Awesome sound! I bet your room treatment contributes a lot to it. Care to share your room dimensions and how far the speakers from the back and side walls are?

Thank You 🙏 I mentioned this in one of my previous post…IME the listening room (treatment thereof), quality of mains power (including dealing with common mode and differential noise) and isolation (both device and room) are the three fundamentals that contribute to more than 50% of sound quality of any set up...regardless of the price. Also, how your speaker couples to your room is critically important...often bigger is NOT better with speaker size. Electronics (while important) come much later. This is taking nothing away from the importance of electronics or what might be possible with the cassette Decks and Compact Cassettes. But focussing on gear before sorting out your room and power, is putting the cart before the horse. Just my 2c My room dimensions are 5m Width x 8.3m Length x 2.75m Height. Speaker (tweeter) to back wall is 2.1m, tweeter to side wall is 1.2m, tweeter to tweeter is 2.6m, speaker to listening position (ear) is approximately 3m (depending on how far I lean back 😊). Hope this Helps!

@@DynamicAudio Thank you for the response. My room is currently untreated and upon watching your videos, and reading your comments (plus videos from Acoustic Fields). Indeed, room treatment is a must in order to extract as much juice as possible from whatever gear one has. I asked for your room size and speaker placement because I estimated that your room is about 5 meters wide. (Turns out that my estimate is correct). My room is 5 m wide, 6 m long, 3 m high. I checked the size of your speakers from the manufacture's website and indeed, your speaker size is just a tad bigger than mine. I tried your indicated placement and I was just wowed - the music in my room now sounds wonderful and its not even treated. Thanks for your videos! Your gear showcase is awesome.

@@azonialaplamis4290 Thank You. Pleased to hear you found the video useful. Yes…getting the room right is singularly the most important variable in any set up...in addition having speakers that couple well with your room is also important (size, dispersion patterns etc)...particularly in relation to managing bass energy. IME chasing gear without addressing these variables is just polishing the proverbial turd...and eventually ends up becoming a salvage operation...regardless of the price.😉 What speakers do your amps drive?

Sounds amazingly good considering it's 'only' a cassette... Don't remember my decks sounding like this. Maybe I forgot to switch the Dolby NR off!😁 On a wider point, is this the set-up you've kinda settled on? Msb/karan/kharma? I would never have thought of trying the Kharma power amps, just because they're a speaker company, right? But they sound amazing... And I'm tempted to try a Karan pre-amp with my ATC actives. I'll keep u posted if I do🍻

Thanks Bill 🙏 I prefer not to enable Dolby NR when recording if I can help it...I feel it smears the sound a little with a some loss of dynamics. However, this depends on the Cassette deck and the Tape in use. If your deck and tape combo allows you to record at high levels (hot) then you don't really need the Dolby...and still maintain very good SN ratio. With regard to my set up; yes I am currently very happy with the synergy. That is not to say that I am not curious...or don't have an itch to find out what else is around the corner 😊. I will keep trying different gear when I can...and if something else clicks better then it stays in my rack lol. Let me know how you go with the Karan Pre...may be you can get one to try from a local dealer?
