I just bought the LR version of this gun. the guy sold it to me broken. The main spring was broke and the hammer has a chunk missing. I went on North American Arms website and purchased the main spring the hand spring a new hammer and without this video I would have been lost completely! The little locking mechanism was unavailable as well a few other parts such as the plate covering the parts.You are the man! Thanks a ton for posting this!

Thanks to both of your vids i was able to take apart my mini revolver which the cylinder would not rotate in. Then after many curse words and failed attempts and flying springs i was finally able to put it back together and now the gun actually works! Thanks dude! saved me like 200 bucks

Great vid! Only one i could find for my new Pug. I did find it easier to assemble the gun by assembling the hammer assembly (hand spring, hand, guide pin, pin spring, hammer) BEFORE placing it in the frame for reassembly. At least w/my particular firearm, when the hand and handspring are installed correctly, they will stay in place. And the other thing i did differently was i installed the cylinder spring/arm and pin that keeps it in place after i replaced the hammer. But w/o your vids, i would have been one frustrated garage gunsmith! Especially w/the main screw being a reverse thread screw. Keep em coming! By the way, i polished the trigger and hammer connection points for a smoother trigger pull...

Thanks for the video, helped me take apart and reassemble my Sidewinder. Here is something I learned in the process that helped me out with the hand spring: I found it much better to go ahead and put the spring into the groove off the hand FIRST, then using a brass punch, I pushed the straight end of the spring into its slot on the hammer. Try that next time and see if it's easier for you, it sure was for me. Thanks again for the video.

Thanks for that. I took my 22lr version apart years ago and it took me 2 hours to get that little spring and side plate back on.(I remember the spring looking a little different). I ultimately used a feeler gauge to hold the spring in place, but I think your method is the best.

Thanks for the video @ChromeFreak123! I wanted to say I fought that little hand spring several times. I ended up installing the hammer in a half-cocked position, then once I got the side plate back on, I was able to release the hammer and put the hammer spring in. It went together fairly easy and all is well again! Great Video!

I got the gun back together I took it back out of the garbage lucky some of the little pieces we're still in it unbelievable it's not the sprain it's the problem that played is so tightly fitted you can push it in right and you can pound it with a plastic, you have to use a plastic player to press it in there and that's the way I got it thank you for showing me all that I done the way you said it work!!!

Thank you for taking the time to put out a VERY informative video. While cleaning my lttie gun, I thought I was snugging up the side plate hammer screw. I was loosening it. As you mention, it's a reverse thread. My gun flew apart like a cheap watch - been sitting in a bag for a year. I will try your re-assembly method. Thanks again!!!

Thanks for the video! It came in handy for my first complete disassembly. I found that clamping the trigger down with mini needle nose vice grips with tape wrapped around the jaws takes the pressure off the hammer and made it a lot less difficult to install the hammer and side plate. It also allows the hammer to be installed in a more cocked position with less tension on that damn hand spring. It went into cyberspace on me a couple times before I clamped the trigger. After that it was easy. Thanks again.

Great info and help. I could not get the hand spring in on mine though using your method. I had to put the screw in backwards to hold the hammer and then set at full cock put in the hand spring and left the stop spring loose. Then just snapped on the cover, My cover was very tight, and I had to use pliers gently, I'm old and hand do not have much strength anymore. It worked great, I put the screw in correctly and the rest was easy

Thanks so much! You really helped me. Could not have done it without your video. That last spring is indeed a bitch. I ended up making a small groove in the backside of the part of the trigger where the straight side of the spring goes in. It would just not stay in, even with your specific holding advice. I'm a jeweler and am used to working with small stuff. This is large in comparison and I still had that thing pop out over and over. Cheers!

Mine is a naa companion cap and ball that has been in it's case since the little spring on the hammer dropped out and I had no idea where it went. As of today, it's back together. What a pain. It needs a lot more cleaning than a .22 or or mag also. The powder rusted the insides a bit but I was able to get clean and back in business. Thank you sir. 🙏🙏🍺🍺🍺🍺

Moving the hammer back in to cocked position while installing the hand spring makes the process much easier. also threading the screw that holds the side plate in from the other side the hammer in place. Install the bolt spring last as well.

Putting the main housing screw in the back side, actually comes in to the frame a few thousandths, to hold the trigger mechanism in place long enough to pop the plate on.

Hello. I have an NAA Black Widow 22 Mag/22 LR revolver. I recently replaced the hand (Numrich part number 715290), but it doesn't seem to work right. The hand seems to want to rotate the cylinder before the bolt retracts. When I get the cylinder to rotate and the bolt catches the cylinder, I can't pull the hammer back all the way because the hand is still trying to rotate the cylinder. So I released the bolt spring and pulled the hammer back and the hand rotated the cylinder too far and the notch in the cylinder rotates a good 1/8" to 3/16" past the bolt. If I were to guess, it's like the hand is too long. Does the hand have to be fitted to the individual gun frame? I'm thinking that I could file the tip of the hand down a small bit at a time to make it work correctly but I'm not sure if that's a good idea. I can take a video of it if my description wasn't clear. By the way, thanks for this video. It helped me confirm that I was installing the hand spring correctly.

@airgunnerperkins67209 жыл бұрын
Use engine assembly grease to hold that pesky hand spring in place and make shure the spring isn't bent out of align with the grooves.Naa please give us a solid link system,maybe some type of sprockets and gears to make the parts move. Take a look at the double tap pistols mechanisms sturdy internals. I think you all can do better than a hair thin piece of wire to control the line up of bullets to barrel

@billsmopars49272 жыл бұрын
Hi, I am trying to reassemble a 22 LR NAA with the fold up holster. For the life of me I cannot seem to get the main spring into that gun. I presume the curved and of the spring goes into the hammer notch and the longer straighter part goes into the handle. Th spring seems too long by 1/8" or so. I'm reasonably strong, but can't bend it to fit into the handle. This gun has notches in the handle, not a perch on the forward side for the spring. Any advice? I hate to send it back to NAA just to install the main spring.

But I'm looking for a video of the disassembly and assembly of a 22 LR Freedom arms mini revolver, naturally the disassembly and assembly is much more difficult than the NAA one. It would be a good idea to be able to make a video for KZbin and for people who have a 22 LR Freedom arms mini revolver, of the disassembly and assembly of said 22 LR freedom arms revolver, you could make a video of said disassembly and assembly of the mini revolver from 22 LR Freedom arms ..? It seems like you just snugged up the sideplate screw, but forgot to do a final tightening? Mine was screwed in pretty tight from the factory... I noticed that the sideplate screw slot was horizontal before I started, so I know how much to tighten it (within half a turn anyway).
@paulx27777 жыл бұрын
I finally got it together after multiple tries. I found that sticking the grip screw up through the sideplate screw hole (from underneath) located the hammer better so the thing would not fall apart while applying the sideplate from the top. Anything could be used, I just used the grip screw because it was handy.

I took mine fully apart and very lightly passed the trigger sear and hammer notch where the sear locks the hammer back, over a flat piece of 2000 grit wet and dry sand paper. Then I lubed it with molly grease and put the gun together again. The trigger lightened considerably, but not to a point of being anywhere near dangerous.
