Clearly, Dorry expected such a strong haki blast to feel hostile to everyone in the vicinity, because that's how Shanks's haki blasts work. Remember, when he haki-bombed Greenbull, there were people in his own crew passing out as well. That simply suggests that Joyboy had much better mastery of haki than Shanks. Basically 2 things need to be concerned; 1. Shanks as a haki user is not as good as Joyboy. Shanks knocked out his own people in Wano, so his control is not clean. Joyboy is clean, and he can store it. He should be able to do what Shanks can do in much cleaner way. This implies the time Joyboy unleash haki that even he can not fully control, it would be a feat beyond Shanks. So Joyboy > Shanks, but Shanks > everyone in the present (idk about Imu) 2. About Mihawk, he has a better sword skill is still not clear how much it affects his sword duel. I do think Mihawk can make Big Mom and Kaido in extreme diff fight, but again, conqueror haki changes everything. If he has it, then he definitely can use conqueror coating. Add that to his sword skill then he's easily yonko level.

As a swordsman in real life I can tell you that Shanks Is not nerfed by using his right hand as his main. I do agree that he’s nerfed because having two hands is way better than only one, but in swordsmanship the right hand is always more powerful that the left one, even if you are left handed. Maybe for someone like you is hard to understand but I will try to clarify. When you go to a dojo to learn how to wield a katana, or a sword, it doesn’t matter which one is your main hand masters always teach you to use the right one as your main. If you refuse to use the right hand then they will refuse to teach you. It’s been like that for hundreds or thousands of years. In fact, watch real life videos of competitions and exhibitions and you will never see a left handed swordsman. If you are left handed and you learn with your left you can do good but you will never reach your peak. Switching to the right hand may hinder you at first, but once you get used to it you can grow to a higher ceiling that you could not before with your left hand. So learning to use the sword with your right hand is always the best choice, specially in the long run. Why is this like that? I’m not entirely certain, but my master said something like “left and right handed people all have the heart in the left side of the chest and for everybody without exception the left side of the brain (associated with maths and calculations) controls the right part of your body and viceversa, so no matter what you should always use your right hand” So It doesn’t matter if we are left or right handed because our bodies all have the same structure and functions in the same way. And swordsmanship even though is a martial art has a lot of science behind it. No wonder the best swordsmen are also the smartest. Oda being a Japanese knows this for sure, so maybe by forcing Shanks to switch hands he was actually buffing him rather than nerfing him. All I know is that if it were real life Shanks eventually would be way more powerful with his right hand than with his left regardless of what his main hand was.

The issue I have with one piece power scaling is that their strengths feel unrewarded. They just get to these ridiculous levels of world breaking strength and the answer to why is "Oh they just saw it and copied it" Why can Zoro life so much weight? "He just can" Goku was amazing because we legitimately saw every step of his growth. How he trained and the new methods he would need in order to overcome any plateau. Luffy? He just met Kaido so now I guess he's Gear 5 now. Shanks losing his arm wasn't even Odas idea and I absolutely hate this glazing of Shonen Mangakas as if they came up with and planned everything. Shanks was meant to be strong but it fundamentally breaks the world building by saying he was always world breaking strong without showing why and especially how. Frieza already blew up multiple planets and we're really going to act like Shanks had any chance? Well given the writing quality of One Piece if Shanks fought Frieza using Odas writing style Shanks would reveal his hidden cyborg reindeer half-human genetics that are being awakened as he does an attack that's coming out of his hidden second sword sheathe. If Shanks was fighting Frieza using Akiras writing style? Frezia would get hurt by Shanks by letting his guard down for under estimating Shanks but then ultimately lose to his overwhelming Strengh.

Part of Luffy's character is fighting people stronger than him, same for Zoro. It took them taking down 2 different people to even get to Kaido and even then he got defeated and chained up in sea stone and had to teach himself advanced haki just to even have a chance and hurting Kaido.

And this is why I don't get where Blackbeard is going to kill Shanks comes from when all evidence points to Shanks folding Blackbeard like a lawnchair. The story keeps saying Haki conquers all and here Blackbeard is fiending for devil fruit instead of training his haki smh.

There's something to do with the Figurelands just make them unique and Shanks being from that bloodline is no different, you bet Garling is in that ballpark too. There is a reason why Mihawk prefer to dual Shanks amount all others and still waiting for someone (Zoro) to surpass that. So his natural talent is just there, I don't think he is the strongest as I place him even with Mihawk with a few others being higher. But hey, when you are a top tier and your Haki is able to replicate Gold Roger moves, thats something.

To all the shanks naysayers out there, just hit ur dislike and quit yapping in the comments every video because Shanks has done nothing besides dominate the competition. He stalemated Whitebeard, the same guy who devastated marineford in a weakened state. His conquerors haki literally stretched across the vast ocean to shut down an admiral when joyboy’s haki couldnt even affect kizaru. His future sight usage already surpasses the likes of katakuri and likely any character in the verse, he fucking one-tapped a character that neither big mom or kaido could put down. The fucking navy would rather not go through the trouble of fighting him and his crew for crying out loud. Shanks has surpassed Roger it's too apparent. Roger was afraid to deal with Big Mom & Red Hair eliminated her killer with a single strike. Big Mom was extremely more powerful when she fought Law & Kid in comparison to decades in the past Living Bones, increased her size and power through self sacrifice & has the ability to spam that ability until her life is literally cut short Whitebeard was equal to Roger & yet it's emphasized repeatedly that Kaido is superior in regards to combat prowess. Then you have Shanks being more talented than the Dark King himself

I would say Kin'emon, God love him is not nearly as strong or as skilled as Oden. None of the Scabbards are. Not to say the man is a slouch, but he ain't Roger, Newgate, or of course Kouzuki.
