Hi Sam, UK viewer and Muslim here. Just to clarify for you due to the language barrier, The white cloth that you saw the men wearing is called the "Ihraam", for men, its a 2 piece white cotton thick cloth that they must wrap around their body and waist, for women, they must cover their entire body. The Ihraam represents purity and cleanliness in Islam, and that we are all equal, regardless of how much wealth/status you have, we are all equal in God's eyes. It also represents what a person will be wrapped in when they die, 2 pieces of cloth. Then in terms if what is the "Miqaat", this is the checkpoint where all men and women must be in the "state of Ihraam", as they have now reached the checkpoint for Umrah/Hajj, now they cannot take off their Ihram until they have completed their Umrah. The Miqaat is different for everyone, as it depends on which direction/country you come from towards Jeddah airport for Umrah/Hajj. In case u were wondering what's Umrah & Hajj and the difference - Umrah is the small pilgrimage that can be done any time of the year, but Hajj is the main pilgrimage, and only takes place on the 12th Islamic month (Dhul Hijjah), hence its great significance to us. Hope this helps, and great video.

Allah states that He has cursed the disbelievers among the Children of Israel long ago, and revealed this fact to His Prophets Dawud and `Isa, son of Maryam. He cursed them because they disobeyed Allah and transgressed against His creatures. The Last Sermon Of Prophet Muhammad (p.b.u.h.) This sermon was delivered on the Ninth day of Dhul-Hijjah, 10 A.H. ( 623AD) in the Uranah valley of Mount Arafat in Mecca. It was the occasion of annual rites of Haj. It is also known as the Farewell Pilgrimage. After praising and thanking Allah the Prophet (p.b.u.h.) began with the words: "O People! Lend me an attentive ear, for I know not whether after this year I shall ever be amongst you again. Therefore, listen carefully to what I am saying and take these words to those who could not be present here today." "O People! just as you regard this month, this day ,this city as sacred ,so regard the life and property of every Muslim a sacred trust. Return the goods entrusted to you to their rightful owners. Hurt no one so that no one may hurt you. Remember that you will indeed meet your Lord, and that he will indeed reckon your deeds." "Allah has forbidden you to take usury, therefore all interest obligation shall henceforth be waived. Your capital is yours to keep .You will neither inflict nor suffer any inequality. Allah has judged that there shall be no interest and that all interest due to Abbas Ibn 'Aal-Muttalib be waived." "Every right arising out of homicide in pre-Islamic days is henceforth waived and the first such right that I waive is that arising from the murder of Rabiah ibni al-Harithiah." "O men! the unbelievers indulge in tampering with the calendar in order to make permissible that which Allah forbade, and to prohibit what Allah has made permissible. With Allah the months are twelve in number. Four of them are holy, there are sucessive and one occurs singly between the months of Jumada and Shaban." "Beware of Satan, for the safety of your religion. He has lost all hope that he will be able to lead you astray in big things so beware of following him in small things." "O People it is true that you have certain rights with regard to your women but they also have rights over you. Remember that you have taken them as your wives only under Allah's trust and with His permission. If they abide by your right then to them belongs the right to be fed and clothed in kindness. Do treat your women well and be kind to them for they are your partners and committed helpers. And it is your right that they do not make friends with any one of whom you do not approve, as well never to be unchaste." "O People! listen to me in earnest, worship Allah, say your five daily prayers, fast during month of Ramadan, and give your wealth in Zakat .Perform Haj if you can afford it." "All mankind is from Adam and Eve, an Arab has no superiority over a non-Arab nor a non-Arab has any superiority over an Arab; also a White has no superiority over a Black nor a Black has any superiority over a White except by piety and good action. Learn that every Muslim is a brother to every Muslim and that the Muslims constitute one brotherhood. Nothing shall be legitimate to a Muslim which belongs to a fellow Muslim unless it was given freely and willingly." "Do not therefore do injustice to yourselves. Remember one day you will meet Allah and answer your deeds. So beware, do not astray from the path of righteousness after I am gone." "O People! No Prophet or apostle will come after me and no new faith will be born. Reason well, therefore O People! and understand words that I convey to you. I leave behind me two things, the Quran and the Sunnah and if you follow these you will never go astray." "All those who listen to me shall pass on my words to others and those to others again; and may the last ones understand my words better than those who listen to me directly." "O Allah, be my witness, that I have conveyed your message to Your people." As part of this sermon, the prophet recited to them a revelation from Allah, which he had just received, and which completed the Quran, for it was the last passage to be revealed: This day the disbeliever's despair of prevailing against your religion, so fear them not, but fear Me (Allah)! This day have I perfected for you, your religion and fulfilled My favor unto you, and it hath been My good pleasure to choose Islam for you as your religion. (Surah 5, Ayah 3) The sermon was repeated sentence by sentence by Safwan's brother Rabiah (RA), who had powerful voice, at the request of the Prophet and he faithfully, proclaimed to over ten thousand gathered on the occasion. Towards the end of his sermon, the Prophet asked "O people, have I faithfully delivered unto you my message?" A powerful murmur of assents "O Allah! yes!"arose from thousands of pilgrims and the vibrant words "Allahumma Na'm," rolled like thunder throughout the valley. The Prophet raised his forefinger and said: "O Allah bear witness that I have conveyed your message to your people."

