@@ahmetgunduz4159The Temu and SheIn problem . It's a data theft business . They are malware. They are owned by CCP officials. If you've ever browsed through social media, chances are you've come across advertisements that seem to offer pretty good deals. And when you click through, you find yourself on a Chinese marketplace. One of these is Shein, a fashion retail company based in Nanjing, China. The other is Temu, an online marketplace similar to Amazon, but based out of China, and with most of its goods shipped directly from China. These companies are now coming under scrutiny, both in the United States and in the European Union. And as the controversy unfolds, there's a chance policies could affect them in a similar way to the Tik Tok restrictions.

The 50 units I received from China were All defective, not one worked. I was told I could get a refund, or replacement, upon shipping the item back. I checked with the major delivery services that ship to China, and the best price I could find to return the items was $600 !!! That's almost double what I paid for them. So in short, I was screwed. I agree. DC Politics should create higher level criteria to what imported goods are made of or come from. If that’s calculated in import fees or this means banning cheap knock-of quality products, the market would be a lot healthier and blossom a more level playing field. You can’t trust on commercial giants to protect the market and think of others and the greater good. This is where government should step in to protect consumers, local sellers, employees and all others who are negatively affacted by these race-to-the-bottom competitions. You can’t trust on Chinese production criteria either. Someday we’ll pay the price of today’s Chinese bargain. In health issues (paint, plastics), in climate change or increasing US unemployments and bankrupties. Not to mention spiraling values and principles in our humane society. When you say that building you own website for a better brand recognition you’re right. Factories make "white label" items, which are the same products sold at cost to the venders. Many brands pay extra to put their logos on the pre-made items so they can sell them to customers at a markup. That's how the same item is sold under different names and different prices.

I was so grateful for Temu, Shein, DHGates. I could not believe that Amazon sellers are selling the same exact product for 10 times the amount and the best thing is that we get the items in one package. Caribbean people ship from a US Mailbox and the receiving shipping company on the islands charges for each piece which carries up the very high.

Its not seller fault. Seller profit is too low no matter what the price is due to amazon fees. I made sale of 750 CAD in 4 months where amzon fees was 475 CAD. I made only 40$ profit and amazon had made 475$ without doing anything.
@NowFaithIs315 ай бұрын
@@sham-e-tanhaie Sorry about this is situation. As a buyer from Amazon returns and bulk pallets, there is a huge implication. I don't sell on FBA but I see a TON of abandoned FBA product in the bulk pallets. These are items FBA sellers decided they didn't want to keep paying to inventory and did not want back, or they expired or had some other issue. Amazon doesn't care. They just throw them into the bulk pallets and auction them off for pennies. If Amazon starts deeply undercutting FBA sellers, a lot of FBA sellers will throw up hands and walk away from a LOT of this merchandise, which will eventually flood the bulk pallet sales. The bottom is about to fall out of the bulk pallet sales and all that abandoned FBA stuff is going to flood the channels that resell it. Wow. A tidal wave is coming.

Honestly it's just going to be another channel through which too much product is flowing into the market from. I do a good deal of curb shopping because I live near some very expensive residential real estate and the amount of perfectly usable merchandise that is being thrown away in these neighborhoods is positively unreal! We have become a disposable society where people are encouraged to buy things they don't need and to throw away things that still have plenty of life left in them. It's all a churn and burn model that keeps shifting from one source to the next and one consumer to the next with no more goal than to get people to keep buying things so that the factories and infrastructure have a reason to justify their existence. Honestly one has to wonder where does it all end?

NO. I researched TEMU. It’s parent company was busted for being used by Chinese Military. Nothing is free. They give such cheap prices because the reL goal is to get into your cell phone. They had to use military level searches to find how the conpany was able to get into your phone undetected. They will be able to turn off the phones of anyone that purchased from them. All at once. Temu is a child of that company. Komando Kim has had an astute website for decades, updating people on how to improve your tech life and secure your computers, etc. She and others who help people to navigate programs snd security tested Temu and said to stay the bleep away. Even the military had a hard time finding where and how they breach your phone. It’s fine if you don’t believe me. I don’t want to re-research the details, but the gyst of what I have shared is real.

