late response, but i think this is surprisingly accurate to how the americans vs the soviets acted. the soviets, shooting a satellite with a cia plant still on it: "under no circumstances is he to reenter the spacecraft," then silently firing the missiles. cold. clinical. the american retaliation: "dodge this." action movie-esque. they know what they're doing, and they love it. bravo to the writing on that one.

Wow, what an episode! And for those who do not know, the US did something very similar to what N9 did here in the 80's. But instead of an SR-71, an F-15 Eagle was used, and did indeed destroy a satellite(albeit a US one as part of a test) in orbit. Now I need an F-15 to come in FAK!

@@NovaRaptorTV there's not much *technical* difference between intercepting one's own satellite and someone else's satellite, unless it's actively maneuvering. The big part is the implications of setting up a precedent for essentially *unlimited space warfare* . It would be really interesting to see everyone get out of starting a World War Three now, it might require extending the definition of national airspace a few hundred kilometers up at the very least

Excited to see some escalation. Setting the stage for a Jamestown crisis style conflict. I know it’s another mod to deal with, but BD armoury defensive turrets would be a cool addition. Just placing one could be an escalation. And it would place an impetus to place one first at key lunar locations, since whoever did that would be able to deny the other access, allowing for an organic conflict escalation.

I am aware about Beardy's comment about there not being a Space War in the series, but I could definitely see both sides in this alternate Cold War forming militarized space programs to run in parallel to their civilian programs and that being a detail in the back ground going forward.

Tbh even though they're not adding any further factions, it would be cool if the soviets chinese allies decide this is a step too far and the sino-soviet split occurs, with the KSNA starting up their own domestic rocket production to match up to their former friends... In turn, multiple other middle powers (India , Japan, Brazil, Indonesia, South Africa) could see this as a trend to counter American and soviet space antics and start up their own programs in turn...

Like the trajectory must be wild for it :D with a climb-rate of ... around 35-40k per min? I just wanna say, I think your style of making these episodes is beautiful - equal parts storytelling, let's play, and educational. I have to ask, tho, do you have any plans to make a single-player KSP series with this style? @@N9GamingOfficial kerbal combat system, it’s mod that allows you to make stock missiles and provides an AI that will track and intercept other craft. You can even have ships controlled by AI and have ship battles. There’s a few vids of it in use on KZbin, and I’ve made a couple on my channel. Highly recommend.
