My 50 yr. old son drove for Coke delivering nearly 800 cases around town to 30 businesses...he hated that part...lol! My wife and I did a festival in Willard near your homestead. We secretly called our kettlecorn 'kettle-crack' because of the addictive nature it had. 50 folks in line waiting for the next batch. Everybody loved us (or the product) and we made many many friends over the years. But not so strangely not a single one of them would buy Paul's Evangel...they didn't want to hear of it. They loved their religion with all the vestments, music, and sacramental chants. It made them happy. But I'd ask "can anybody be happy about 90% of humanity going to eternal fiery torment?" Standard answer "Well thats God's business or they wouldn't be there, so they must deserve it" Kettle-Crack with Coke.

THAT WAS A PAUSE THAT REFRESHES! Paul is the pause that energizes. I smiled through the whole show just thinking of myself waiting in that line, patiently and so worthy of such an absolutely valueless concoction. Isn’t that the world that we live in! When you mentioned the women at the well and Jesus’ truth that once we get that mostly water coca-cola, we will thirst again, I had an epiphany. As with all of us, this life has been a walk of weariness, a dessert of dry mouth, a dirge of disappointment. So many times we have been beaten and pressed down. Haven’t we had our hopes dashed while craving earthly things? Haven’t we felt alone and isolated? It has been a hard road through hard times. I never understood having a well of water that would spring up eternally. Lately, I do. I feel this living water washing away my scattered, selfish dreams. I laugh more often at my mistakes, my clumsiness, my awkwardness, my forgetfulness. I am now ok with my deaf right ear, my eye that has lost 25% of its clarity. Hell, I have 75% left! I am in my 80th year! Hell, I may have a few years left! Life is so good stripped of so many false hopes. I still like Coca-Cola though! As a very old person, our blessed hope seems so near. It makes our blessed hope more clear and present. Joy is more forthcoming. Praising our Savior and our Father proves to me that God inhabits the praises of His people. What a wonderful life! And we even have Coca Cola!!!!!!

Absolutely Martin. We don't want to go any deeper into this satanic eon than we have to! Paul put that forward as well and I appreciate it. All the places where Paul said, and I paraphrase, to shun this eon! Within reason I assume, he meant. Because our true home, is heavenly! And Martin , this perspective is conducive to "holding on loosely" as you've said, (thank you!) , and holding on loosely is conducive to not wanting to be more worldly than we need to be under God.

I ran track in high school in college. I worked so hard to be as fast as I could. And there were still people with natural gifts that were faster than me and didn’t work as hard. God gives gifts to people. Either you got it or you don’t.That’s what I’ve learned in life when it comes to ambition and working hard. Do the best you can, but God has limitations on you that he may not put on other people.

I used to be crazy ambitious when I was younger, even into my late 30’s. I originally went into the military at 19 and got so many amazing opportunities like being a singer in the army band and a performer in the army soldier show. I built multiple businesses and worked in sales and was pretty successful with a lot of my ventures. Yet, I would also go through bouts of depression because of the Christian religion trying to make me feel shame if I wasn’t “100% doing it for The Lord!” This life has been a mass of confusion and fear BECAUSE of the Christian religion and its tentacles 🦑 ruining everything making it about you either being a “good Christian” or “loving the world,” yet the more I have come to a knowledge of the actual truth I realize NEITHER are true and the love for this world has faded into oblivion, while at the same time I have ZERO DESIRE to “work FOR God,” but instead am finding a place of total peace in the chaos knowing now that I have fully given up and he is working and willing THROUGH me and I like this much more and I just have zero fear about anything these days. This Coca-Cola analogy is wonderful and offers further evidence on the way people gravitate to transient pleasure, as opposed to the evangel of the grace of God. Coke? I hate the stuff and have so for decades. The last time that I drank the carbonated sugar water with caramel flavoring known as Coke was in the mid-1990s, when I stopped drinking this infamous libation. If Coke is the real thing, why is the formula is closely guarded secret that is reportedly kept in a vault? Let's get real: Coke is just calories and unknown ingredients of dubious merit, none of which contribute to health. I have used Coke to remove oil stains from my driveway. That worked beautifully for me. That's the only benefit of Coke that springs to mind. Introducing Santa Claus into the mix a brilliant marketing move, for now a fictional character endorses a drink of fictional benefits. Coke and Santa make a dynamic but deadly duo.

