Hi Suzie...love your videos! I used to go to a salon to get my nails done. But the last time I was there the nail tech cut four of my cuticles. They were still bleeding when I got home. That was the last the time I went. I started doing my own nails in January of this year. I would take pictures of each set I would do and looking back I noticed how much better I got... the first set took me 6 1/2 hours to do...I was really discouraged but I kept watching your videos and in one of them you told Grant that it took you 6 hours the first time. So I picked my discouraged butt up and continued. I’m happy to say it now takes me 4 hours...still not as fast as I would like it to go but they do look pretty good! Thank you for being such an inspiration to me ❤️

Cheryl Campbell I’m in the same boat as you with the time it takes me. I’m down to 3 hours for full sculpted set of extensions, color, and whatever nail art I decide to try on myself. My extensions are getting better (1st few looked like Frankenstein nails...all lumpy and misshapen). And shaping them took f-o-r-e-v-e-r! But I keep watching Suzie also, and she keeps me motivated and encouraged. I actually get a lot of compliments now. So far from pro times, but hey...we’re still learning! I’m actually going to try airbrush designs next. I just bought an airbrush from Young Nails and some acrylic art paints for it. I’ll probably be next seen with airbrushed colors all over my face and hair! Maybe I should wait until Halloween to try this??

I know how that goes. It took me 6 hours to do polygel nails yesterday. It was my first time and it was not nearly as easy as I thought it looked. :( It was a horrible feeling seeing that I spent the entire afternoon doing it when I feel like I never have enough free time. :( So discouraging.

In my experience, using the rainbow colored bits are "softer" then the traditional carbide or ceramic bits. The rainbow bits have a grit rating, but I've found them to be softer than what they say their grit is. And the ceramic ones are often courser or sharper than they say. I haven't come across this using "professional" bits (like from EricaATA or Young Nails for example). These are good bits for learning but don't last through hours of daily use. The generic bits wear out faster.

Whoami hey there! You’re right! Some people do file the c-curve a bit to smooth it out. Suzie did so in a video about applying tips with polygel. It looked like she was using a ceramic but. She was using it over the whole gel nail to smooth it out. You should have a nice and natural looking curve after building, but you absolutely can fix it up with a bit. Good question! I hope you get a more specific answer soon 💙✨

I had always done my own nails without any problems, but I received a mani-pedi as a birthday gift and everything seemed fine until I removed the polish from my toenails. That was when I discovered a fungal infection that took months to heal and grow out. I haven't had another pedicure in a salon since then, but I did enjoy the experience and would do it again if I could be sure the salon wasn't going to give me another infection. Is there a way to be sure that a salon is clean and safe for pedicures?

OMG OMG THANK YOU SO SO MYCH FOR THIS VIDEO!! I have been struggling for almost 3 years of trying to teach myself how to shape nails. Coffin shape had been the culprit of my insanity when it comes to shaping. I couldn’t figure out how to get it tapered enough with out losing the c curve. Until today when u said ONE SIMPLE SENTENCE. You said “ remember if you just file the thickness on the sides you will get a stronger coffin shape”. THAT WAS THE ANSWER TO MY PRAYERS. I have even gotten a little insecure about my work. But Susie? You made it all come together for me. I did my own nails a full set sculpted gels and it is by far hands down the best set I’ve ever done. The saga is us exactly the same in each nail they look amazing. Thank you so much I love you and I just want you to know that out of hundreds of nail artists and educators on KZbin and after watching THOUSANDS of hours or videos on shaping your one simple statement was a game changer for me and I’m so grateful for you. Love you thank you.

Hi Suzie♥️ I loved the video 😊 I use the brush bit to clean in between the grooves/teeth on the other bits. I've tried using it to clean clients nails but it falls short. A manicure brush is better suited for that task.

Hey Suzie!! I was wondering for a beginner using this e-file instead of using a carbide bit to file and bring down acrylic would you recommend using the sanding bands instead??

Susie, First of all I love your nail education! I have been a diy’er for years now. 😀 I do gel and acrylic. However I’ve been diagnosed with breast cancer and have had 6 months of hormone suppressant drug, a bilateral mastectomy 3weeks ago and will start port chemo in 2 weeks. I had to remove my nails for the surgery and am soooooo missing them. 😭 since I will be starting chemo do you or any of your beautiful follows know what I need or can do to have my nails on again. Please help. Love you all.

Great video! For manicures that need to be repaired, this portable machine is still needed. I bought this small manicure machine from the renhotecic brand not long ago, and I can operate it myself, and the effect is quite good. Everyone can try it.

Hey Suzie! Really great video on e-filing, thank you very much! I have a question about buying new drill bits: Do I have to buy drill bits of the same brand/company of the nail drill I own or do all drill bits fit in every nail drill? Best wishes

This is the little e-file I have and I love it, crazy good for the price and great for students or home use. I suggested it in your last efile video because it is so much better than others in the same price range ... Plus it's tiny and cute 😆💜. Can't wait for your russian manicure video.

This video is exactly what i needed!! The little tips and tricks on getting the sides even without over filing by hand or taking away too much with my drill especially when i know my sides are perfectly straight! Its the top of the nail and top sides that get "chunky" spots and now with the help of this video..the set of nails i did earlier today but didnt have the chance to file yet...after this video took me less then 20 min! Compared to hour+ i can sit after application getting everything all smoothed out and perfect. I am self taught in addition to the help of your education videos and i cant thank you enough for your amazing talent and videos!

I’ve had a nail tech almost take my nail off because he always had his drill on way too high, he once after cut my pinky open when he was filing. 🙄🙄

Would you happen to have any pointers on making sander bands fit tight on the mandrel? I have this issue often ..I keep buying mandrels and sometimes the sander bands don't fit snug so they come off or spin without making proper contact with the nail. Thanks so much for this video and all of your videos. I really love doing nails ..I am wheelchair-bound since 2007 ...and last year I started learning to do nails from your channel as well as some others..beside giving me joy it is also a means where I can make money which is a challenge for many disabled people to find a job they can actually do..it is true what they say "Give a man a fish he eats for a day . Teach a man to fish and he can feed himself and his family for a lifetime"..I know you have helped and inspired countless women to find a career path through doing nails which is very empowering! Much love and kudos!
