It's also sung at football/soccer when a player is sent off or when fans of the opposing team leave early after a big loss. Sydney FC supporters sang that to Western Sydney Wanderers supporters after the a number of them were leaving after the last goal was score well before full-time (Sydney FC won 5-0).

uh dont you mean a soccer stadium is bigger than a hockey rink? the main reason why hockey fans sound louder than soccer fans is because hockey rinks are indoor, and they are smaller and fans sit closer together. most soccer stadiums are outdoor and people are more spread out. and dont forget in a soccer stadium sound has to travel more

@ALairborneairsoft -- Thank you for your comments. It's nice to talk to someone who has class. Now, let me explain my comments. I did not mean to suggest that Oregon stopped Cam Newton all night. They did not. But they did stop him several times, and a couple of those times were key plays. (Stripping him of the ball and scoring 8 off the turnover; and stopping him at the one yard line.) Auburn won, and Dyer was a true hero. It was a good game. Congratulations to Auburn on the win.

@vinvancent You can't even hear the loudspeaker when the fans really erupt. Also, in 1988, Auburn was beaten by LSU in the final seconds, and the crowd was so loud that it registered on a local seismograph. The game became know as "The Earthquake Game". To try and compare soccer fan bases and football fan bases is like comparing apples and oranges. Football is played differently, and emphasis it put on pivotal moments. That's not to take anything away from soccer fan bases, it's just different.

Why is everyone under the impression that Auburn will be on probation? No one other than ESPN has made any allegations that Auburn has committed any violations. Good thing Auburn has a deeply rooted fan base along with a unique history, because we can roll with the punches, baby. Every school has highs and lows. I know Alabama remembers the 2000s, and Georgia knows the late 90s and early 2000s weren't the best. Now it's our time to step back a make some changes.

The song was being sung because of the anger of the "fighting" bulldogs. I was there. The Georgia players starting the punching, their whole team got up and started moving to the fight. All AU players were still on sideline, and any AU players that were active in fight got thrown out of the game and super chewed out by Chizik and other coaches. Fairley fell into the QB. At his angle of fall, you honestly think he could've planed that? Gimme a break.
@ourmissboo13 жыл бұрын
@rondellw -- You're right that Cam rushed for more yards than LaMichael. But he still didn't play like a Heisman winner. And I still can't get past all the cheating he did in the past. It casts a pall over everything. LaMichael was stopped by Fairley, and some of it was fair and square, but some of it was not. Fairley grabbed LaMichael's face mask and helmet and tried to twist his neck. That's playing dirty. I am happy for Auburn fans that you won. And I respect Michael Dyer.

@AuburnBoi4Lyfe -- The game speaks for itself. Cam Newton had a good game, but not a great game. He was stopped by Oregon several times. Nick Fairley did stop LaMichael. I'll give you that. I don't like the way he grabbed LaMichael's face mask and tried to twist his neck -- dirty play, in my opinion -- but yes, he did stop him. The player who won the game for Auburn was Michael Dyer. He had a great day, and I have nothing but good things to say about him. Congratulations on the win.

@jfess, idk if they outplayed them by a mile. It's not as if it was a blowout. It was a 1 score game a decent way through the 4th quarter. auburn's jv high school defense got one of their few stops and newton and co. put the game away. it was not a blowout, it was a very good game that saw the better team pull away in the end (in a game where the game was closer than the score indicated)

@CashWatkins -- The Nike support for our school is out in the open, honest and above-board. I hope the same can be said for Auburn, and I have nothing against Auburn as a school. The ones I distrust are Cam Newton and his father.
@ourmissboo13 жыл бұрын
@CashWatkins -- In early 2010, a bunch of Oregon players got in trouble with the law. The player with a crime of dishonesty (theft of a laptop) -- Jeremiah Masoli -- was kicked off the team. The other crimes were things like drunk driving and an argument with an exgirlfriend that got physical (he shoved her after she tore off his gold necklace). These acts show immaturity, but not the type of cheating Cam Newton did. I don't like the immaturity, but I do like the Ducks. They grew up.

@javipcr This song comes from a rock song popular in America in the 1970's. Not sure how the tradition started (probably with American HS Football Cheerleaders), but it became common for fans of the winning team to sing the chorus to the losing fans when it became apparent the game was out of hand - no hope for the losers. Just go home - Good bye. Here's a the original... kzbin.info/www/bejne/h5KqY3SZnJ2hbJI
