I think that the optical connection was made for ADAT protocol. 8 channels over a single cable.

There only perspective I see is that soundbars suck even in 2024. They aren't worth the price tag and they are underpowered compared to what you can DIY. The major issue is many people do not know how to set it up themselves and they get easily fooled. You don't need to run wires. There are extermely high end wireless and compact receiver that simply and easily blow almost every single soundbar out of the water.

I have a dilemma in that I have two great wired speakers installed up in the walls to the side and a little behind where the couch is that make music and movies sound great. We also have 2 wired floor speakers on either side of the TV. Everything runs through the receiver. My wife wants to eliminate the two floor speakers and go with a cleaner look. Is there a setup that will preserve the use of the two built in wired speakers while adding two more modern low profile speakers? Seems everything is wireless now but I do not want to abandon those wired wall speakers.

You don’t mention installing a CEC-less HDMI adapter. Won’t that solve some problems? Is there a downside, like loss of single remote functionality?

I have my tv at eye level so I don’t get a crick in my neck from holding my head and neck up like I’m seated on the front row of a movie theater

The Sonos Arc is great (for a soundbar). But if Dolby Digital+ is good enough for TV and you want great hifi music as well; go for the Sonos Amp 💪💪 kzbin.info/www/bejne/gGq7hYimbtaAoM0si=kVENiZbhML7SPB59

Digital Optical works just fine and is more reliable. I recently switched back to optical from hdmi arc. It’s much less of a headache. I had more issues with my hdmi ARC setup, as it would constantly revert back to my TV speakers. All my devices were hdmi arc/earc compatible too.

Sorry but After using sound bars for so many years I can confidently say once I bought a 5.2.2/7.2 receiver I can confidently say running a 5.1.2 setup blows any soundbar I’ve had out the water and any soundbar with DTS-x or even a 4.1 sound bar with rear “wireless speakers just doesn’t sound any were close to to my 5.1.2 Dolby Atmos surround sound, once I fired up a movie with a good Atmos mix in it I was blown away with the clarity of the sound and getting goose bumps especially when it a jet flies over from back to front and the transition to each speaker was amazing and I couldn’t even tell the audio was being reproduced by speakers it felt like i was there in the movie which is something I’ve never gotten from a sounds bar, the only time I see a sound bar as an actual Choice is for an area where you don’t need surround sound so like a living room or a teenagers room for gaming but saying you don’t need a receiver to have a surround sound system is completely disingenuous and misleading for the simple fact that a soundbar has a receiver built in not to mentioned in the case of “wireless rear speakers” you need a receiver to catch the signal being sent out by the main unit and the issue with that is it’s able to have to interference causing issues with the audio cutting out and it’s another part to fail same with sound bar subwoofers which are wireless and the less wireless, I’m sorry to say but sound bars while they’re useful they’re not replacing a full setup with proper receiver that can handle proper Dolby Atmos and not needing upward during speakers and using the ceiling as an acoustic mirror and you hoping you get the desired effect which can be hit or miss, i would advise changing the title!

So the TV should be the 'middleman' rather than the soundbar? Doesn't that mess up which input you should be using to display the image and sound together?

Good afternoon. I'm new to this channel. I recently bought an Amazon Fire soundbar for my Vizio D-series 32” TV, which supports Dolby Audio and DTS: Virtual X. However, even as I was excited to use this Amazon soundbar to listen to music videos on KZbin, the treble, bass, and drums nearly drowned out the vocals. I don't have a lip-syncing issue with the video; it’s just that the vocals are barely hearable, even on my TV’s KZbin app. But the vocals, treble, bass, and drums are equally matched when I'm using this Amazon soundbar to listen to my CDs on my DVD player while connected to my TV via HDMI cable. If you haven't already, is it possible to make a video about Dolby Audio, why it doesn't always work with mp3 videos on KZbin, and why the vocals in the music videos are barely hearable? Thank you very much.

almost correct an AV receiver can also be a stereo but a stereo receiver cannot be an AV producer also most people that have a decent AV receiver can benefit from having an external amplifier myself I'm using a Marantz cinema 50 with a Marantz MM7055 so a lot of what was stated in here was kind of a little sideways almost correct but not completely and might cause some confusion I can also play Semeraro Trump #sound stereo which is an expanded stereo that plays on all of my speakers but just a left right channel I think a little more research needs to be done and maybe redo this video but I did subscribe keep making videos

I have the a80j w/HTA7000 bar, perspective wireless rears and subwoofer. I like the idea of getting the receiver to add a 2nd subwoofer. My question is, can this be paired with the sound the hta7000 and it will improve the audio soundstage at all? Second question is, can I use the receiver as a hifi player and stream throughout it to the rest of WiFi wireless network speakers in tendon with the Sony surround set up I have? I have been considering a fidelity audio player that holds a better hifi connection then my iPhone. Most importantly I’m curious if this will improved the sound bar and rest of the Sony speakers. I love my ht7000 surround set up but do want subwoofer power, second addition sounds amazing but not a most. Second subwoofer aside, to reiterate, will this improve my surrounds performance or are they fine on their own? If I got this would I only get it to benefit adding a second subwoofer? Again, I have the a80j, ht7000 with perspective sub and rears.

I’ve literally never had that issue with a *receiver and gaming and I’ve been using a Sony 7.2/5.2.2 receiver and have been running it in Atmos mode at 5.1.2 and I literally get no lag and I’ve been running it for almost a year so there’s clearly something wrong with your receiver!

I connect my Sony soundbar via eARC. I listen/stream music via BT but when I switch the Sony HT-S2000 from TV to BT then my tv picture disappears and I’m left with a blank screen, no tv picture but the musics playing fine. When I switch back from BT to TV I lose my music but get my picture & sound back. I usually like to listen to my music all day plus watch tv (obviously it’s muted). Can anyone fix this so I can watch tv & stream my music too, can anyone help so I can fix this or is it unfixable?
