NAIL BED PREP for No Toenails / WEAR Update On Acrylic Toenails w/ Dual Forms Part 1

This is Part 1 of the prosthetic ( FAKE ) Toe Nail application . In this video I update you on the wear of my vacation acrylic set of large toenails I did in August . I did these in the beginning of August out of acrylic and dual forms . As most of you know , I do not have any large toe nails . I had them removed some years ago due to injury . Watch some of the toe nail videos in my Toe nail playlist which I will have the link below this write up .In this video I'm also showing you how I go about prepping the bare nail bed for a application of prosthetic toenails . ( fake toe nails ) The next part will be Part 2 and I will be creating prosthetic ( Fake ) toe nails out of builder gels and Dual forms . Just got mine removed permanently today, it’s been a bit difficult for me as a teenager to come to terms with the fact that i’ll have to deal with covering it for the rest of my life, and i’ll never really be able to go to a salon and get my toenails painted on a normal afternoon. So I have a similar problem on my thumbs…the nail bed is smooth. I’m having trouble getting a fake nail to stay on. I always have lifting at the base where it is smooth… what do you find sticks the best plus I have a double problem since I have hyperhydrosis (sweaty hands and feet)? I have tried hard gel, builder gel, & glue.

Try polygel …. But your hands are in water a lot during the day , more than your feet .

I crushed my toe 2 days ago and the doctor told me most likely I'm going to lose my toenail completely. I'm so sad and so mad at myself because I feel like I could've prevented it. Being women out feet are so important to us... idk what I'm going to do. My toe looks dead.

I recently hit my toe nail so hard on the corner of a night stand which caused an ingrown toenail & now it got infected and I guess I might need a small surgery.... I guess half my toenail will be gone 😭 I might seem dramatic but my feet are so important to me I’ve been crying so much 😭😭😭 could I do this if half my nail is missing?

I had an accident last summer and I lose my toe nail. A second nail start growing underneath, I keep the old on top for 4 month and then I lose it but I had the second half way out. So this January, after a long walks on my vacation, the new nail looks white and separate from the skin with a gap between. Till now there is not any nail growing underneath, I was so sad that I might not have toe nail again. But you know what? Your videos make me feel that if you want, you will find a solution. I'm not afraid to lose it for ever anymore. 🙃

How long did it take for you to be able to do this (healing)? I had mine taken off to see if it would grow back normally. It did not so after COVID I may get it permanently removed.

When I had mine off permanently... it took a good 6 weeks -8 weeks to completely heal .

I do my own toenails directly on my skin . But you finding someone to do it for you may be hard to do . These products are not intended for use on skin …. But I only do myself and so far no allergies .

It was definitely worth it, glad I don't have to deal with that problem again. I was a bit nervous at the idea of part of my toenail being carved off, but it was completely numb so I felt nothing of course, all just in my head.

Just wanted to throw in a reminder that if you have diabetes and have lost nails because of it (like me), have your podiatrist send you to someone to do it (I just stole her technique and do it myself now). But seriously, be careful! With the total numbness, it's super easy to hit the wrong spot, get an infected wound and lose a toe (or part of one, again, like me 😧). Love your videos!!!

Yup sounds like they didn't either clean and dry the area well, use enough phenol to kill the matrix or they left a chunk in there and the phenol couldn't get to the matrix. That happened when the doc tried to remove my pinky toe nails. Now I have deformed pinky nails. I just file them down usually. I really want to do this to mine, just not brave enough yet I guess.

You can do it ! Use the polygel to start . It’s easier . It may not hold as long as acrylic ... but it will give you practice .

A lot depends on what your nailbed looks like. If The skin on your nailbed is very smooth or shrunk up you’re gonna have a hard time getting it to stay.If you were using poly gel you can use the base gel first. My advice is to just try polygel and see how that goes for you .

Yeah, you shouldn't have any toenail growing back. It happens sometimes though. Definitely if it causes you pain you should go back and get it redone. Great job though. I love watching pedi 's.

Right , Because nail products are not supposed to be applied to skin. It says right on the bottles and everything, do not apply to skin. This can void out their insurance at their salon and also if they get sued for a reaction they will probably lose the case because none of these products are for use on skin . I see people all the time promoting using this on skin at salons in the USA and it’s just not allowed legally. Maybe in other countries it is , but not in the USA. I have never run across a product , builder gel , polygel or acrylic, primer or bonders , anything that says it safe for use on skin . This is the reason why I do not apply this on anyone except for myself. I take the responsibility for myself. I show others how to do this but I also always try to include that there is a risk for allergic reaction. People can decide for themselves if they want to do this on themselves .

Exactly ..... but this is “ ME “ doing this on “ MYSELF “ . If you want to do this on yourself fine ... but you can’t do this on clients . Clients must have a toe nail to work on them . There are people out there that want to learn to do this on themselves and I’m providing them the information on how to do that .