I have always thought that these Hajj flights are special, seeing all the different ACMIs helping in during these periods of the year, but have mostly only looked at it from a logistical point of view... Well that view has definitely changed after watching this video! The logistics are indeed unbelievable, but so are the people behind the operation, and also the pilgrims. As someone who has flown multiple times already, yet only being in my 20s, I cannot imagine the excitement of the pilgrims who have been waiting for this moment all their life, and not only that, but it is usually also their first flight in most cases... I'm Indonesian and Muslim, and watching this brings tears to my eyes because it's something very close to my heart. Fifteen years ago, I lost my grandfather during his Hajj pilgrimage. He passed away while fulfilling this sacred journey, not due to any incidents, but simply because it was his time to return to the mighty Creator. According to Saudi law, deceased pilgrims cannot be sent back to their home country, so my grandfather was buried in Saudi Arabia. We were heartbroken when we received the news, but we also found solace knowing that he passed away while undertaking such a noble and revered journey. We believe he now holds a special place by God's side. May he rest in peace. Thank you very much for covering this flight. I've been an avid fan of yours for a long time, and I must say, this is my favorite video of yours. I also felt deeply for you regarding the food poisoning incident, but I'm relieved it turned out well in the end and that you still managed to gracefully proceed with the video. When people go for hajj they have to be prepare everything, they must be sincere, strong, and surrender to God on this journey. Even saying goodbye to the family waiting at home became a very touching and difficult moment. That's why this pilgrimage is so special. Even I, who watched it, felt very sad and moved. Shout out for the crew who have served them well

The elderly man who was transported in a chair up to the cabin (in the beginning scene) may not return home, and be buried in Mecca. He likely had bid his family goodbye before embarking on his Hajj pilgrimage. All hajj pilgrims understand the consequences, they and their families had prepared for the worst mentally and financially. Hajj pilgrimage is a one-time obligation only for those who are capable/prepared. That explains how the significance of hajj pilgrimage for Muslims is.

In Jeddah Airport as well as in the holy cities of Makkah and Madine, I observed that the Indonesian Hajj groups, though large in numbers, were one the most organized, disciplined and devoted. They would all dress similarly, move gently in groups, chorus the prayer chants and follow the guides/ leaders, while performing a requirement of the Hajj or just moving from one place to another. Rest of the Ummah has many things to learn from the Indonesian Hajjis, the Hajj related service providers and Indonesian Govt.

Sam, Loved your documentary for the pilgrimage. That's awesome. You are able to partake with the pilgrimage journey once in your lifetime. Thank you for sharing your experience with them. As a muslim, we dream of going to Hajj once in a lifetime if you can save a lot of money. Stay blessed.

One of the best of your videos I ever seen. It shows humbleness and peace, and I was about to cry, especially for the flight attendent who showed so much patience and respect for passengers.

Don't know why, but I'm crying while watching this video. I do hope someday I can go for Hajj with my husband. Also, I do hope I can be a Hajj officer someday. Thank you Sam for bringing this touching video!
