stop making up numbers. the official soviet census of 1988 showed that 76 percent of the people living in the nagorno karabakh autonomous oblast were ethnic Armenians. this is a humanitarian crisis, once again caused by the turk. Many Armenians from diaspora will repatriate back to Armenia and it will thrive in the coming years. karabakh will be a cursed land to the turks and they will not thrive on it.

It’s all cosmetics. There’s no human rights, only interests. The world helped Ukraine because it was in America’s interests. But when Armenia, a pro-Western democracy, is attacked by Azerbaijan, a dictatorship, it’s not in the Wests interests so nothing is done. Azerbaijan is richer and has oil after all, and 80 million strong Turkey is much more important than 2 million Armenia (how many Americans can even point to them on a map). So, Armenians are abandoned, same reason why Rohingyas were abandoned in Myanmar. For both, no one cares as it’s not in any of the major powers interests to care. What’s happening in Ukraine is nothing about freedom, democracy or a rules based order, it’s all about geopolitical interests and the West getting a one up over Russia.

Also both Russia and Iran do not need more Western military bases next to their borders too. When there is stability, the West is "bad" for myriad reasons. When war breaks out in the World, the West is still "bad" for standing idle. You can't have it both ways. How about asking the up and coming, "Global South" to help out? They won't because it's not in their "interests" as well.

Azerbaijan is just talk talk now, nothing committed in international treaty. Azerbaijan is ridding high over a military operation over a minority. Past promises made by Azerbaijanis to Nagorno-Karabakh have been unceremoniously u-turned. International community (in particular EU) must force Azerbaijan to commit assurances in writing, in international treaty. Do note Azerbaijan is an authoritarian regime, not far from Putin’s regime.

It was autonomy republic like an Nakhichevan, which also was giving to Azerbaijani by Russian bolsheviks ,to create a new republic. There have been several hints and one overt admission from US and German diplomats that the west mediated an agreement between Armenia and Azerbaijan where Armenia would officially recognize Artsakh as Azerbaijani territory and in turn Azerbaijan will respect the rights of the Armenians living there. Armenia officially did this not long ago, but Azerbaijan broke their promise. Now the west needs to prove it's a reliable security partner to save face.
