Just a comment in regard to the white glue and residue from it. A bit of acetone on a cloth or paper towel takes all that off. You probably won't see any seam at all. I've covered my last few planes with this. Works great.

I'm a pattern flyer and enjoy watching videos of these vintage kits that still exist today. The SupraStar by EZ looks to be an awesome plane, it's a real shame classics like these are not made anymore.

Value Hobby is great. I purchase their Gforce motors from them all the time and they're a much better and cheaper alternative to the Rimfires which are always backordered or out of stock. I also used their checkerboard covering to cover my TF P-51 in the Big Beautiful Doll scheme. And Horizon is the EA of our hobby.

I found this video by searching for "Neucover" on KZbin to see if there were any videos on the covering. Hey! I have a Killer Kaos still in the box. I like your color scheme. I also like the you like Neucover, because it looks like that's what us old-schoolers are going to be using in the future. Especially if we want something red. Last week I bought a 120-sized Super Sportster, still in the box from one of the guys at my club, so I have plenty to use the Neucover on. What I want to do is put retracts in my Kaos like you have. Do you have any views of what you have there that you can share? Thanks for taking the time to make this video. It gives me confidence to purchase Neucover from Value Hobby.

I heard the talk about the potential demise of Monokote and stocked up on my favorite colors. Then, a couple of months ago, Tower had a big Monokote sale. I notices a two tier structure with the classic colors being at good sale price and the more diverse colors being at a killer sale price. I looked at that and went through the non-classic colors and and asked myself if I might use it as a trim scheme or for a smaller project. If I said yes, I bought a role. I also got some more of my favorite colors. Among the diverse colors, some were out of stock and discontinued. Among the classic colors, some were out of stock and labeled as on order. One of my favorites, orange, was OOS and on order and it did come back in stock (and on sale) and I got some of it then. I think the message may well be that Monokote selection is being reduced to the most popular colors.

I've just received 3 rolls of this covering and it looks good but I haven't tried it yet but it was a perfect match to there line of arfs too! Have had a good experience with their line of RC arfs so far!

Andy, I discovered your channel today, Thanks for the video on Value hobbies covering, I too am looking for a Monokote replacement so I will try this Neucover. I started flying in 1970 and the demise of our suppliers is hard to get past.. still looking for some product replacements.. Was there a follow up video on the Kaos after the covering was done, I did not find any. I was interested in the Madien flight if possiable.. Thanks for the videos and input on products..

I have used the hobbyking covering and was really happy with it. It too has white adhesive. However, I used some cellulose thinners and it cleared up the white lines where covering is over covering. Not sure if that’s relevant to yours but thought I’d share it anyway! Thanks for the great content as always! I learn a lot from your videos and really appreciate you sharing your experience!

I am also a Monokote person, not a fan of Ultracote. The Neucover looks good, but they lack colors, bummer. I don't trust Horizon Hobby either, but until they discontinue Monokote I will keep using it.

I am a big fan of the ultracote it will shrink alot better I am a builder and hate all these companies and products are gone even worse people are hoarding kits up and not to build but I have never liked monokote because it is more work on corners and does not shrink as well but you are right the monokote does have a better finish I just ordered a couple rolls of the neucover because I got 16ft rolls for 15 bucks vs 6 ft of the other brand glad you have a video on it was a bit unsure of it being good on a side note the ultracote I have used in the past few years has been horrible if you have to pull it off it just comes apert as far as the color and clear layers the carl goldberg never was like that

The Neucover, from Value Hobby, you discuss, may very well be the same stuff I've bought from Hobbyking & Bangood over the years. Easy to use, variable temp control. However, the backing is fiddley to get off. I buy it because I live on the other side of the planet to you, so… buying stuff from the States is expensive. Enjoyed your video. Thanks.

Wow that looks good. The biggest beef I have with Ultracote is it won't stay tight. Sitting out on the flight line for a day it would need a bit of shrinking. I don't mind the duller finish but I'm totally with you ... prefer Monocote

I just finished and ARF Phoenix Models "Aurora" it's covered with oracover, and it's pathetic, had wrinkles that won't iron or heat gun out, no matter how many times I heat it. Maybe it was the wood finishing but it drives me nuts. It's a shame too, because it had a nice trim scheme. I have a Trainer 60 I need to recover, so this may be an option, thanks bud!

I have had some alright results with some of the cheaper coverings on my planes and I found a simple acetone wipe down in parts where there is some of the adhesives is showing and it doesn't entirely go away but will get rid of most of it. for some parts, I will run a knife edge to scape some of it off and then wipe it down again. something that might be worth trying when covering over covering is sticking the edges down first with a bit more heat (im not sure if you did it this way) and then heating in while being careful to not crease it of course. I have been able to avoid most cases of edges pulling in this way.

Hey Andrew, have you ever tried Oracover I have always loved it for covering they also have a product called Oratex which is identical to solartex which is no longer made. The Oratex is good if you want fabric covering on a model. The oracover has a really really nice finish too it and it's super easy to apply. Just might be another option for you if you haven't tried it before :)
