I could believe you could keep it that clean for 180 hours, especially if it was a full gut&rebuild when the engine was replaced, all the insulation would be brand new.

Holy crow, did the previous owners wear cotton gloves whenever they were below, the condition-to-age ratio is off the charts. What a find! What is your sail inventory and age/condition? You will need, of course, to find some ABBA cassettes, I'm assuming that is your favorite band,😉 Now I'm looking forward to the sailing! Carry on!

Hahaha good humour..the ABBA reference is funny as it relates to the cassette player. The original ABBA tapes might have been in 8-track format. I installed an 8-track player in the first car I owned as a 16 yr old. I thought I was pretty cool until cassettes were invented.

Best thing about cassette players is the tape to 3.5mm adaptors you can get for them. Can’t do that with a cd!

Wonderful beautiful boat! You have a very old type of main electrical switches, they are really great! Mine are 45 years old and works perfectly. Don't switch (!) them to new!

That's a good point. I had a similar situation on my old boat. One which was 35 years old eventually failed. All I could find to replace it were cheap rubbish. Luckily I found one in a dusty old chandlers, my sense of balance was then restored.

Incredibly well maintained and well designed boat. I like the traditional wood work and the ocean cruising design of the berthing in the main saloon. Temporary berths release space that can be enjoyed by a cruising couple instead of using empty cabins for junk storage.

With a Najad or a HR you can never go wrong. The finishing is always top quality and reselling value also. But the previous owners did a really good job maintaining everything as stock as possible, even the kitchen ware. It's impressive. Very good choice. It's nice to see you excited again. Happy sails!

I am really impressed with your new boat and you both did a great job of showing us around. At first I was a bit disappointed with the 'small' size but after this showing, I fully understand why you decided she was large enough. Also she is a rather heavy displacement boat for her size and I expect she will be a comfortable sailor. The engine compartment may not be walk-in but it appears to be large enough for an easy place to work in and the low engine hours is a big plus. I really like those cabinet door latches. I won't need to feel bad that you are standing at a helm that doesn't shelter you in crappy conditions either! This is a well designed sailboat.....thank you two (and cute Vera) for showing us around!!!

The whole story from selling RAN through to this episode has been like a Mini-Series. Lots of tension and excitement, with various twists and turns, several sub-plots running simultaneously, and teasers dangled in front of the audience to maintain the atmosphere over the Xmas/New Year "silly season". Theres no doubt that reality is far more exciting and captivating than mere fictional serials of old time TV. Now it feels like the new chapters are about to unfold

Wow very nice below Najad really know how to build a boat👏 the quality and craftsmanship shows. Agree with going for a 44 ft boat lower marina costs, easier to anchor with a smaller swinging circle and easier to handle than a 55ft + boat. The only negitive i can see is the 7.2 feet draught that may limit you from some sheltered anchorages, but every boat is a comprise and i am sure that is one you can live with👏👍🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿⛵
