Additional Information On How To Build Brian Gorman`s Rotating Magnetic Couplings

G`day Gary and thanks for your reply. Yes time and effort are required, but once you are set up with jigs to make and hold various parts, and once you are clear with the process, the manufacture and fitting of these couplings would be no more difficult ( possibly easier ?) than a Kadee conversion. A couple of the subscribers have already let me know that they have made some couplings and found the process fairly easy, so that`s good to know. I am also planning a video showing my method for magnetic tension locks, but this one has limited application ,yet maybe helpful for some of the lads. Stay safe and all the best Gormo

G`day Bruce and thanks for your comment. Yes the bogies can be a bit difficult sometimes requiring a couple of attempts to get it right. Fortunately, I only need bogie conversions in small numbers, so no big deal really. All the best Gormo

Hi Gormo! Great idea! Can I ask the significance of the coloured axle boxes on the modified bogies? Would be interested in seeing the conversion as applied to your locos, too? Just curious! Best wishes from Wirral, UK! 🇬🇧

G`day Darren, The coloured axle boxes relate to my previous system and they showed me the polarity of each wagon....eg.....White = North......Red = South. That system is being phased out in favor of my new system. Locos will be the same method. I have one tank loco done at the moment. I am leaving the wire off the buffers on the locos at the moment to see how they go just using the wires on the wagons......we`ll see on that one. A handful of my locos have magnets from the previous system and that still works with the new system. Anyway your suggestion about showing loco conversion is taken onboard and will appear in the next video. All the best Gormo
