I signed up and Amazon’s fee is quoted as 12% for me. Process was smooth and I got okayed in 24 hrs the application fee refunded. Making the listings is confusing me atm though. Steep learning curve.

Almost everything you listed as a con for Amazon is a plus for me. I have a huge fear of strangers having had bad experiences with craigslist, etc. encounters, so I love the idea of not being involved with the potential buyers. Thank you for all the info.

Wrong type of account. You have to apply for Amazon handmade

The pro seller account Waves the fee, but you have to keep 40 items per month listed. Otherwise, you have to sign up for individual account and pay the fee

It's not free. I was accepted to the program this week. Their email requests an initial payment of $39.99, but additional monthly payments are waived.

Steve, I'm not sure that Etsy and Amazon Handmade are worth the effort anymore. Both can now hurt the image of your brand. Especially if you target affluent customers. Is it not better to focus on organic, FB, IG, Pinterest, ppc, to drive traffic to your own site?

The answer is yes. I created this video because Etsy has made some made huge changes in just the past few months. Amazon handmade is one of the best alternatives

@mywifequitherjob I understand. I used to do well on Etsy. But their priorities and goals have definitely changed. Among other things. They now want sellers to compete on price. Which is a race to the bottom.
