Akhada system was very prevalent in India till few years back. All those exercises helped overall health and people trained in Akhada retained that fitness for years even after leaving it. Sadly we have moved away from it to fancy gyms and supplements.

The isometric bodybuilding style gyms are becoming less and less in the west, India will follow at some point!
@dishantb42223 жыл бұрын
@@TheFlowingDutchman That's true though. Just like Yoga aur turmeric milk, we Indians tend to forget our traditions till those come back from the West.

@dishantb42223 жыл бұрын
@@thelastgeneration1926 Because most of these akhada exercise focus on building stamina, are usually in natural habitat it helps overall health including mental.state. unlike Gym weights, you don't lose muscles immediately or gain weight after leaving it for few months. This naturally acquired athleticism remains for years. I have seen people around.

Not entirely true, isolating the muscle does grow it more. These workouts are more functional and increase overall strength. They will not give you a v-taper

with all due respect to Indian culture, but who can name at least one outstanding Indian athlete? in any discipline? - that's all there is to know about Indian sports, whether traditional or not. Greco-Roman and wrestling, Jujutsu, sambo and judo, boxing and kickboxing - Indian wrestling is not on the list of the best, it only has a place in the cultural tradition, like sumo in Japan. fencing - the European school of fencing is the best, on knives everything is not so simple, but even in this the Indian school is far from being the leader. what remains? - twist kettlebells on sticks, since even ordinary kettlebell lifting sport is not theirs either. in general, who wants exoticism - here it is, why and what for - this questions is apparently not asked.
