Hi Nadine. Just wanted to thank you for normalising the use of Hydrocortisone for dealing with reactions on the face. I had terrible eczema as a child, and still suffer with very dry/dehydrated and reactive skin. I also still suffer with eczema around my chin and mouth. I react very easily to products and sometimes food and even stress. I spent years avoiding using cortisone creams on my face, and consequently was never able to properly get rid of reactions. My skin was always in some state of inflammation. The only thing that works is a cortisone cream. I don't use it more often than once a week/fortnight, and then only use the thinnest scrape of a layer, but it works quickly and effectively, enabling me to keep my skin in check. Thanks for validating the safe use of hydrocortisone creams on the face! Love your no-nonsense advice.

Hey Nadine! Thanks for the info. I find eyebrow hairs do not "take" super quick if they are going gray (as are mine in a big way despite only a few grays in my hair). Course gray brow hairs are tough. I use medium ash blonde creme color (less runny and therefore less likely to drip or migrate to the eye) and strongly urge all the "Know It All Ladies" with grays to avoid golden undertones. Most brows are cool toned with the exception of redheads. I use equal parts color and 20 volume. They take 20 minutes to ensure the grays are covered (of course patch test) With all the face washing and other products I use on my face, they have to be done once per week. If I don't have time to color them, I use my standard Mac colored brow gel to get me through and the brow gel works great on the grays that I do have around my hairline. The gel is a bit waxy so it not only covers the gray at my hairline but makes them less wiry. xox

This cracked me up!!! All the things you mentioned are lots of things that I do myself. Watched this as I was coloring my hair (and brows). My dad (a physician) gave me me a prescription strength anti-fungal cortisone cream a few months ago and I travel with it as well. As soon as I feel a blemish coming up, I dab on some of the cream and it reduces it overnight and shortens the amount of time it is “angry” and heals up fast (which I need because I am such a face picker and have way to many discolorations because of that). I haven’t tried the Crest strips yet, but will now. I haven’t been able to give up my coffee ☕️. All great hacks, ladies!!

One more thing for both of you -- I do the hair touch up to cover grays between coloring, too (have the bowl and several brushes!) Try Redken Shades EQ -- doesn't lift at all, very gentle. Sometimes I struggle with getting it to stick to the base roots, but overall, a good quick fix.

Hi Nadine, I just wanted to ask if there are any benefits to the skin from taking things like vitamin A, niacin, hyaluronic acid or collagen internally or is it just a waste of time and better applied topically to the skin?
@maureenbouey6 жыл бұрын
Cute and Cultured, there is definitely a benefit to taking niacin internally, to the skin and hair but it's only really effective if you get the regular kind that does give you a flush. It's the flush that lets you know you're getting the benefits (though it's a bit uncomfortable for a few minutes, about 15 or 20 mins afterwards). I'm using it as part of my arsenal for thickening my hair. And collagen, definitely and it will also be very helpful if you have any joint pain!
@MS-nw8fe6 жыл бұрын
@@maureenbouey hi maureen can you please tell which brand you take for niacin, thanks
@maureenbouey6 жыл бұрын
Hi again M S - just found my container after all. I was taking Natural Factors, the 100 mg amount. If you're not used to the flush, don't go any higher than that and if you're uncomfortable with the flush you can take half a tab for a while and build up to it. Hope that helps :) xo
@MS-nw8fe6 жыл бұрын
@@maureenbouey thank you dear. I'll definitely keep in mind.
@wolfferoni6 жыл бұрын
I'm pretty sure taking collagen is a waste of money. As far as I know, there isn't any solid evidence to show that taking it does anything. Some people say it makes them feel better (in terms of joints) but it's been attributed to the placebo effect and is difficult to measure because the way a person feels is subjective. If you eat a balanced diet and look after yourself generally, I doubt collagen supplements will do anything. They're broken down in digestion and aren't absorbed because the peptide chain is too long. lumitylife.com/blogs/news/95855750-the-truth-about-collagen-supplements-collagen-skincare-and-what-really-works. Even if your body could absorb it, if you body didn't think it really needed it, you would just excrete it like you would any other water soluble vitamin supplement

Hello girls. I just discovered you and I am in luv with you and Jo. I really would luv some advise. I am 52 and recently have gone through a rough break up this past year and recently lost my mom as well. I feel like I just have aged in the past year. I don’t know if it’s caused by menopause or just the recent stress. I have always looked 10 years younger. I don’t have a lot of money to spend but was wondering if you could recommend the best procedure for my buck. I’ve got the lines around my mouth that I hate. Laser, peels, lower facelift, fillers? Thank you for all your videos, you and Jo always bring a smile to my face!!! 😃

Here in Sweden, it comes in a package at the supermarket i.e, I am not sure I can walk into a hairdresser saying 8 natural blonds.
