The History of the Nike Air Huarache Spans more than two decades! Despite it's weirdness the Nike Air Huarache continues to make Nike's best selling list every quarter. Why is that? What makes the Huarache such a great shoe? How did this strange sneaker design become so popular in mainstream culture? When Tinker Hatfield showed the original sketch for the Huarache to Sandy Bodecker, Sandy declared it "The Sneaker of the Gods". If Zues were around today, he'd probably be rocking a pair of Nike Huaraches.

Still one of the best shoe purchases I've ever made. All black Air Huaraches for 70 bucks. Bought them to work in, since they were all black. Pretty soon they became my everyday shoe. It's light, comfortable, and never goes out of style. Now I'm practically a shoe fanatic because of that pair.

I think before the re releases I only saw like 1 or 2 huaraches around? I always rocked the huarache before it became trendy (I had them in 2015 but no one had em until a year later and everyone decides to rock em) and suddenly everyone started wearing. Same thing with the air force 1 in 2016. I was buying these since they were on the clearance racks for 40 quid for an all white pair. Everyone told me they were shit. 2 years later and now everyone's rocking then 🤷🏾‍♂️guess I'm always ahead in trends

I always thought the Air Jordan 7s were very Hurache inspired. They had nice inner liner that you slid your foot into. It wasn't neoprene but a similar flexible, form-fitting material. Very comfortable and lightweight.

I’m 35 and my dad introduced me to the Huarache in HS in like 1999. He had a pair and bought me a navy and baby blue pair. I was the first person at my HS with some and when I wore them everyone wanted some lol! I actually currently own an all red pair (Red Octobers) and all white! Classic! I remember the 1st time I saw the Huarache Flights John Starks and others had em on in the ‘92 dunk contest. I remember thinking “what the hell are those?” The day I bought the Jordan 7’s at launch I tried em on and was amazed how light and comfortable they were and how similar they were to the huaraches. Later Adidas tried to copy with their bb shoes with removable bootie/sock liner that came in different colors.

Huaraches are a Mexican sandal. The pronunciation is exactly how you say it in ancient dialect. Unlike other groups of Spanish speakers out here, Mexicans still wear Huaraches till this day. We uphold many traditions that others don't. Again, IT'S A MEXICAN SANDAL ! Nike just took the name because of the heel strap. Nonetheless, an ancient , Mexican fabric.

Got them in neon yellow & magenta this week. These are everything Ultraboosts wish they improved on, since they arrived over 20 years earlier. Walking on air cells this soft, or whatever makes the midsole this soft, is really a treat. The leather is real soft, maybe because there's no reinforcing behind it - just the neoprene, but it also feels substantial for Nike leather. These, the AM95 and AM Plus/TN are the most comfortable shoes, probably of all time. Always fun and support my feet.

I got the Infrared colorway for the Huarache as part of the Nike Icon series for $69 (😂) at Foot Locker last Friday. They weren't kidding on it being a comfy sneaker! For narrow footers (c-width), definitely go up half size (full size and a half for wide footers!) as it will force your toes forward to the leather toebox. Just make sure to clip your toenails occasionally and preferably wear thin socks! Not bad for standing all day when working on the hard floor for retail and walking is a great sensation with it and really is pretty light thanks to the air unit at the heel and forefoot with the soft phylon midsole playing a factor into it! I decided to go run in these for a 5km run. Thankfully, the air unit didn't give out since I weigh 147 to 150 lbs, but it still feels great to run in! It only felt awkward to run due to all that phylon foam on the heel giving a bit of a height on the heelstack and it was back in the days where people originally thought you have to land on the heel when in reality, you're supposed to land on the ball of your foot/forefoot. Other than that, this remains one of Tinker's best shoe designs! If I see another Scream Green colorway pop on Nike, I'm nabbing those!

These shoes are really different and casual, but most importantly, SUPER comfortable, i own a pair of Air Max 720 and Huarache’s, and even if the 720 is not made for any type of sport, is “less comfortable” than the Huarache. Of course they are amazing shoes and super comfortable, but i think the Huarache are 1 step further. So proud i have them :)

@@NachoAverageFinds i never tried the 270, so i can't tell how much tall is it, but the 720 are like "descending" from the top to the bottom, and they really feel great, also for the fact that is padded all over the shoe.
