Finally! An honest review. I am also someone that suggested this review, so thank you for this! As for me, to get around not being able to use WiFi, I use Apple Airplay and pipe the music through my smart TV. It works even better than I expected. @@uptownsfinest1598 OK this is where I am confused, I too have a CX and will be getting a series X, I was about to pas on this because it is not Earc and he tv is, are we sacrificing anything by getting an arc only sound bar vs an earc capable sound bar like the Vizio elevate or other lg and sonos bars? How do you connect this properly and is there a downside? Will I get atmos and surround from WebOs apps as well as the series x? Thanks for any answers on this, Im ust confused Ive never used a sound bar before, and I wan to find something with subs and speakers like this, BUT I am confised about the earc and arc limitations and how that affects the audio and decoding the various audio formats.
@THATGUYTALKSMOVIES3 жыл бұрын
@Matt Pipke If the tv has eARC (the CX does I believe. I have a C9 and it does.) , then you're fine _. The connections are just different. Here's an answer I received directly from Nakamichi when inquiring about_ the same: " _*The reason we suggest connecting everything to the TV is that you have a 2019 LG C9 that has eARC (99.999% of the TVs do not have that). eARC can pass thru Dolby Atmos or DTSX directly to the soundbar. Other customers who do not have eARC will have to connect all the devices directly to the soundbar."* _ Hope that helped.

Dude - The CX is a beautiful TV. I got so F****** lucky and managed to buy one a 77” LG in the box for $610 3 days ago and I creamed my pants when I got it home and it’s hooked up and ready to use. I purchased a vendor return item in a auction and saw the TV to bid on. It was in perfect condition , still in box , has the styrofoam , the plastic bags for the remote and everything! So I went for it and got it for $610!! The 77” CX OLED by LG was $3200 new and I absolutely fell in love with the picture and design of this tv !

My surround sound receiver went out after 15 years so I decided to buy this exact unit. With that being said the bass is awesome! That’s a givin with the extra sub. With that being said the sound bar itself with the surround speakers are just week. You can tell they are only using 2 or 3 inch drivers in them. Happy new year and big thx for your videos... I have questions regarding digital sound out on LG TV. I heard that Auto is for ARC and pass through is for eARC. I've a budget LG tv (UN7300) with a standard HDMI ARC but I've have both options (auto/pass through) 1/ what's the point of having pass through option since my tv don't support eARC? 2/ what's the difference between both options (I mean what auto really do and what pass through do)? 3/ I have the JBL Bar 5.1 (with real surround speakers which support PCM/LPCM, AC3 and DTS) I know that my tv don't support DTS as all LG TVs of 2020 and ARC pass through don't support LPCM so the only option I've is Dolby digital and am wondering if auto is the right choice rather than using passthrough!? PS: I can detect a difference between both options; when auto is selected surround speakers are a bit louder when pass through is selected the front speakers (from soundbar) are a bit louder and surround speakers are less louder. Plz help auto or passthrough which is the most accurate in my case and what's the difference between both.

I have questions Not being Earc capable, I have an LG Cx and will add a Series x to it, will this Nakamichi be able to deliver the audio properly based on the tv and xbx capabilities or am I limited due to the sound bar being arc only? I love the idea of the 7.1, a 9.2 is too much for my space, honestly 7.2 is a lot also, I just wanted a 5.2 but this sound bar with 2 subs grabbed my attention, I think there is a way to pair the satellite speakers on one stand to minimize the footprint, I really only have room for two rear stands. But im also looking at others with a sub and 2 rears that are EARC capable, like the Vizio elevate and I am going to check the LG and Sonos too. I just want an enhanced audio solution for now until they make a receiver that is hdmi 2.1 capable. Should I just ignore any system that is arc only and look at Earc devices only for best results and compatibility?

You nailed this review. I bought this system but the newer 2023 version. The Dolby atmos doesn’t work well because the system doesn’t fire off the ceiling because it doesn’t have independent up firing speakers. Also, the system just sucks at music. The sound is poor. My Jbl blows this system out of the water with better Dolby atmos, musical quality, and a subwoofer that blends the sound of the bass with the rest of the system rather than just having two thump cannons as side tables. Not to mention my nakamichi was defective from day one and took forever to get repaired and returned. I’ll rather upgrade to newest Jbl 1300x or the Samsung 990c.

Would you suggest this over the Samsung q950a? They both seem to get raving reviews but how is the arc with say a eARC LG C1 & Nvidia Shield?

If you're a fan of the poetry named after your city, there's a terrible/hilarious Limerick about the man from St James (involves his grandmother and a match, bodily functions, etc. - you could probably Google it but be forewarned!) Cheers from a Scot-blood in Texas~

I am going to buy this setup for my home..i actually have one extra of these subs already..so i will have 3 total. I am curious if anyone has input if this is a good or bad idea. Also where would be a good placement for the 3rd sub? Thank you.

I am interested in the Shockwafe but I have not got a feel for how it does with music. I plan on downsizing to a smaller home and replacing my Denon/SVS 5.1 system with a wireless system. I know that a soundbar can’t match it but music is important to me. How is it on music playback?

Very serious question, when is this gonna have eARC? or does firmware update (soon) will allow/accept eARC by any chance OR it's gonna be a hardware update? Which I assume it's gonna be Nakamichi Shockwafe 2? Btw, liked and subscribe, I am buying Nakamichi 7.1, I wanted 9.2 but my room is not big enough, I don't want his on the living room as I play in my room.
@JonahMatthes3 жыл бұрын
From what I’ve heard and seen, Nakamichi doesn’t plan on updating any of the current models to support eARC. The next model will support eARC but I’m not sure when that will be announced/released.

@@JonahMatthes Oh dang... I see, does eARC really make a difference? Not all does have eARC as well.
@JonahMatthes3 жыл бұрын
@@strychnine7777 eARC makes no difference if you're connecting to the HDMI Inputs. As long as you plug in your devices to the HDMI inputs, you should be alright!

@@JonahMatthes The reason I wanted to buy this is that I have Asus TUF Gaming VG27BQ 27” Monitor 165Hz 1440P 0.4ms Elmb Sync Eye Care DisplayPort HDMI with 2 hdmi slots, which 1 is for ps4 and 1 for the soundbar, I believe that would work right? I don't like to use PS4 Coaxial to soundbar, since it wouldn't be that high quality, please help me confirm.
@JonahMatthes3 жыл бұрын
@@strychnine7777 Yeah, that monitor likely doesn't have HDMI ARC. So you'd need to connect the PS4 to the Soundbar HDMI input, then HDMI Out from the Soundbar to the Monitor.

Why haven't they upgraded for 2021 & does this have earc & multiple hdmi's? Not sure HDr Dolby VRR Allm 4k120 can work with this unit with a ps5/Xbox.. Will an updated hdmi 2.1 unit be coming to handle all of that?

Ehhh. The Sonos Arc system is better in terms of audio quality and ease of use/setup. The Nakamichi can be more immersive if you configure the surround speakers accordingly.
