This result was expected. No one in the world recognized "Karabakh Republic". It was a clear case of separatism that no sane country would recognize. Even Armenia itself had 30 years and didn't recognize it. Legally there is no discussion, no argument, those lands belong to Azerbaijan. Now Karabakh issue is pretty much closed, the only thing needed is peace agreement between Armenia and Azerbaijan. I wonder if those displaced Armenians had sympathized with the 700,000 Azeris who had to flee Nagorno-Karabakh and surrounding districts as a result of their victory in the first war in the 1990s. So many people pouring out heartfelt emotions in their direction today, completely oblivious or willfully forgetting that they were guilty of doing the same to their neighbors three decades ago. Some of those old men in the video clip were personally responsible for doing it to the Azeris and they went home to those now old women who celebrated and congratulated them for killing and displacing others for being different. Before the Russian-Turkish occupation of Armenia in 1920, Artsakh was an internationally recognized part of Armenia. After the occupation of Armenia, part of the territories of Armenia passed to Turkey, and the rest, including Artsakh, to Russia. According to the illegal decision of the Soviet dictator Stalin, Artsakh was transferred to Azerbaijan. That's the whole story. Artsakh was inhabited by Armenians for thousands of years, and now, thanks to disorientation of international community and false pragmatism of US and EU, ethnic cleansing and genocide are taking place there. I am an Azerbaijani, I was born in 1981 in Aghdam district. We experienced the same scenario in the 1990s. At that time, they did not show us the mercy we showed to the Armenians. They tried to kill us and captured us. I was 10 years old then. Although I remember those days now, I feel sorry for the Armenians, because now they are escaping from the punishment of the atrocities they committed. Look up the stats from the beginning of occupation in the 90's. Tens of thousands of Azeris were displaced and killed and then their properties were taken over by occupying Armenians.
