I replaced the turbo pump, now I’m trying to locate the coolant temperature sensor to replace that too but I can’t locate it on my 2011 bmw 750i

I have a bmw f25 and changed the radiator, water pump and thermostat about 3 months ago all is fine until yesterday it overheated.. Not sure which way to go now.
@jcx2bby2 жыл бұрын
Why did you change all that to begin with? And are there any codes showing now?
@jdrs42143 жыл бұрын
Rock Auto!!! That’s your problem son!!! You need to get the OEM part. Many cars these days are “smart” and “know”when you put on a Chinese aftermarket part on it. The aftermarket parts always throw slightly skewed feedback to the ecu or pcm, so it picks up on it, and gives you a “something’s amiss here son” code, and limps the car. These cars are never be truly satisfied, until you get the oem replacement.

If it goes on after 30m drive does it mean it needs Coolant?
@jcx2bby11 ай бұрын
Do you mean if the warning goes off after 30 min? Have you checked the coolant tanks yet? On the N63 there are 2 coolant tanks and both are easy to check.

@@cindybesitos8933 coolant and antifreeze are the same thing. Buy the actual BMW coolant from the dealer, it isn't that much over generic coolant at the parts store. Fill up both tanks. Is it possible that its just the sensor or it has to be the pump
@jcx2bby5 ай бұрын
@@dennismd1 the sensor for this is in the pump, so I would say it almost doesn't matter. You'll be replacing the pump either way. Before you change anything, check and see if the pump is actually working after you shut the car off. If you don't feel any vibration or hear any slight humming noise from that pump, it's dead that needs to be changed

Thank you for the video. I replaced my pump with OEM like you did. However, I still have three codes showing up. Warning light still comes on and then goes away. 20A608 pump actuation, 1F0201 internal error, and 20A504 electrical line break. Any thoughts are appreciated. Thank you
@jcx2bby2 жыл бұрын
Well it seems as though those errors are pretty specific and indicate a wiring problem somewhere. Where, exactly, that "electrical line break" would be I have no idea. Hate to say it but you might be looking at a dealership repair job there. Some things are out of the DIY scope and this might be one of them. That being said, always check fuses and wires as much as you can. Maybe you will get lucky. I wish you luck on this.

My situation is I don’t have any codes or messages on screen but my temperature gauge is jumping from 140 to 250 to 360 back down to 140 in the matter of seconds and it does this for as long as I drive it. The temperature gauge just jumps up and down randomly and sometimes I get the engine temp high, and I notice the engine runs very loud for 5 seconds as if it was overheating then goes away and back to quiet, and the temperature also gradually decreases
@jcx2bby Жыл бұрын
I don't think any stock E70s have a temp gauge,..what is your vehicle? Sounds like a sensor to me regardless.
@Dat550go Жыл бұрын
"Engine running very loud for 5 seconds as if it was overheating" was your cooling fan doing what its supposed to do.

My 2011 535 n55 is overheating and fan comes on more than normal when driving. I changed the oil filter housing gaskets. Ran the pump to bleed the system. It came on and circulating the water. But fan still comes on and overheats. Took to shop to have coolant flush and they said its the water pump, so they didnt flush coolant. But im like, you sure its not the oil thats mixed in coolant system? Because when the screen says engine overheated, the gauge in dash is not saying overheated. Can anyone help?
@jcx2bby2 жыл бұрын
Well, how old is the coolant pump? If the car is overheating, and the pump hasn't been changed recently, it makes sense that it could be the issue. Or at least an issue. I personally don't think a bit of oil in the coolant is enough to make a car overheat, unless you got quarts of it in there.
