How to use Bluesky Hard Gel on your natural nails

Thank you sooo much for this video. I've been doing my own gels for about 3 years now. They're fine but I know they're not at all to professional standard and don't last as long. I bought bluesky hard gel about a year ago but didn't really notice it changing the strength of my nails. I didn't know that I could do a thick layer in one. Nor that I should take off the tacky layer and buff before colour!! I knew about buffing etc before paint but not during, that makes so much sense! Thst will really help the lumpiness I see after using hard gel. I will definitely be trying your advice. Thanks again!!

Hiya ☺️ so normal gel polish is softer than hard gel ( after its been cured in the lamp) if you want extra strength, use hard gel either on its own or underneath gel polish. Hard gel isn't the strongest though. If you still need more strength than what hard gel offers, you want to use a builder gel. Builder gel is very very strong ☺️

They do sell a builder gel. It's much harder wearing than hard gel (ironically) lol

I bought this as my real nails are flaky and soft. Snap all the time. Anyway I prepared my nails. Popped this on. Cured them etc. But they've peeled off. I even lost one while washing my hair haha. Please any suggestions? x

Hiya. Nail enhancements don't like to stay stuck to weak nails so it could just be a case of that. But to troubleshoot I would do the following. Make sure the nail is wiped well with 99% acetone to clean and dehydrate. (Not nail varnish remover) Try scratching the surface of the nail lightly with a 180 grit file. Use a base coat or do a really thin initial layer (cure it) before doing the following regular layers. Apply more layers. Sometimes with gel, a thin layer will peel away easier than a few thicker layers. Usually it's a case of the nail being too smooth. Either naturally or from Buffing with an inferior Buffing block. Try those things and see how you get on!

Most of my collection of gel polishes are from Bluesky. My clients go anywhere from 2 to 4 weeks without chipping.

Hiya, it doesn't cure fully hard. I made a ring out of it once and it vent when I squeezed it. Usually if you have atleast 1 to 2mm of it on your nail, that's enough strength but if you need more strength you could try the bluesky builder gel. That does cure very very hard. Xo

Many people have success without using basecoat, myself included but ofcourse you can use basecoat for extra insurance. You can use forms, but it's not as strong as builder gel so I wouldn't sculpt them very long.

You should turn hand with palm up and use reflection of light on nail surface to level gel on the nail. What you did is too much work... Did you put a bit of gel on piece of film to check its strength? How hard is it? Or it is flexible? Does it break when you bend it? Thanks

Hiya, no base coat isn't necessary if you are going on with color and Topcoat. . Some people use hard gel as a base coat. 😊

No, you don't need topcoat. you could just wipe it off with isopropyl alcohol to take away the tacky layer. That would give you a more natural look. Usually, people are adding gel polish on top of this product, so the topcoat would go on at the very last stage after all the colored gel is cured. X

hard gel is NOT soak off. it has to be filed off. this is NOT hard gel.
