So happy you guys reacted to the movie! It definitely clears a lot of things up about Nagi and Reo’s relationship, especially since season one made it seem a lot more one-sided than it was. It’s pretty funny going into the movie with the same opinion as Reo that Nagi doesn’t care about him anymore, just to realize Nagi’s still thinking about him all the time, he just never actually says anything out loud 😅 So many of their issues could be solved if they actually communicated haha A lot of people weren’t fans of Reo after the first season, which is unfortunately in part due to one of the first season directors being pretty vocal about not liking Reo personally… a lot of Reo’s cool scenes from the manga were tweaked or cut in the adaptation, not to mention they randomly added in the line about him saying Kunigami wasn’t good enough to make it 😭 He’s for sure still a brat in the manga, but there’s a lot more to him. It’s really a shame one director’s opinion had such an influence. I’m excited for you guys to watch season two!!
@juliarose42792 ай бұрын
wait i didnt know that about the director! ig I never realized bc I also read the manga, but that makes me so sad bc reo's one of my favorites. he's such a well-written character :(
@brynn_ith2 ай бұрын
@@juliarose4279yeah, it’s definitely disappointing considering how dynamic he is in the manga and how he’s one of the author’s favourites :/ the good news is, that director isn’t working on season two! :)
@celinho682 ай бұрын
It really doesn't clear anything. It's more of a extended backstory
@brynn_ith2 ай бұрын
@@celinho68 haha I mean it changed their opinions on Nagi and Reo's relationship... I won't rewatch the whole video again but just skimming through the video I found examples: the promise when they enter Blue Lock alone was enough for them to do a 180 on the scene from the anime where Nagi leaves Reo behind (9:28), they realized they were genuinely best friends instead of just previous teammates (5:55), they literally said "everything makes sense now" (23:51) when we get Nagi's PoV on the match against Team Z. Yeah, it's mostly Nagi's backstory, but that doesn't mean it doesn't give us a ton of additional information on why Nagi does what he does and what motivates him. We don't get a lot of that in the original anime since a) it's from Isagi's PoV (who I love but definitely isn't the most observant) and b) Nagi doesn't talk about himself or his motivations past wanting to pursue his newfound curiosity. If nothing else, it clears up why Reo was so upset about being left behind.
@zanyo-g4d2 ай бұрын
When Reo says, "I'll take you to an interesting life," Nagi responds, "Stay with me until the end." In other words, Nagi intends to continue being Reo's partner and to be with him from now on, and leaving him temporarily to pursue his dreams is not breaking his promise to him. However, this was not properly conveyed to Reo, and he is deeply hurt. (Please read the manga as well. It will completely change the impression you get of the scene where Nagi tells Reo, "You're a pain. I don't care anymore.")
@Cosybro2 ай бұрын
I really don’t get how people saw Reo as an asshole in season 1 when he was no more of an ass than any other character😅 I’m like the opposite where this movie actually made me understand Nagi more. He’s not actually a heartless jerk but a wide eyed baby chick that just didn’t communicate properly. He never thought he was ending their partnership, just that it was a little work trip and that they’d be back together next time they met like before😢
@Okkotsu862752 ай бұрын
I'm with you on all of this
@brynn_ith2 ай бұрын
Absolutely!! Nagi's face when Reo rejects his high five in the baths always breaks my heart, he's so confused why Reo would be upset when obviously (to him and to no one else lol) he's just doing what's best for their dream
@ChaosCardIC10002 ай бұрын
People just assume he's bad cos he feels entitled to nagi for getting him into football. It's easy to feel that way considering reos upbringing and I agree people are way too harsh on him.
@shoujoru2 ай бұрын
@@Cosybro the fact that Reo is rich plays a role in why many hate him. Also in the blue lock series he's the one with the most emotional arc at that point, and it's about another male at that, which many watchers won't say, but secretly dislike

Tbh i already loved reo in s1 so i think my way of undrestanding reo was actually good but i'm glad yall realize he's not a bad person. Also it's sad that reo thinks he's not the one to motivate nagi while all nagi is think about is reo and do all this for their dream. Also recently the author comfirms that if reo was eliminated nagi would quit football and beside zantetsu and reo he does not see other in blue lock as a friend

I'm so glad you guys watched this! I feel like a lot of people misunderstand Nagi and Reo until you see things from their perspective. From the outside, their relationship can seem one-sided to some, but Nagi's internal monologue definitely proves otherwise. He's almost always thinking about Reo and trying to do what he thinks is best for the both of them. That's why I don't think either of them are necessarily in the wrong, they're just not very good at communicating their feelings. They are teenage boys after all lmao. I'm looking forward to your season 2 reactions! :)
@brynn_ith2 ай бұрын
100% agree, especially on the part of them being uncommunicative teenagers 😂 People get on Reo’s case about being emotional but come on, the guy is 17 and going through his first heartbreak while in the middle of an insanely hard live-in training camp with no time to process his emotions or anyone to talk to about them…. it would be hard not to be a little messy 😅
@juliarose42792 ай бұрын
@ exactly!! and tbh i lowkey live for the messiness bc as much as i would love for them to communicate properly it brings the spice 😭 like some characters are boring to me but nagi and reo always bring the drama and i love them for that lmaooo it’s entertaining like a story should be

I'm truly fascinated seeing how Nagi and Reo's personalities and skill sets are maturing. Especially the end credit scene with the two of them talking and Nagi standing before Japan to greet and show them what he's all about. The current season, despite some of the whatever flipnote studio animation, is definitely living up to what I was looking forward to and I'm curious to see what other characters they'll be introducing for us to learn more about and how they'll continue developing the OGs like Isagi and Bachira. Glad you all decided to react to the movie!

I feel like I watch a completely different show, because I fail to see how Reo was an asshole. Maybe a bit of spoil brat, but not an asshole. Anyways , I’m happy this little film show and give more insight into Nagi and Reo’s characters. Especially Reo, I always thought fans like Sam, were way more harsher and less understanding of his character than necessary. I’m really happy that this films could change the perspective of that if just a little.

For those who are interested in more details, this movie did skip a ton of the Episode Nagi manga, most of the matches and also how Nagi´s team picked up Zenitsu. There are also a lot of Reo stuff they skipped which I personally found important, the way Reo used the points system to get full control of all the team to avoid others getting envious of his, Nagi´s and later Zenitsu´s position....his team politics were pretty impressive and a nice touch to provide us with more context on his personality and skills.

The ending post Credit there is pure Hype 🔥🔥And yes season 2 should cover the entire game there. However, the first 5-6 episodes will be a small “training” arc and tryouts to see who will be the 11 starters out of the 35 currently left. And at first now the animation isn’t good but it’s improving with each episode so most likely they are saving it to this U20 game. Anyways, hope y’all enjoy second season and hopefully everything turns out good 😄

The promise was for Reo to stay with him not Nagi to stay with Reo, so in Nagi's perspective if Reo got eliminated Reo would be the one who breaks the promise that's why Nagi said Reo had forgotten their promise when Reo wasn't chosen
@Cosybro2 ай бұрын
I think it’s more that, for Nagi, staying together doesn’t mean being physically next to each other but together as partners till the end. So even though they weren’t side by side, in his head Reo is always his partner, so he never thought he was breaking their promise. Which is why he got mad during the second selection, because that’s when he realised the partnership has ended and saw it as Reo being the one to break his promise and being the one to end their partnership (hence miscommunication)