I’ve been a regular Amazon shopper for over ten years. But in the last year I discovered Temu and SHEIN. I started shopping once a month from each of them. This is how I do it. I’m particular about my shopping system. It’s always a balance between a need and a want. First I would need an item. Then I shop for it on Amazon and other US merchants. Since I only shop on Temu once a month I take my time shopping inside US first compare prices compare qualities then scrutinize all these variables with what Temu offers for a third of a price. I pick my items hold them on Temu cart while I’m still vetting the same items from US sellers. Then almost at the end of the month once I’ve exhausted my research and Temu offers what I think is the best option in all the categories then I click buy. Lately Temus shipping has been speedier. But SHEIN has faster delivery time than Temu.

Sethmeth, it can sound like a part time job sometimes but I’m retired. So time is not an issue to me. Overseeing my spending habit has been a priority even before I retired. I have two grown boys but when they were young I taught them the principle of needs and wants. And they have developed the same habits. Two days ago I purchased a down alternative bed topper for one of our beds. Went back and forth with it on Amazon Temu. I considered all variables pros and cons between the two. Temu had many non branded toppers your brain gets dizzy sorting them out. Some almost look like the ones on Amazon picture wise and features. In the end I decided to buy one from Amazon because the price was about a few dollars more and if I found something wrong with it I could quickly pack it up and return it no questions asked. Also it’s something I’ll be using for a long time so I decided Amazon was a better seller for it. Every item can be vetted and the consumer ends up the winner. Just needs a bit of effort. And little more dollars in your pocket. 😊

Sadly many other non-clothing items I've purchased from Temu didn't have any quality at all. One thing I've noticed recently is prices being raised at Temu. Now they've made a name for themselves I believe the honeymoon may be over. For example, I'm a keen model builder. Their Lego Technics knockoffs were an unbelievable bargain. $16 compared to Lego's $120. But two kits had parts missing, many kits come in plastic bags (no boxes) and I've been stumped by some instructions, even though the manual appears to be of decent quality. Those cheaper kits are now around $25 with the better quality kits up to $50 - $65. Better than Lego's prices, but when spending that much I don't expect missing parts.

lol.. that's what I have been doing. I research product on Amazon and then buy from Temu the exact same item for 1/10th of the price than on Amazon.

5:04 those neckbands are different. just because they look similar does not make it the same.

Different how? When all said and done they might have a different name or color but it is all the same from same location and manufacturer.

@@scamchan you can have two items that look identical but specced very different quality of lithium ion cells, fan technocology.quality of material. But these are different design, so they will have very different manufacturing cost.

@@Professional_KZbin_Commenter That indeed is true. You get what you pay for. Stands to reason.

@@Professional_KZbin_Commenter No way a China seller will sell a top quality item for the same cheap price as a low quality one. So indeed all of the look alike items are indeed the same item.

For back to school we used SHEIN and Temu over everything here. We planned ahead for shipping and saved bank.

Well, listen up, people! I have purchased from both Amazon and Temu. I have ordered clothes, shoes, cosmetics, costume jewelry, and miscellaneous household items from Temu. I have returned all of the clothes and shoes, most of the jewelry and miscellaneous items to Temu because the fabrics and the quality of the other stuff are crap. I'd say about 90% of what I had bought. So Amazon is still my main store, not just for the fast shipping but because I can count on the quality of the products.

So as a US based business and citizen, I have to pay duties and taxes, but foreigners can sell cheap junk without paying a dime? Yea that makes a lot of sense 3:53

One reason they don't pay US taxes themselves, is that they pay Chinese taxes. Just as you would pay taxes in France if you lived in France (unless you made a lot, in which case the US government might tax you on top of the French taxes)

@@Leto2ndAtreideseven if you don’t make a lot of money the US now requires tax be paid on overseas income. A US girl working at a restaurant in Europe was horrified when US agent harassed her to pay tax on her income even though it wasn’t high. It was a video here on utube.

USA citizens have to file taxes to the USA no matter where they live. It's so you can't hide money overseas (unless you pay a really good lawyer and accountant to help you). Americans living overseas, who don't want to do those filings, also discover that renouncing their citizenship is as hard as getting it (if you are not born in the USA).

So if your business happens to sell stuff to, say, France, you want to pay French taxes too? And how do we know your stuff is not junk, even if it isn’t cheap?
