നാടിനെ നടുക്കിയ കുമരകം ബോട്ട് ദുരന്തം സംഭവിച്ചിട്ട് ഇന്ന് ഇരുപത് വർഷം തികയുന്നു. ആലപ്പുഴ മുഹമ്മയിൽനിന്ന് മുന്നൂറോളം യാത്രക്കാരുമായി കുമരകത്തേക്ക് പോയ ബോട്ടാണ് അപകടത്തിൽപ്പെട്ടത്. ദുരന്തത്തിൽ 29 ജീവനുകൾ നഷ്ടമായി.
