Their children are neglected and not loved, and they didn’t ask to be on this earth, and you give all your love and attention to this murderer. I have seen few of those shows for my thesis, and am not referring to this particular episode. For this man to have a suspicion who the other man is????? It’s laughable.

The programme makers sure gave us a doozy. An English woman married to a guy on Death Row - which they didn’t tell us to nearly the end- who was engaged to be married to another guy on Death Row, and the guys know each other. What a mess!!! He was obviously a gang member ( maybe a Blood) as he said he would NEVER snitch on the guilty party. He went on about protecting his family by not grassing, but gangsters call their gang their family even if they have a big family like he did. I did find it sad a bit at the end when she actually got to hold / cuddle him. I wonder what she will do now? I know a lot of people will be saying she could always go back to the Death Row and find another husband. I hope she finds happiness but not on a Death Row. I reckon she’s very lonely and on a mission to save someone. Didn’t she realise that he was in a very high percentage to actually have their sentence carried out. SMH.

As a psychology major, here is my take. She is an empath and she feels like desire to help these prisoners by devoting her time to them. She is what's known as a "fixer". Women are more likely to be this type of person in a relationship, it's part of the motherly nurturing part of a woman. She is giving her life and her happiness to try to "fix" Reginald. Also, the same goes for her relationship with his mother. You can see that when they meet in the parking lot. She feels happiness when his mother dotes on how much she loves Sandy. She's a very sweet person, but empathetic almost to a fault.

I'm not sure this program serves a good purpose because it romanticizes these women having relationships with men in prison, thus distracting them from getting on with their own lives and investing their lives in purposes that can not only make them happier but also do some real good in the world. She spent time on a murderer that could have been spent on her own children and grandchildren to enhance and strengthen her relationships with them. Or time that could have been spent working with underprivileged people or people with disabilities or other lonely people, people she could have been a real blessing to. She was 47, he was 28. She was old enough to be his mother. The fact that she was actually married to another man on the same cell block as Reggie was rather normalized as well. I would hope that other lonely women will see this as a cautionary tale, but I'm afraid they might be encouraged to see it as some kind of fairy tale that they could live out too.

I looked at the list of charitable causes suggested in your reply, and just wondered if you helped with any of them. I have had to take early retirement, on medical grounds, from my job as a teacher and I genuinely miss being feeling needed by people. I work 1 to 1 now, in a primary school, (elementary? ) with children who need help with their language development. It's voluntary, and I love it. We all have our 'noble cause', and I think this lady sees herself as a huge blessing to these prisoners. I mean, she is as crazy as three cats in a sack, but she obviously sees this letter writing etc as necessary work. I totally agree with you about grandchildren, though. I would absolutely love to have one, but it will never happen; our son has autism and learning disabilities, and will be unable to follow the usual path in life. If she was not so selfish, she could be giving a lot to charity. She seems to be living out a sexual fantasy. For every minute wasted on a prison inmate, that is a minute less she could spend working, trying to better her children's lives. She needs some psychological support and simple life guidance. Priorities are wrong. I would aim at taking my children on holiday somewhere beautiful...then make it happen, and cherish the memories. This is selfish to a disgraceful degree
