Update 3+ years later: The potted cat eye gels shown in the video have been unavailable now for quite some time. Here are some of my other favorite shop options for cat eye colors. Zillabeau (code katie10) Lots of color options zillabeau.com NashlyNails (code katie10) more great options! www.nashlynails.com/collections/icegel-galaxy Also, in the video I state you should apply them over black. This is optional. The colors I use in the video have a sheer black base, so I recommend applying them over black to give you an opaque look and make the colors pop. However, years after filming this, there are now many different colors of cat eye, ranging from light to dark shades. So using a black base is not always necessary depending on the color and the look you're trying to achieve.

I recently tried cat eye gel over chrome (which video I'm about to go watch, to get some tips!), and I'm IN LOVE, the brilliant chrome shine thru the cateye sparkles is just amazing! I'm using a "no color but all colors" 5D cateye gel, over a couple different shades of blue chrome, and it's quite ethereal, seeing that intense blue thru the many-colored sparkles.

@@Jennifer-u7g No, not really, but I do recall that her video demonstrated using chrome over the cat-eye gel, while mine was the reverse -- I did the cat-eye gel over the chrome, and since the cat-eye gel I used didn't really have much of a color of its own -- just "all colors" -- it worked great! Tomorrow I'm removing my Valentines colors (white pearl-pink pearl-red glitter ombre) and putting on some dark green that I got recently and haven't tried yet (Beetle's greens collection) with some blue-green cat-eye gel over it. Can't wait! 😊

@@smdivaaa your magnet might be too weak, in my case my magnet was weak and certain very light colors need a base coat before you apply the cat gel, ny base coat i mean just another flat gel polish color. and remember that you need to use the magnet while your cat eye gel is still wet & uncured !

I had a dream one time, there were these marble lights in Gods hand. There were different levels of brightness. The more dim ones showed first. They were glowing but not bright enough to light anything around them. Then Gods voice came into my mind and said “these lights bring me joy” then he shuffled the lights in his hands until the brighter ones shown. The brighter lights were bright enough to light the darkness around them. Then Gods voice came again and said “but these ones give me strength.” The marbles represent people. And the light is the love and obedience to God they emanate. I believe that the parable in my dream represented the strength we give to God when we strive to share the light with others! We can do this by praying for others! Serving others, sharing the gospel and the doctrine with others, and sharing our testimonies of God and Jesus! We actually give him strength? Well, not directly but I directly through serving others we serve our God. It says so in the Bible:)

You can use this paint on natural nails, but it's gel paint so you will need a UV or LED lamp to cure it. (along with the standard base and top coats)

Great ideas! Hint: when you have finished you design with the magnet, then lift the magnet vertically from the nail. Don't remove tge magnet horizontally, this can move a bit the design.

I just started playing with gel polish and I'm in LOVE!!! I finally got some cat eye gel polish but was getting so frustrated thinking I got a bad product, then thought to myself man what if I'm doing it wrong, and I was only using the magnetic side to try and get that same effect. Thank you for explaining this I have had some problems doing it. I have cat eye polish in a bottle use the magnet and by the time I get it in to the lamp it is starting to move around again so I don't get the look I had before. What am I doing wrong? I love the cat eye with the stamping!!

Hmm are you putting them into the lamp right after you use the magnet? If so it could be the polishes just don’t have that strong of pigments.

Turquoise has many characteristics one of which is the gold , bronze, or black matrix that runs through the gemstone itself. Oh, why is it when I put my magnet next to the get polish the polish goes grey? The magnet literally sucks the color out of the polish. Bad polish? Terrible technique?
