim damage.

Destro is probably one of the easiest classes in the game IMO, smallest rotation ever, skill expression comes in finding ways to reduce movement and time your instant casts during movement. But other than that, maintain immolate DOT, use conflag and incinerate to generate shards, use chaos bolt to spend shards. If it's M+, same thing except Rain of Fire instead of CB. I picked Destro as my alt because I love warlock class fantasy and I wanted something easier to play.

@@JustinTheDevdestro, as most specs in the game except beast mastery, is not that easy to min max. Every spec is easy. Every spec is hard. All of the specs got dumbed down to few buttons but all of them (except BM) have a lot of stuff goin on to min max dmg. This is coming from enh shammy - the hardest spec in the game

Yea it's either you play cata, and still spam ROF, but lose the ROF dmg without the talent. Or you play ROF right, and hard cast all the immolates.@@mythickall

@@moejassimm inferno for shard generation over cata. Only use cata in lower keys or when you know you will not get maximum value out of rain of fire. Example would be the pulls dying too quickly for you to apply immolation to each add. In that case cata and rain of fire allows you to keep up. In higher keys if the tank is good they will pull into your rain of fire.

I think rain of fire should be innate to the spec instead of a talent, just like blizzard is to frost mages now. Every spec should have at least one aoe ability that is not a talent

This dungeon is more or less a perfect scenario for Destro in terms of high mob count, a boss to two target cleave and damage amp bosses making infernals on bosses look really strong. You'll find Demo will do much better in all the other dungeons really.@@mikeb9740

Demonic Circle removing snares and roots is good, and the extra cookie health is great. I have also used it a couple times on a drain life to keep me alive, but mostly for circle and cookies. Not relevant now, but when you used Nether Portal, it would summon a demon as well.

Movespeed on ports and it breaks roots and makes u immune to them, instant cast gateway and if you use it before healthstone its basically lay on hands for you. If you dont wanna micro it you can just make macros for all those spells with soulburn infont

its not good in higher keys, its better to use inferno for the shard generation to pump out more rain of fires. One can get 10+ in one spot easily if the tank keeps adds still. With cata you would maybe get 5 6 max. Cata has 30 second cool down so you have 10 seconds of 0 immolation edit: but realistically tanks will never stand still and inferno is a pipe dream. Its nice when it works, when it does not. oh well