Martin and anyone who has an answer, please feel free to chime in. I am sorry that this is an off-topic question, but there is not another group of people who could even possibly have an answer. I came across something the other day when I was talking to a friend of mine who is "well versed" in Scripture, but not a believer in the two gospels. I was talking about the consummation of the ages, and he mentioned that the consummation of the ages was mentioned in Hebrews, which is true. I didn't really have a comeback because I was stumped at that moment on how to explain that the message given to Paul is the only message relevant to us today. I know that Paul wrote Hebrews, but I am unsure how to answer the fact that the consummation of the ages was not written by Paul to the 'called out ones' in the letters set apart to us. How do you make that fit? We talk so much about the consummation of the ages when God will be all in all. Any help or clarity on this will be much appreciated. JV

Perhaps I don't understand your question, but in Hebrews 9:26, I believe Paul is talking about the conclusion of eons 1-3. He's not talking about the all-in-all. Even so, the all-in-all consummation is for everyone, not just the body of Christ.

@@TylerSeeley211 Thank you for that. Yes, my question could probably have been asked better. The conclusion of the eons is indeed what is being talked about there. And the conclusion of the eons does lead to everything being subjected to Christ and then Christ handing it over to the Father so that He will be all in all. I guess I am trying to understand why those messages would not both be in the separate letters of Paul, given that the people Hebrews was written for have no idea of anything about the consummation of the ages or about the fact that God will be all in all. Your statement about the consummation being for everyone (as it clearly is), is quite possibly the simplicity of it. It is just difficult to get people to see the two gospels, the secret hidden in God and not revealed until the Risen Christ revealed it to Paul and that Paul's letters are separate...when one of our biggest messages is the glory of the consummation of the ages when God's plan and purpose comes completely together; and it is only stated in the letter to the Hebrews, not in Romans or Corinthians or Ephesians or Colossians. I thought perhaps there was an explanation about that, and I did not know it. Again, thank you for your thoughts and willingness to share them. :)

In fact, Paul DOES teach on the consummation to the body of Christ, in fact very plainly in 1 Corinthians 15:24. Here's the verse with the context: (1 Corinthians 15:21-26)-- For since, in fact, through a man came death, through a Man, also, comes the resurrection of the dead. 22 For even as, in Adam, all are dying, thus also, in Christ, shall all be vivified. 23 Yet each in his own class: the Firstfruit, Christ; thereupon those who are Christ's in His presence; 24 thereafter the consummation, whenever He may be giving up the kingdom to His God and Father, whenever He should be nullifying all sovereignty and all authority and power. 25 For He must be reigning until He should be placing all His enemies under His feet. 26 The last enemy is being abolished: death. This is the main teaching we use to teach on the consummation of the eons. In fact, I could make the argument that, in Hebrews 3:14 and 6:11, Paul isn't even talking about the consummation of the eons. Remember, "consummation" is a generic word. The word is not specific to any evangel. When you finish dinner, you CONSUMMATE dinner. So there's nothing special about the word itself. But in the 1 Cor. passage, Paul IS talking about the consummation of the eons because of WHAT WILL HAPPEN AT THAT TIME. So you see? The consummation of the eons WAS written by Paul to the called-out ones, we know that for sure. But we can't be sure that, in Hebrews, the consummation of THE EONS in view. It may be a relative consummation there, that is, the consummation of their faith. Or maybe the consummation of dinner. Hope this helps, JV. Glad you found this channel. P.S. If your friend doesn't see the two gospels, then he's not too well-versed in the Scriptures after all. 😮

I cannot believe that I didn't see it for this occasion. And your description of everything is on point as usual.
